Yes but after adding the washer to make the two piece work had to do some persuading lol
Beast! Let’s jack my truck up.
Thanks much!! Great job and video, and less anger than i have when things go bad. Im a 79 yo bachelor with no garage and my 1983 F150 4.9 now has bad number 2 cyl. I checked plugs and wires. Sounds like bad lifter and or pushrod. Bummer. Im no real mechanic, and frustrated. But its been a great truck, May have to just driveit as is as i dont have a backup vehicle, and live way out far from parts stores and on limited smal incom.e
Man I’m definitely no mechanic either. I just tear in and hope for the best. Lol. One good thing a 300 will keep running and running. Praying it turns out good for you friend!
SORRY but IMHO they looked better black with ford center caps my current wheels are chromed steelies with your same chrome dome caps BUT what i really wanna know is how these 20s affect ride quality AND handling?
I’m switching them. I like to play and do donuts and they suck for that. Lol

hey brotha just wanted to get some help im rebuilding my 1986 F160 4.9 300 inline 6 and i had the guy at autozone order me the new head and the one i got has these aditional ports/screw holes with threads next to the threaded big hole its kinda hard to explain but is there a specific head name or model i need to know to get the rite head?
**F150** sorry for the typeO
if you are looking at it from the the exhaust side they are above the main head bolts to the left
@@1RAMPAGExMASTER4 yeah they will still work sounds like an efi head which will actually wake up the old 300.

These are really top notch lawn tractors. And you just can’t beat that Kawasaki engine. They have a heavy duty transaxle in the rear for mowing up to 3.5 acres. And it’ll handle mowing on some hills better too!

@@jeffreyrigged haha hey I corrected it. Lol
that blue thing was prob part of the heat riser thats been pulled off. What all do you have going in that valve? You can pull vacuum off the carb or whatever you need. Im guessing its the brake one.
Just a temp sensor and a heater hose
@@averagebogarage you can use about any kind of t set up and a barb for the hose for that. If intake has another port you can use one for each as well. Im pretty sure that blue thing is what attached to the air cleaner to in cold to help with the choke. Really dont need it.
Why I always do my stuff myself
I've done that with dad's and a pulley a bunch
Hey it works. 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
@averagebogarage it does but winch makes life alot easier
Aaahahaha!! Did I hear a faint GET-R-DONE!!
I dig the 10s
You need to look at the total timing at 3000 rpm Should be around 34 degrees before top dead center
So just set my idle screw til I get around 3k and use my light again?
@@averagebogarage You don't need to move the idle screw just stick something between the screw and stop to get around 2 or 3 k rpm then I think your fancy timing light can be adjusted to read 34 degrees BTDC read the instructions how to do that or search for total timing advance for setting up a centrifugal distributor It will run much better at highway speed
@@marcokahny709 awesome man. It didn’t come with instructions but I bet I can find some on line. Does setting it there mess with the initial timing?
@@averagebogarage Check out Uncle Tony's garage Ignition timing for power He'll explain everything you need to know
This video sucks!
Mebbe headed the right way!!
That sounds to me like either a starter that's getting heat soaked or the timing's too far advanced
Gonna check the timing out when it cools down. I wrapped the exhaust and starter but it may have got fried before I did it.
@@averagebogarage Keep us posted....
It’s wore out. lol If it’s smoking at all or if you have some blow bye it may be something internal,, rings or something causing really low compression on one or more cylinders.
That’s what I’m afraid of but no smoke or no blow by. May need to pull and just rebuild it 😩😩
Have you checked the timing?
Bad starter?
I’d replaced the starter, battery, cables and if that doesn’t do it time to check compression.
I’m gonna try starter next. It’s a newer one so I think it’s fine but I’m gonna get it checked. I think Autozone’s checks em
