Holy crap you call yourself a mechanic the way you talk and the things you say makes my skin crawl
No good boss! Let the work begin Good luck with it brother 👍🏻
@@IronheadGarage it could have definitely been avoided but oh well lol thanks a lot Chris 👍 take care.
A Dodge isnt a vehicle you want to own post-warranty. Or pre-warranty. Or anywhere in between the two.
Ehh I’ve had very good luck with them. I am very good about maintaining my vehicles though
Awesomeness
👍👍
👍👍
Great idea looks good. One of a kind what makes it cool👍🏻
@@IronheadGarage Thanks a lot Chris 👍 I was just trying to think a little outside the box on this one lol.
Badass!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks I really like the way it came out too. There was no better use for them old cylinder head bolts that are a one time use lol 😂.
Did you resurface the heads? My accord hasnt overheated but i want to replace the head gasket for preventative maintenance and idk if i need to resurface the heads/blocks
@@danielnino3861 I did resurface the head. It overheated badly it was warped. I'd advice not to do the head gasket if your vehicle is not overheating. The head gasket is made of layers of metal/aluminum. It's not a a paper gasket or a rubber seal that would just deteriorate. The only time you really have to replace it is if it overheated and you're coolant is mixing with your oil or the coolant is getting into the cylinder etc. of course all of that can also be caused by a cracked head or cylinder/block. You can do other things as preventative maintenance, such as timing belt and water pump, Replace your radiator hoses, thermostat, coolant flush. I personally wouldn't replace a head gasket unless I really have to. Anyway hope this was helpful 👍👍.
@@vladanorve9383 thank you 🙏
Wonder how often that happens?
@@drewhadams in this case I think what happened is that the engine was swapped at some point and the didn't make sure to secure the harness. They just left it hanging and it ended up just resting on top of the exhaust manifold.
Often. I just worked on one with the same issue
I’m having the same issue with a new Kia
Clean.
Man! You got that engine looking sweet! Always good to prime them up with oil👍🏻
Thanks a lot Chris 👍👍 I appreciate it man. It took me a little while to get this far with it but Yeah definitely gotta make sure that oil pump is pushing oil.
Looks like it works great to me😁 Man! That's the easy oil filter to change I have ever seen!
Haha yeah definitely they couldn't have made it any easier. 😂
I have a new starter new battery new solenoid new wires new terminals knew everything and it's still crank slowly
Right on Vlad great to see you have been working on the old 69👍🏻
Hey Chris thanks a lot. Yeah I've been working on it here and there. The engine is pretty much ready but I still need a transmission. Thanks for stopping by 👍👍 I appreciate it.

SO ARE YOU GOING TO CHANGE THE BALANCER ?
@@donaldriedel1800 yeah I did replace it. At some point someone installed the wrong balancer on this vehicle
Now I tell ya that green one’s special
What am I looking at? Willis nose, falcon tail and roof it's awesome
Putting the new booster on is a pain in the ass. I have 3 hours into trying to align the holes and still no success. Really fucked up design by ford. Thanks for taking time out of my life for your shitty engineering.

Headache watching this video..
If it works it's fixed 😎
Just ran into these folks today in Ohio Jackson county good folks
Hi, great video. I would like to ask did you reuse the head bolts or did you replace them with new ones? What’s the torque when you put the bolts back on the rocker arms? Thanks❤
Thanks I bought new bolts and torqued the head in 3 steps. Step 1 @ 29 flbs - Step 2 @ 51 flbs - Step 3 @ 72 flbs that's for the cylinder head. And the rocker shaft bolts 19 flbs since they are really thin bolts. Torque them down starting from the center bolts
@@vladanorve9383 thanks for your reply. Did you get the bolts from AutoZone or advance auto parts? I got the bolts from eBay you think that would work ok?
@@tedminh9610 I honestly can't remember where. But I think it should be ok to use the ones from eBay.
I have a 2008 dodge ram and I bought a fuel pump from car quest because my old fuel pump was ready empty and making my truck stall I had a mechanic install the new one from car quest and I filled it with 20$ and it still stays on empty and I have p0463 code too what did you do to fix it did you get another brand fuel pump
Yeah I got a different pump from a different part store. I think I ended up getting one from AutoZone I can't remember now
@@vladanorve9383 great! Did it ended up working because at this point I think I’m going to get a used oem one
@@zuriiiii77 yeah it did work. Good luck 👍
@@vladanorve9383 sounds great and thanks I’ll need it
Yeah good job showing us how to fix it, what a joke
I'm just curious what did you find so funny here?
I know this is old. But with those bent valves, did you just replace the head gaskets and valves? I have the same engine, and I in the process of putting it back together, and I noticed the little marks on the cylinder as well as a couple valves that were showing the way those in your video were.
My stupid phone dont work right but I have same problem just put pump in dodge to same problem

Sir how in the world did you remove that crank pulley so easily, speaking as someone who is fighting to get one off a tuscon currently
What size socket to remove the nut?
Oh thank god!! Thank you for making this video. My situation is identical lol all the way to the party he brought I bought the exact ones too😂😂, I’m trying to get to the valves but for the life of me I can’t get the crank and cam pulley bolts off!! And of course it’s what’s not shown very well. Dang. I was commenting while watching! lol 😂well hell
Should be a great engine for the 69. Don't need to be high horse power just need to run good right. Intake is looking good. Good luck with the rest of it👍🏻
Thanks a lot Chris 👍 yeah everything seems to be looking good so far. I decided to use the aluminum intake to reduce a little bit of weight I guess lol. Thanks for stopping by I appreciate it , take care 👍.
It would be a lot easier to remove the intake manifold
I was thinking about picking up an old target master heco in mexico like this for my 1970. Good luck on your project, can't wait to see more
Thanks bro I really appreciate it 🙏
Looking sweet!👍🏻
Thanks 👍👍 I like the way it turned out.I thought of buying some chromed valve covers but I talked myself out of it lol.
Man all those wires what a mess. I bet that was a little tideous to fix. Great to see you getting to work on the 69 hopefully one of those engines work out for you. Hope you get over that cold big giant cheese burgers always help lol Take it easy brother 👍🏻
Oh yeah fixing them wires was definitely tedious Ok that's it I'm definitely getting me a cheese burger now lol. I've been doing a little bit of work on the 69 here and there when I get a bit of free time, but hey a little progress is better than no progress lol . Thanks for stopping by 👍👍 I really appreciate it, you too take care.
@@vladanorve9383 🍔😁👍
You really should have filmed the hardest parts. Removal and insertion.
You could have saved a lot of time, fighting and potentially damage to other components by just taking off the intake manifold. 7 bolts and 1 nut under the throttle body. People praising an incorrect method? Yikes
Craigers white walls nicely done 👌
Crazy a wheel speed sensor would make the door not work. Damn Honda's! Stay warm brother 👍🏻
Yeah I was really surprised myself couldn't believe it lol. you too stay warm 👍 👍 that seems to be the challenge lately haha
