Thanks for posting. You confirmed what I’ve always felt was better for me. Wingspan just a tad shorter than height. I find myself too steep during a round, better results when I flatten my plane.

And what if it's the same height vs span?

I'm not understanding the physics here. If wingspan > height, you have less pelvic tilt (more upright at address) which should require a FLATTER swing plane. You're saying the opposite. What am I missing?

I’m a low handicapper who’s most frequent mishit is a fat shot, particularly with less than full wedges or when the ball is above my feet. I know it’s hard to say exactly why without a video of my swing, but I think I might be a shallow rather than steep fat shot hitter. I sweep my fairway iron shots. I’ve considered numerous potential causes of the fat hits but have never been able to pinpoint it. I don’t know if it’s a change in spine angle(possibly due to early extension), hanging back, too early a release, lack of synchronization between the upper and lower body, not enough hip rotation to bring the low point forward, etc. what do you think are the most common causes? I can send a video if that would help.

I have trip 💎 I tend to hit high toe in the box and it seems to actually go further than when I pure.🤷🏼 For some reason when I pure it I get a low penetration fade and no roll out..... But I love it.

OOOOH WOW WOW WOW THANK YOU!!! Now, I understand why I have to stick with an upright swing because my darn span (69") is 4.5" longer than my height (73.5"). I tried the opposite of what l should be doing but l have trouble and it was so l can create "lag" but man l feel as l had to do circus move just swing and it never feels natural but when l do like you said to feel as you eat your bicep it feels natural and l swing easier but l move away from it because they say it's too steep. Thank you, sir, l am going to do this it's the best advice for me.

Great tip, thanks. I’ve been hitting off the toe lately and hooking like crazy. I know I get disconnected in backswing and get out to in. Took your tip to the backyard with wiffle balls and was able to send the out to the right and straight. Will definitely be using this as a drill! Thanks!

I am 5’6” with a 72” reach. I struggled for years trying to use a flatter, more rotary swing. I am now, finally using a much more upright swing plane with success. Thanks for the validation.

I've always know my arms were long but didn't realize how stark the difference was until I just measured: 5'10" with a 6'6" wingspan. I'm swinging WAY too flat. Might explain my struggles. Even air swinging in my living room feels so much more comfortable and natural. Can't wait to get in the lab with this. Thank you. UPDATE: Had the best range session of my life after watching this. Like remarkably better ball striking and overall comfort in the swing. This info is for real!!

This is brilliant. I get the shanks every few months and it always takes a couple weeks to get them out of my system but I don’t know how. I had them recently and found this video and this literally cured them the first time I went out on the range. My goal was to have a feel for when it happens on the course and it recently did and this was an instant fix. Much appreciated!!

This is an amazing video... It explains why sometimes playing around with strength of grip works - you happen to match the grip with takeaway without understanding what you have done. I have tried weak, neutral and strong grips using this takeaway technique and magically they all work. Matt's grip seems to me to be the best of both worlds between strong and weak for all wood/hybrid/iron shots. When it comes to chipping and short pitches the strong grip is rock solid and is a complete joy. The first competitive round I played in (the next day after seeing this video) I had 11 pars and a birdie and it was only my putting that let me down. Thank you very much, I'm enjoying golf again!

I wish you had a video about this from the front. I've recently been trying to go to more of a vertical swing due to my wingspan, but have a hard time through the hitting area. Does your lead arm have to go left of your body to close the clubface or are you flipping it at the bottom?

So ironic, my names Bryan.. I use to hit the driver well, now I got the yips.. very low toe contact. Going less then 100 yards.. if that. Causing way too many drops to the right too. I’m very confused on why this just started happening these past two rounds.

I have a friend who is 70 years old and shoots his age or better on a regular basis. At the top of his backswing his left arm is bent 90 degrees. When he stands straight up he could standing in the batters box. You can use a baseball type swing in golf, not a baseball grip.

I overlooked these wedge because of the goofy auto tune commercial. Recently picked up a demo 50 degree and found out how good they were,I went back for the 46,54 and 58 degree version! They are so easy and fun to hit.😎👍
