I was a organ student of Gian "John" Gianelli in the early 1970's at St. Mary's in Roslyn N.Y. The pipe organ there is a Midmer Organ Company instrument with 2 manuals and about 20 stops with mechanical tracker action donated by Clarence Mackey in the early 1900's, I think in 1912. As you may know, Midmer-Losh Organ Company, the successor to Midmer Organ Company then based in Merrick, Long Island, New York, built the largest pipe organ in the world at the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey. I hope that the original instrument is still there at St. Mary's and not replaced by an Allen, Walker, or a Rogers electronic instrument. It has a nice mellow "romantic" sound with little or no chiff, a beautiful 8 foot clarabella flute stop on the Great manuel, a 3 rank mixture in the Great manual also and a soft vox celeste string on the swell. Hopefully, its been restored by now so that the parishioners can appreciate its beautiful sound. Built way before Albert Schweitzer's horrific "organ reform movement" took hold strangling such beautiful instruments. Where's the joy? In its sound!
Where is the joy? I felt like I was at a funeral throughout this Mass. This is a time for celebration, not a funeral march. It's Jesus's birthday! We don't sit moan8ng when we attend birthday parties for those we love. Jesus deserves better than we'd offer a friend or family member's birth, not this depressing Mass.
What a moving tribute to a great man. What a beautiful family. Love you Carolyn
loved the explanation of Godparents as witnesses
Watching from Ireland, will the funeral mass of John Nicholas be streamed?
It is right now
@@stmaryschurchroslynny4025 yes I watched it thank you. Uncle John. 🙏
