For what it's worth, I don't think that the expression "Grown men don't cry" was ever meant to be taken literally. It was meant to be taken figuratively to mean that grown men don't manifest weakness. But emotions are not weakness. And being sensitive, or emotionally vulnerable, is not unmasculine. It is human. Also, emotional suppression is unhealthy for men, both emotionally and physically. We have known this for many years. But more seriously, in the Bible, we read that many men have cried, grieved, or mourned. Even Jesus Christ wept. Therefore, if God's only begotten Son cried, then there is no reason that any other man should feel that crying, showing emotion, or being vulnerable, is weak or unmanly. Anyone who says "Grown men and big boys don't cry", obviously doesn't read the Bible, doesn't listen to country music, has never experienced extreme joy, and has never experienced heartbreak or sorrow.

TAKE THIS FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH. As men, we are entitled to our emotions; and have the right to express our feelings. What's more, we have known for years that emotional suppression is harmful to men's health. As far as relating to women, here is a special bit of advice. If you are a sensitive, or emotional, man here is how you can keep your woman. PASSIONATELY PERFORM CUNNILINGUS ON HER DAILY (except when she is menstruating). Just watch. She will miraculously find a way to stay with you. Many more women will leave a man who doesn't do cunnilingus (70% of women claim that they would). What's more, 80% of women prefer cunnilingus over intercourse. I believe that the determinant factor is CUNNILINGUS, not CRYING. Please consider what I say.

To encourage men to be more open emotionally, and to encourage women to be more compassionate, I encourage couples to try CFNM, which means s "clothed female, nude male". The philosophy behind CFNM is the concept of the "rebalancing of power" in male-female relations. Women, being clothed, means that they are able to feel empowered, confident, and revered. This will make her feel more self-assured, so that she can be more compassionate toward men. And men, being nude, are able to experience being open, vulnerable, and accepted. Hence, men are able to open up and express their feelings more. This helps both men and women because women crave power and men crave acceptance. So both are happy. In addition to this, men. being nude, will make a greater effort to keep their bodies in good shape. With men being nude sex symbols, they will feel more at ease to be open emotionally. And women will appreciate their nude hunks more, accept his vulnerable side, and be more compassionate when he cries.

From what I have seen, the old stereotype that says "Big boys don't cry" is gradually being laid to rest. I am happy to see that society has somewhat lifted its burdensome gender role expectations that have been placed on men; especially in the realm of emotional expression. Thank God for this because we have known for many years that emotional suppression is unhealthy for men, both emotionally and physically; and those who compel men and boys to suppress their emotions are killing them. In my observance, there are four situations when it is socially acceptable for a boy or a man to cry: (1) When he loses his woman. (2) When someone, that he loves, dies. (3) When he is listening to sad country songs. (4) When he is overwhelmed with joy. I can personally vouch for the fourth reason because most of the time when I cry (at least 90% of the time), it is because I am overwhelmed with happiness and I shed tears of joy. This will help men by letting them know that it is OK to have emotions, to express their feelings, to show vulnerability, and to cry. I am deeply moved when you point out that men are human, that we have feelings, that we have the right to express our feelings, that crying is a natural release, and that women ought to respect our feelings. Ray Bradbury even said that if a man cries in front of you, it means that he trusts you. For what it's worth, I've never made any connection between masculinity and emotional suppression. Being of Portuguese descent, all of my relatives, and I, have always been very expressive, very passionate, very emotional, and hot-tempered, the men as well as the women. To those who don't think it is "manly" to show emotion; who is to say that men can't express their feelings or show emotions in a masculine way? None of my relatives or family members ever had any trouble doing so!. One of the great ironies that I have found in life is that a person of true strength always feels secure enough within himself to show vulnerability or express emotions; regardless of what anyone else thinks. On the other hand, a person of inner weakness feels a constant need to suppress emotions, hold back from crying, and avoid showing vulnerability; in order to appear outwardly "strong". I have also found that those who are freely able to express negative emotions, such as anger, rage, sadness, and tears; are also more freely able to express positive emotions, such as love, joy, passion, intimacy, tenderness, affection, and even sexual feelings. As for me, when I cry, 90% of the time it is when I am overwhelmed with happiness. Hence, my tears are TEARS OF JOY. For this reason, I thank God that I have always been blessed with female friends who allow me to open up emotionally and have always been attentive to my feelings. And the next time that I am at the point of tears, there is no place I'd rather be than face down on the lap of a loving female friend.

Great video. My relationship of five years ended a month ago when the love of my life decided to move on. I loved her deeply, and I can't stop thinking about her and the memories we created together. A parabel. Me and a good friend was walking through life, content with our choise of having our eyes closed. One day I opened my eyes and saw that we were at a train station, and a fantastic train was about to leave.
