Welcome to my channel! Here you can find video recordings of Orchestrions, Player Pianos, Band Organs, Music Boxes, and other mechanical music machines. My goal is to provide quality recordings of very rare orchestrions and other instruments seldom heard on the internet. Enjoy!
Bacigalupo "Soleil" - My Isle of Golden Dreams
This very rare orchestrion, dating to around 1898, is the only fully original Soleil orchestrion known today. It was originally installed in Denmark and discovered there some time in the 60s or 70s when it was sold into preservation. The original coin slot, which accepts Danish 5 Øre coins is still present, but unused. With its brightly painted band organ style facade, complete with rotating columns and two automaton clowns, it's an immediate attention grabber for all who enter the courtyard at Sigfried's Mechanisches Musikkabinett.
The Soleil orchestrions were among the very earliest orchestrions to utilize the paper roll, only surpassed by Welte who began producing roll-playing instruments as early as 1883. The Soleil's roll has 68 tracks, controlling the 42 note piano, 17 note pipe solo section, and other functions such as percussion, automatic registers, and sustain for the piano. The 22 note glockenspiel plays along with the piano and is on its own automatic register. Despite the advertising material from Bacigalupo proudly mentioning automatic rewinding of the rolls, on this example the roll must be rewound manually at the end. Each roll has 3 to 4 songs each.
Instrumentation:
Piano (42 notes), Glockenspiel (22 notes), Violin (17 notes, two ranks tuned in unison), Cello (17 notes), Bass and Snare Drums, Cymbal, Castanets

I realized I had forgotten to post this one back in July when I visited Sigfried's Musikkabinett, so here is the "usual" piece which is played during some of the Museum's regular tours. I apologize for cutting off the first few seconds of the song! If anyone can help identify the title of this song, please leave a comment!

(READ DESCRIPTION!) Canobie Lake Park Wurlitzer 153 - Dance of the Demon
Переглядів 4123 місяці тому
PLEASE NOTE: The organ was NOT playing at its best here, partially due to overdue maintenance but also the cold, dry weather. Only one trombone was playing, the bells didn't come on at all, and there are tons of dead or incorrect notes. This organ unfortunately seems to be sounding worse and worse by the year, and I hope the park will see the importance of servicing it soon before it gives up t...

Lochmann "Original" Style 100 - Soldatenherz
Where is this located at I really want to see it but Im in Findlay Ohio but what country is this in or state😮
Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany
Oh man sometimes I pick the places where they're very far away :(
Also I'm the creator of raggedy ways Carousel company (minus me being 12 it's my company and I like to make these gorgeous things:] ) plus I really love carousels
And I also love organs band Oregon piano organs jazz organs Street organs and more 😊
@AaronB it would also be kind of exciting if I told you that I would also make my own museum called "Raggedy Way Museum" plus there would be an actual carousel in the museum - Raggedy's Way Carousel Ride - including that there would also be an WurliTzer 153 on this carousel because I plan to put it on there I'm not sure how to find one but you'll see once I make this Museum when I'm a grown up I hope you will enjoy the music on the Orgen :)

This orchestrion is so beautiful!! Love that you filmed the internal mechanisms
Hoonkie trombones
Thanks for sharing! This is a ragtime song from probably the 1910-1913 period. To me it sounds familiar, maybe one composed by Albert von Tilzer.
Such brilliant engineering! Thank you for giving such a clear image of all the moving parts, wowzer.
Very nice video! I wish I had gotten better footage of this orchestrion when I was there but I was in a hurry. Nice to get a good view of the entire machine.
Can you still buy those beauty’s
I love how the name implies the orchestrion has the instruments “piano,” “accordion,” and a “jazz.”
Gjfgkgk GT rutkejtjr❤❤
Where is this organ? I wonder if it might be possible to connect with the owner because I am interested in finding out where they got the recut roll. I am looking for some for some for another Welte Philharmonic organ like this one.
Siegfried's Mechanisches Musikkabinett, Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany
@@aaronbergeron56 Thanks!
Do they even currently have an organ caretaker?
I'm not sure. Probably not.
Dance Of The Demon
Wouldn't "mein kleiner grüner Kaktus" be a better option for this late Welte (grün) ?
It’s interesting how this mini Orchestrion uses what is essentially a disc music box disc formed into the shape of a cylinder! I’ve seen Orchestrions with actual discs before, but this is taking it in a completely different direction!
Yes this was Mr. Lochmann's patent and was one of the latest developments in the field of barrel pianos. The hollow steel cylinder (really more of a band or loop) is much easier to mass produce than a pinned cylinder, and also much lighter weight to change and to store. A great idea IMO. I *think* the patent dates to 1907 but I don't have it yet to confirm. Since Paul Lochmann was one of the original inventors of disc music box technology (he was one of the founders of the Symphonion Musikwerke, before he left later to found his own company which built pianos like this and also some very fine late disc music boxes), he was always experimenting with new improvements to get his instruments to sound better and better, and also have mechanical innovations.
Awesome 👍👍😎
Très beau piano Lochmann. Merci pour le partage.
This is amazing. Other than being slightly put of tune, the effect is remarkably close to a live dance orchestra. Thanks for sharing!
Nice rag
Who made this beautiful replica?
Jens Wendel around 1994.
Sounds like the original song of the spongebob backround Music i think
I think i've heard the torenmortier play this song
There is a video of it playing this song.
Not the "Cecile Waltz" but almost ...
Beautiful 1920s sound!
Bloody Wonderful!
This tune seems directly inspired by "Valencia", but it is different
"On Top of the World Alone", sung by Maurice Chevalier (maybe others as well, but he commes to mind first)
Yes! I love this song!
I do too! It was definitely on the list to record but imagine my surprise when it turned out to be the first roll I grabbed! It certainly sounds better here than the 2014 video as well!
It has echoes of his earlier hits "Margery" from 1898 and "Hiawatha" from 1901. But is still a distinctive piece.
This is almost certainly a Charles N. Daniels composition, either under his real name or as "Neil Moret" or "L'Albert". It might be his two-step called "Mary", but I need to find the sheet music to check, since it doesn't appear to be on UA-cam.
I found a recording of "Mary" and it is indeed this tune! Thank you for helping identify it!
@@aaronb5060 You're welcome! Glad I was able to help! I only heard or sight read that piece once many years ago, and have misplaced the sheet music, So I couldn't remember how it went.
I also didn't know any existed!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Although this one also needs work, Thanks for sharing! One of these is on my wishlist to get.
Too bad about the ciphering notes, but glad to actually see and hear this play after seeing it in the background of several other videos!
Aside from the ciphers it plays perfectly!
This thing needs to be worked on
I found the patent for this years ago, didn’t know any survived! Thanks for uploading.
I think they play that roll permanently!, about time they changed it!
It’s a special custom roll with this song 4 times back to back so it doesn’t have to be rewound every time it is played. The museum chose this song since it is fairly short. This is the same case with the Lösche which also has a special roll with Valencia 4 times.
Badly in need of tuning!
where is this
Siegfried’s Mechanisches Musikkabinet in Rüdesheim, Germany
Interesting instrument! I never knew Bacigalupo had produced any of these.
I would like to go see this
It's well worth the visit!
Do you by chance also have Somebody Come and Play from this roll too?
Happy 55th Anniversary, Sesame Street!
Do you know what key these songs from roll 13162 are played in? 1. That's What Put The Sweet In Home Sweet Home 2. Where The Shy Little Violets Grow 3. Sally Of My Dreams 4. You Can't Take My Mem'ries From Me 10. Sweethearts On Parade
