they only work if you hold the use button
Climbing gloves can get you killed sometimes when trying to go through tight spaces in cosmic ocean, so probably not worth it

That sequence at 43:37 gave me a good chuckle.
I know this is about 11 months late to this video's upload date but just after I got the best run I have ever gotten and I beat the game in sub 7 with no teleporter and no prior running experience speedrunning. I got a bomb box on a 1-3 shopkeeper and 2 more boxes plus a jetpack on a 2-4 shopkeeper and actually played well and used them properly.

You will not die if you dash into a wall. The mod has changed significantly since this video was uploaded, but I'm pretty sure this is still true.

I'll make another video for that challenge if I can think of something else interesting that I can do with it. Most likely some kind of Sunken City run. However, I'm currently busy with other projects. So, don't expect another video for that mod anytime soon.

quick question, why dont you ever do ankh skip in 4-3?
I think saving the Ankh is unnecessary for the kind of runs that I do. I would only want to keep the Ankh if I was going to Cosmic Ocean.
Mod details: -Skulls become explosive once you pick them up. They remain explosive even if you put them down. -Bombs have been replaced with the ability to spawn skeletons near you. Sometimes the skeleton will spawn in a bad place or the skull will break after killing it, which is unfortunate. -You can press the Rope button to turn into a ghost for up to 10 seconds. I personally don't have any use for this other than to prevent fall damage in some situations (see 9:53 for an example). I think it would be cool if you could teleport to where your ghost is. That way the player can go upward without ropes. Although, most players will be using other mobility items anyway. -The Door button can be used to revive certain entities. This is probably most useful for reviving pets or Qilin (Note: Mounts will be untamed after being revived).
I was wondering about spawning 1-3 skeletons randomly instead of just 1 to mitigate the skulls breaking thing, but it's already quite offset by there being quite a few skulls lying around already. I could also make the spawn region smaller so they're less likely to appear in awkward spots...? I like the ghost teleport idea but might be a bit too strong, especially for a mod calling itself a challenge run? (I do like using bodies as trampolines with the revive mechanic but obviously that's pretty weak and unreliable) Using the ghost to negate fall damage is neat haha, I hadn't considered that! Thanks for the upload :)

Another cool challenge mod by supware. This one replaces your whip with a mattock and allows you to place the blocks you've destroyed with it. Rocks can be used to increase your mattock's durability and you die if the durability reaches 0. A durability counter is the only thing I think is missing from the mod. If that gets added, then I might try to do some kind of speedrun for this mod.
Some people have said they’d like a durability counter; others said it’s better without, to stay true to the mattock so to speak. What do you think about a kinda compromise where the UI displays a mattock symbol that degrades every 10 durability or so like Kingu’s back?
@@Supware I think that idea is fine. You can also make the durability counter an option that can be toggled on or off. Something else I noticed is that the durability decreases regardless if a block is destroyed. So, it's possible to swing at nothing until you die. Could you make it so that the durability doesn't go down unless a block is added to the block inventory? It feels kind of bad to lose durability when hitting enemies in the air or breaking through regen blocks. I just finished a Chain Low% Duat run (which I will be uploading soon), and I use the mod's mechanics more in that one.
