Magical. Everyone. That glimpse of William's notebook. Seen pictures. Amazing to see like that though. Can't imagine what it must be like to hold in your hands. Thank you, Mr. White, for digging through those spiderwebs.

So wonderful, thank you! I adore the book. I read the Irish edition and didn't know it was classed a novel! That's something to mull over. I will be reading it many times. It's just sublime.

This is so great! Rick read William's work beautifully. Fascinating that William had such poor handwriting, but thankfully legible enough to turn into his works. I've been on Team Wm Gay as an editor for a few years but it's nice to put faces/voices to names. I am currently teaching Wm's "Queen of the Haunted Dell" to my university English students (it's a great Halloween tie-in) in New Jersey. I also incorporate a lot of Harry Crews, Larry Brown, Lauren Groff, and other grit lit writers, including writers like Donald Ray Pollock from areas that may not technically be the South but definitely are Southern as hell. Stay tuned for the last posthumous release from Wm coming from Dzanc in 2022! Thank you ALL for your interest in William's work and keeping the fire alive.

An ISR of 1,368 W/m^2 carries a S-B equivalent temperature of 394 K, 121 C, 250 F. Barring extenuating circumstances any molecular stuff caught in this solar wind would be heated to that temperature as is evident in lunar surface temperatures measured by UCLA Diviner mission, as addressed by the ISS’s HVAC design and as would be the surface of a naked Earth. Extenuating circumstance = albedo. The 30% albedo allows only 70% of the ISR to enter the terrestrial system. The equilibrium OLR would be: 1,368 * .7 = 957.6/4 = 239.4 plus S-B = 255 K aka -18 C. 288 K w - 255 K w/o = 33 C cooler GMST is garbage. 288 K, 15 C, was pulled from WMO’s/IPCC’s butt. The K-T diagram uses 289 K, 16 C. UCLA Diviner says 294 K, 21 C. HadCrut 4 says 13.69 C, 286.69 K. NOAA/GISS, RSS, UAH and JAXA speak only of anomalies, variations from some 30-year baseline average, yet oddly don’t mention what that number is. 255 K assumes the w/o atmosphere Earth keeps the 30% albedo. I consider that assumption tantamount to criminal fraud. No greenhouse effect. The so called GHGs do not affect the atmosphere’s thermal behavior. No CAGW or man caused climate change. 38:15 Book Titles mentioned: From GEORGE: Lewis Nordan, Barry Hannah, John Cheever, Flannery O'Connor, Hieroglyphics by Jill McCorkle, Lake Life by David James Poissant, Blue Marlin by Lee Smith, Big Door Prize by M.O. Walsh. FROM RON: Hieroglyphics also ("dark and sad but true and wise"), RAndall Keane (sp?!?), Chekhov. RON: "I can't read Faulkner while I'm writing -- he's just like a magnet -- he pulls you in" (George says that the author who does the same for him is Cormac McCarthy -- although he admired the earlier editions). Earlier in the interview, they both praised Denis Johnson's TRAIN DREAMS novella. I love this fun talk... Big fan of both authors.

One of the best author interviews I’ve ever seen: very insightful and constructive questions, beautifully and movingly answered. Such a powerful book, made more so by the phone transcripts and the way the story was presented.

Nashville does not have a "race" problem... People interact wonderfully, there is virtually no racial tension, and to claim otherwise is nonsense.

Can't wait to read this! Your observation about our wanting the fairy tale ending rather than dealing with the wolf is so moving and true. As a literature teacher, writer, writing instructor of personal narratives and travel tales, and interviewer who has also been collecting stories during the pandemic, too, I am so thankful you did this session and appreciate all that you've learned and shared here. Your work couldn't be more timely. And you are right. We spend so much time in the woods and so need to recover and rewrite our life stories.
