good vid, thanks! My horse bolted on me today. Was a first for me. Wish I had seen this beforehand!
😅Quero saber cuanto sube las penciones de este año 2024..
I rode many bucks, during a buck, trying to turn its head is harder than staying on 😂. Plus, when breaking a horse, they won't buck in a straight line. They're trying, and 90% of the time will succeed in throwing you off.
I know how to measure but the slide that you have you do not show where the slide starts. Mine say inches then 10 above that. I assume you have to pull the slide up to that point before measuring. I am doubting this as I am thinking my horse should be 14 hands and he came in at 13.3.
❤🐴❤🐎
Dream horse! Both the color and the smooth gaits.
Why is it always the fattest men on these gaited horses.
The horse knows where to hold his head. If one is yanking on the bit causing pain, of course he is going to toss his head to try and relieve the pain. It is not a horse problem, it is a people problem. Fix yourself, you fix the horse.
That guy looks like he's riding a carousel horse. He's way too big for that horse.
I have seen these in the Olympics I think. Quite amazing!
We need to see it in Action 😂
So beautiful horse in the mountains nd where in the mountains?
Is it in Africa or .........??
They were probably originally bred in the Appalachian Mountains.
Wow. Very cool. I found this video as I prepped to photograph a small herd of Icelandic therapy horses. This is so inspiring. Thanks for posting, and for the great work you do.
Never rode a rocky mountain but I do own a Kentucky mountain.
These horses are basically the same, and also includes the Foxtrotter.
You explain things so well in all your teaching videos . Appreciate you!❤
Pick your chin up.
I still got bucked off somehow 💀
A mountain holler is just as good as the Tennessee.
Beautiful horse! But why advertise the transition to walk when it's done like that?! The poor horse is jabbed in the mouth with harsh use of the bit and looks lame with shock afterwards
Thanks. Very helpful video. I’m purchasing a used two horse trailer tomorrow.
lovley gaits
That means too big for that horse. After an hour that horse would be exhausted
Maybe it wa young and green and just started by this rider? My 14.2 Peruvian was started by a 6’6” QH Reining Trainer whose feet dangled below her belly, but he did a wonderful job of starting her and encouraging her lovely smooth 4 beat Paso Llano ( up to canter speed) over the 5 weeks he had her. He got challenged and joked with by some neighbour for riding such a small horse ( on our Handover Ride). He just laughed & said she was the best & long after she came home, he told me just how much a buzz it was to ride her & how she would always br his first pick for going out on a pleasurable trail ride. He was a lean, balanced, soft handed rider with a lot of feel who rode off his seat bones, which compensated for his height a lot. 🙂
If you scrub through the trail walk, his legs aren't moving and he's just sliding along xD
How I miss my Rocky
it does not look natural. I got mine from Kentucky and she does not walk like that. Did you put weights on her feet wtf Who wants to ride like that on a rocky mountain?? We want a horse to be sure footed not trying to be a model. Look at how still and hardd this man is concentrating when he rides. No one wants to ride like that. We want to be relaxed and enjoying nature. Not clenched jaws watching how our horse gaits wtf WHATever.
It depends on how the horse is bred. Some saddlebreds have a natural high stepping trot if they’re bred to be show horses, other saddlebreds don’t (weights or shoes also are not always harmful depending on what kind they are. Horses are strong animals)
Hopefully there were no stacks on that horse hooves ! Look up big lick ! They are horse abusers!!!!! That man was way to big for the horse...lose weight buddy before getting back on that horse.

He shouldn’t be a trainer. He abuses horses and the ones he trains are all terrified of him.
i’ve been to his farm and those horses are not terrified of him at all, they just know not to be push overs
@@Ivy.Huesmannhe’s way too rough, like the time with the blind horse. They know if they do something wrong they’re going to get “in trouble”
Are you a trainer?
@@jeanne5044currently training two green horses 😘
beautiful inspiring work...needed now more than ever to heal human souls...
They look kinda small and weedy that guy looks undermounted ,like he's riding his daughter's pony.
I guess you never heard of the islandic horse
@Apollo The Wolf Actually it's called Islandshest where i am from. And Yes he is to big for this horse. But i still believe she never heard of There are "rural rumors" that the Rocky Mountain and Kentucky Mountain breeds may have some Icelandic ancestry. There were some Icelandics imported to the US in the 1880 to 1920 time frame. And therefore the size of this horse. Anything else "Raleigh"? 🤣
Beautiful horse, but this guy looks a little too big to be riding him.
Yeah, I thought the same thing.
I was thinking the same
The original Mtn. Horses were not as tall as other breeds. Its just the way they were bred.
@@sandyfarley260That doesn't change the fact that the rider is a bit big??
@@sandyfarley260People used to be quite a bit shorter back then too.
Umm, canter? And yes , yes they do, vey nicely.
Sounds like good advice, worth giving it a try...
Side pass is NOT in the Trick training series. FYI
I always like your method sir.
Thank you 😊 This I was told will help float train my mare
Thank you for the videos.
Why spurs??
Because hes a big stupid guy. Probably afraid to ride am appropriately sized horse for his weight. He probably needs spurs to make the horse go. That horse is going to have back problems
Spurs are probably because this rider is a jerk! Mountain horses most usually have a calm, sweet temperment, and rarely act up.
That hprse is fucking terrified of him
Turkey cruncey rate Don do it fast
Oooo.... That should work!!!
Lovely horse! Never ridden a Rocky, hope to soon!
They’re such sweet horses. 10/10 would recommend
Love these smooth gaited horses .. They're almost Peruvian Paso smooth just with better conformation (my eyes only)
I think it really depends on the breeder. We have a 22yr old paso fino was amazing conformation and great personality. There's a breeder I know of in Canada I can't say the same for and they can't even garuntee gaited..
@@artsmel8127 WOW !!! A Paso Fino breeder who won't guarantee gait is crazy and sounds kinda shady ... I visited a Paso Fino Ranch in Arkansas years ago and I've been wild about them ever since
Some Paso Finos ( NOT Peruvian Pasos), are known to be Trocha horses, ie: trot prone…. more so the Columbian lines rather than the Puerto Rican purebred lines. In Columbian Paso Finos it is acceptable to have “ trot & galop” horses. There are show classes for Trocha horses.
@@pamelahay6242the paso fino mentioned above is out of cappuccino which may have made a difference?
I couldn’t really say. I’ve owned Peruvians but worked for a friend, a highly respected Paso Fino Breeder but I’m only somewhat familiar with his Pure Puerto Rican lines although he had one very beautiful mare 1/2 Columbian I think by Bochica.
Slow Gait and Pleasure Gait can't be two different gaits because the hooves are put down in the same way (succession): left hindleg, after that left foreleg, then right hindleg and right foreleg etc. This could be "checked" in slow motion.
Actually they can be - hoof sequence is only one part of the equation. So is tempo and the type of step (is one completely on the ground as another foot is place or is the hoof coming off the ground or left the ground before next is placed) and the type of stride length - are they under striding or over striding, etc.
This is called a 4 beat gate.
So punish head tossing instead of figuring out and fixing the root issue and if he doesent stop keep him busy so he doesent have time to toss his head, as if he isnt just gonna start back up later... cool.. also if you're fixing a head tossing issue you shouldn't be concerned about frame, you should be focusing on clear signals of release..
Hmmm... Trying to think... John Lyons..... World Famous horse trainer, both kids work famous horse trainers, both kids have competed in World Championship Colt starting (Raid to the Horse), all three have hundreds of How To videos, all three have written dozens or hundreds of magazine articles on horse training, all three sell DVD's on training, travel the country giving seminars at ranches, Expos and private facilities, all are accomplished, highly skilled and know what they are doing with massive name recognition to anyone who is at all familiar with horses.. But Peanut Butter? Hmm.. can't say ANYONE has Ever heard of you.. So... given the opportunity to take advice from a skilled horseman?? I think I'd pick ANYONE named Lyons over some one named Peanut Butter... Just saying
@UCFs65bUYM5HqQ7RPnmilW3w ok.. and? Personally I couldn't give a damn how many DVDs they've sold or how many classes they've taught, what I look for in a good trainer is how educated they are, their training philosophies, how well they treat their horses, and how fact based their methods are and to me? This guy just doesent cut it. Sadly accomplishments dont mean much nowadays considering time after time its been proven that dumbasses can sell just as much as geniuses in the horse world. Take Clinton Anderson for example, the guys a fucking idiot yet hes made millions off his services, training discs, products etc. Or an examples outside the horse world, popular "dog trainer" Cesar millan, who's probably also made millions yet choked a dog till it passed out on TV and STILL has people looking to him for advice. Sure, there's lots of accomplished trainers out there that are genuinely talented but usually the reason these guys are so popular is because they sell an easy answer. Nobody wants to hear a complicated method that's going to take time, and work to solve their horses root issues. They'd much rather listen to the guy who offers a quick fix that gets them quick results, whether it actually solves the issue or not. Horses almost always have a reason to toss their head, whether it be pain, confusion or frustration, but people dont want to be told that! Theyd rather be told a quick fix that stops the head toss, rather than solves it.
Peanut Butter, How quickly you go from head tossing to anyone who sells videos is misleading people. Slow down, take a breath and have a great day. Peace be with you.
He literally addresses how important the release is and timing 45 seconds in. Not sure you actually listened to the video.
It is very good explanation sir
Awesome videos, short and sweet, VERY HELPFUL! would like to see more from you, ride on sister!
I came here after reading in a Louis L'Amour tale the phrase, "...and maybe I'm mounting on the offside..." The context gave me an idea of the meaning, but I never had noticed people always mount on the animal's left when possible. Anyway, that lil bit of phrase took me down a shallow rabbit hole that interested me and ended here. I simply wanted to thank you for making this video, and teaching this old dog a new trick.
I'm interested in this horse 🐎
Gotta love horse people and their opinions. 🙄 Good looking horse! Thanks for the video!
