Great video and content. My go to chambray is from FILSON, similarly priced among the ones you mentioned. I’ve had it for at least three years now and the indigo is still beautiful. No rips or tears either.

Denim/chambray and boots are my staples.

I have a 12oz Ironheart denim western shirt with tonal stitching and I love it as an over shirt with a thermal beneath worn untucked with khaki chinos. I also have a Tellason chambray work shirt with pocket flaps and that is great tucked or untucked with anything from jeans to olive fatigues. I would like one more shirt in this category in something that is more dressy and would work well with a tie. Considering Spier and Mackay.

Thanks for this, @PetersPrism! Gave me ideas. I've retired now. Need to downsize wardrobe (further), but i've already disposed of the clothes that don't mean anything to me. What's left all have sentimental value. But there's still too much. For example, i no longer need 7 tuxedo shirts and 23 pairs of jeans now that i'm now home 90% of the time. I'm toying with the idea of "Kawakubo-ing" my "meaningful" clothes, to (hopefully) result in some sort of post-apocalyptic tropical-weight Avante-BoHo aesthetic, thrifted from my own (compressed) closet. But i don't have a visual peg to show my friendly neighborhood tailors. Your video will help. Thank you.

The Amazon Essentials denim shirts are a great value. I have two, for about a year, they rock. Have held up well. Great episode, btw.

I've been seeing Fair Isle sweater vests and waistcoats more and more, I think they would look great against a dark chambray shirt in the colder months. My go-to pairing is a bolo tie, a pencil skirt and heeled oxfords

Chambray and denim shirts = uniform! I usually pair them with baker pants of different shades or raw selvedge jeans and then use workwear shoes like paraboot, DMs or Timb Earthkeepers…and hopefully red wings soon. 😅

I love the look, but about 70% of the year its too hot here in Southeast Asia for any sort of denim shirt, sometimes too hot even for Chambrays (unless one is an office worker). My solution has been tropical-weight linen shirts (or cotton-linen blends) in chambray-ish shades of blue.

I was looking for some Dickies pants and went to Kmart, ended up getting a great denim shirt from Wrangler for $20!

I have the earlier Goodthreads (prior to rebranding as Amazon Essentials) version of that Chambray shirt, and the fabric is lightweight but wears and launders well. That can also be said for the Amazon Essentials OCBDs, which wear and launder well and seem to punch above their price point. Not dress shirt quality, but great for a "retired to the beach house closet" kind of vibe. A pleasant surprise from Amazon.

I loves clothes. I probably think about clothes too much that it's always on my unsubcontious mind. I prefer clothes that are functional & practical because I live an active life. I am very handy with the sewing machine so I can alternate & change any details I want. It's fun to customise & improve the fit on my clothes or adding extra pockets to hold my phone & wallet.

Thanks Peter. You are correct that corporate wear had gone through many changes. My favourite looks has always been the Italian style, predominantly Armani & Zenga because they are timeless and excellent quality. Fast fashion has never resonate with me because it's design to be discarded. I prefer to keep my clothes in top condition and use it for a long time. It's more about cost per wear. My favourite clothes are natural fibres because it feels better & age better than polyester or nylon.
