You can use any soft serve mix you prefer. Here we are testing with Frostline Vanilla.

Hey, I'm having trouble understanding which number is colder, 0 or 40? I'm using this machine for dole soft serve and it's freezing up, and I'm trying to adjust slightly

You'll want to speak with whomever you purchased the machine from for the Service code. If you can get your hands on a service manual for your model, it should have it in there as well.

What brand of flavoring do you use for that blue slush?
Since our mix is used solely for testing (we do not eat this), we use a non flavored base and add color dye.
Do you know where i can find the blade assembly? (Beater) I cannot find it anywhere and ours are worned out.
You can purchase beaters and blades through your local Carpigiani dealer.

I have model 339-12 used through a reputable auction platform that claimed it was working, but haven't hooked it up yet in our small rural store. Would like to test it first somewhere before investing too much...What electrical outlet is needed and since it has sat for the past 2 years (& who knows about prior) do you feel it likely needs to be taken apart, re-lubed, possibly replace the small o-rings? Or should we just clean and try to use?
The serial plate will tell you what the electrical requirements will be. You'll want to remove all panels and inspect, motor, compressor, belts etc. before plugging in and testing.
Did you mix your own soft serve ice cream or was that using a premixed batch?

Different model - McDonalds has specific Taylor models that were designed for them.

How often do you clean the machine? Can it be sanitized daily?
Your local health guidelines should always be referenced but standard is between 2-5 days. It should be sanitized every time it's disassembled for cleaning.
Hi I just purchased this model and filled it up it doesn’t come with owners manual the vanilla isn’t coming out any idea why? Thanks
Hi @nini-alwayz, It's hard to diagnose without knowing your set-up. You'll be able to find a digital copy of your operators manual online. Your model number will be on the serial plate of your machine (many of the Taylor models look like this one C712, C713, C716, C717). I would start by double checking your power source - you can check the voltage with a multimeter. From there you will want to check for blockages, whether you are or are not hearing the compressor kick on will also dictate next steps. Hope that helps!

It's going to depend on the size of your machine your using. In this case, using the Taylor 430, we used 6 L of wine.

If you need the mix in the hopper colder do you turn the mix screw clockwise or counter clockwise?
Clockwise is (towards max) is colder - I would suggest making small adjustments, waiting and testing the temperature with a thermometer.

Why would my soft serve machine overfreeze even when it gets clean every night?
If you do not properly prime the machine before you run mix through it you can risk freezing left over water inside the cylinder from the wash. If it has been properly primed and you are overfreezing then that is a temperature issue and you'll want to adjust the viscosity.

Hello thank you for the video , this machine doesn't have an air pump,so how you get air into ice cream?
Through the feed tube it will bring in a certain amount of air but it does not have the same overrun capabilities of a pump machine.

What temperature did you set your machine to for Dole Soft Serve? I've heard that dry mixes with water don't need to be as cold liquid dairy based mixes. What I've been seeing lately is that when the temperature's not adjusted a few degrees warmer for dry/water mix it causes the Dole Soft Serve to be more frozen than soft serve, leaving it difficult to dispense out of the machine and the texture
Temperature settings are going to vary based on your environment and of course mix. A soft serve machine in a food truck in Florida summer is going to be set differently than a Michigan location. You'll want to adjust the temperature slowly until you find your ideal texture.
What do you use to make the slush base?
What do you use to make a flavorless slush that you add squirt flavor to? Just a High fructose/water bag-in-box from coke?
