Walking Way Overrated: Vlog - My Husband Says He's Going To Heaven Tonight! - Is He Really?
Life has been very fluid over these past couple of years. I hope to start updating Walking Way Overrated. For obvious reasons, my life has bee dedicated to being by my husband's side no matter what. Craig is the strongest person I know, he keeps bouncing back. He's had multiple strokes at times in over two years, lost fifty percent of his vision due to a strokes in February 2024.
Just when I am preparing for the worst, thankfully God keeps surprising me and he keeps bouncing facing. His memory is affected but not as bad as one would imagine.
Sometimes, he may have called me a different name, Mom, or a cousin, or friend or names I don't know.
But he keeps improving, knowing who. I am more than not.
His pressure wound that started this unexpected journey has continued to stabilize. He did get additional wounds in all of the three care facilities he's been in sadly (here too) . But thanks to persistent care, and then the experts (seen during his short stay in acute care because of the sudden vision loss confirming multiple strokes) checking out his lower right leg/foot wounds, including the large leg wound that was the worst I have ever seen. It was a mixed blessing. If he wouldn't have had the vision loss, we wouldn't have went to the hospital and then I wouldn't have learned about how horrific his right shin wound was. I have a photo but it's to terrible to publicly share. Thankfully this started a change in his wound care plan. I was reassuring to have a vascular Doctor on it.
Since that time Craig also suddenly lost the use of his left arm completely. Assuming it was another stroke. We just accepted it. Craig can't use blood thinners due to the February double strokes. One leaving a small brain bleed. The blood clot one was due to his Atrial Fibrillation.
Miraculously, a few weeks later, bit by bit fingers and the more began moving. I was so impressed. Craig didn't know or remember. I was thrilled to be able to keep telling him why it was a big deal!
A few weeks ago he then had two seizures in the morning. As my morning routine was being done, the RN was calling me to let me know. His vitals were very high. But I know that they can't do anything if it was a stroke. That day he stopped swallowing and speaking, mostly staring. Preparing for the possible worst. I asked friends and family to pray. Miraculously again, by the next day, it was like God flypped a reset switch.
He began swallowing, he was starting to talk more than he has in months. He also was more awake than he had been in over roughly two months. It seemed like ever since they had been trying lower lasting morphine (from what I understand.)
It has been amazing. I have learned to trust God more and to stop trying to figure things out.
He still has some quieter, low eating days, but over all he has done remarkable
Thank you for stopping by!

Vlog Life: Marriage and Disability. My Husband- Another Stroke! Another Miracle!

Craig had another unconfirmed stroke Monday August 12. Could talk or swallow. Miracles just keep happening! Here he is doing better than I’ve seen in months! God just keeps blessing us. Thankful for each and every moment with this, dear dear husband of mine. Today he received his new manual tilting wheelchair. Not only does he look more comfortable, it also helps relieve pressure to avoid press...
Vlog Life: Craig Gets New Legs!! Aging and Disability. Life In Long Term Care

Today Craig received his new tilting wheelchair. This one doesn’t have a motor, but you can get ones that do so you can tilt it yourself. Tilting helps relieve pressure off your backside to help avoid and heal pressure wounds. Craig has a few. The key is to not stay in the same tilted position for too long. It’s important to actually move every 20 minutes even just 10° or 5°. When you use a man...

Is he still able to push...because they sell those power assist wheels he had. You don't have to have that chair that comes with them, you can buy the wheels separately. I'm getting the 25" E Motion wheels.

If there was a God, he wouldn't be a punishing God, and he wouldn't be having these issues. I had a friend have one stroke and it left her debilitated...she had another one and it seemed to hit the debilitated part of the brain and she was then ok...no more problems from the first stroke.

Anita...a folding chair is probably 30 pounds (14 kg) heavier than a rigid chair. I always wondered why he was in a folding chair. So if his arms are weak...get him a rigid chair with the emotion wheels. Also the emotion wheels come in 25"...which would make it even easier for him to push...plus he'd go further per push.

The first video didn't play so this one is quite confusing. You keep coming in the middle of a sentence and I have no clue what's happening. What happened to Craig? I really despise how $ is more important than people. I've been without a ramp for 2 months and was saddened when the fire department told me they didn't build ramps and it was an insurance liability. They never even thought of me as a person in a fire hazard situation.Blood thinners is NOT what wounds need to heal. They need blood to circulate and heal the wound. They are totally doing the opposite and I have no clue really what you're doing. You're not where you need to be...which is a skilled care center. If you're not in a skilled care center, Craig isn't where he needs to be either.

Was it paralyzed from the stroke?

    • @ABergieCreation
      @ABergieCreation 4 місяці тому

hi Morgan! How are you? it most likely happened from having another stroke. But it wasn’t actually paralyzed, because he could still feel. He’s gone through a lot in the last while. I thought you had to be paralyzed when it’s a stroke. But the physiotherapist here explained to me that that’s not necessarily so.

I know...I really don't like it when they assume I'm like someone else. I'm a quadriplegic from a broken neck. I have a serious autonomic dysreflexia issue...which is the blood pressure going wayyy up when something in my body is wrong. In a normal person, a blood pressure is lower when laying down. It's the opposite with autonomic dysreflexia...so there all you boo bears saying I'm just like everyone else. GRRRRR. I got so upset, I put 'quadriplegic and hip disarticulate amputee' on my VON chart because they were actually thinking I was an above knee amputee and had a femur bone. A hip disarticulate has both their hip and leg amputated. I know it means a lot to someone to hear please and thank you. This world is getting very kiss assy.

The hospital CAUSED the stroke...for them to say they 'can't do anything more for him' is balogne. You really should have sued for medical mal practice ad you'd have a private nurse at your HOME You should do a video on the importance of blood flow to heal a bed sore. Blood thinners when you have a bed sore, will not allow the bed sore to begin to heal.

You can see the beauty in the glass without light, you just have to look at it from another angle and the light will begin to reflect again ❤ I have a piece of abalone that got cracked and the cracked piece appears to not reflect and looks grayish compared to the rest of the piece but if you look at it just right, it's just as beautiful as the unbroken parts!😮 💞🙏💞

Thank you for saying that. I’m sorry I know the audio sometimes is terrible. Or challenging to listen to. But so far I haven’t been able to do my videos the way I once did on my laptop. So to make them easier to upload faster I’ve just been going directly from my phone and added onto the UA-cam app. So please bear with me, I am going to keep posting videos and I will try everything again to keep the audio better. In the one video I definitely should’ve been trying to talk when there was guys working on equipment in the background!!🤪 take care, and thank you so much for taking your time to share your thoughts.❤️

Thank you for sharing that with me Sylvia. Yes, it was a windy day. Hopefully he’ll learn how to upload videos from my phone through the UA-cam app and learn if there is a way to edit the sound better. Since we moved into long-term care, I have been just uploading directly from my phone and not using iMovie on my laptop, like I usually do. Because life is so busy, I was hoping, doing it this way with enable me to upload videos, more regularly and consistently. But I understand how frustrating it is trying to hear videos when there’s wind or equipment ready in the background like in another video I just did. Thank you for your encouragement. I will keep doing my best.😊

Thank you. That is very sweet. It’s been a challenging time since September with so many surprises and unexpected events. But such is life. By God’s grace only can we make the most of it all. I am going to try extra hard, to make shorter unedited videos, because the Internet that they have you pay for here, unfortunately, is a ADSL, and therefore much much slower to upload videos. But I hope to make it a little bit fun by being more spontaneous and random, If anybody has any questions. Would like to know about anything to do with our lives, appropriate questions on the of course. 😊 please feel free to ask. If you don’t hear for me in a while, it’s simply because I am still not used to checking feedback and comments. Thank you very much. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend.
