When using an external phono stage, will you set it on THRU, and using whatever input on your Amp except the phono input?

They'd do so much better in the US market if they got rid of that thievery distribution with the 200% markup. The products are spectacular and built as good as anything out there, but you're better off buying new from Japan seller and importing and saving 1000s in the process. In the rare event it ever needs service would still be cheaper to pay out of pocket locally for repair. And you don't need to use a step-down transformer with the JPN spec units either (common misconception) unless you're running the Class A space heaters (or Rice Cookers) that draw lots of heat and current. Class A/B, Pre-Amps and Disc Transports will run fine on US power. Japan's mains is actually 105V-107V on average at the wall hence how most JPN gear is spec'd "~100V". Well within the margin of 110-120V US power. Infact it's very common in Japan for them to run US 110/117/120V gear on their system directly as well, no issues. For all intents and purposes we have the same electrical system and they were an NTSC country as well. Same for Taiwan.

Show microscope results before and after at a live demo. Then you dont need to talk so much. But i bet the results is not much better than just doing it by hand.

It is too expensive for such a basic looking turntable. The hole for the model 6 logo and arm is a dust well, and poor design. OK it's made from resin, but that doesn't exactly look like something at this price

Nice video! Todd, I also did a demo video but with the Loricraft PRC4 AND featured your excellent Vinyl-Zyme solution as one of the cleaning steps. I won’t clean a used record without using Vinyl-Zyme and the resulting sonic improvements are consistently phenomenal. Many G or G+ records become VG+ as a result. Many thanks for putting out a great product.

TEAC certainly making some great gear these days. This deck seems to be good value, in hifi terms, since everything is nuts these days. Also the 701 series looks very impressive, with good owner feedback, and again seems to be good value in crazy hifi terms.

I've had my TN-5BB for close to a year and a half and really enjoy it. I'm currently using an Audio-Technica OC9XML moving coil cartridge into a Pro-Ject DS3 B phono pre-amp with excellent results. I also have a Technics SL-1200GR2 that I purchased a while later and though it's a very good turntable it has been relegated to my secondary system as I much prefer the TEAC due to the auto stop/lift feature. I think they are equal performance wise but it's a matter of convenience for me.

*No Highs, No Lows, must be ATC.* One of the most overrated speaker brands in the market today. Just because they produce some of their own drivers (which is rarely a good thing) which the simple-minded seem to get excited by this for some reason. Never worked out why, as a there's nothing special about ATC drivers apart from the pointless weight, which again, simpletons equate as - *quality.* If only acoustics worked on such basic parameters as weight … but they don't! It would be something if they had one or two extraordinary parameters .... but they do nothing that your standard Scan speak, Peerless, SB Acoustics, Seas driver can't do.

I have the TEAC TN-5BB top model and it is an excellent turntable. It's a shame this brand isn't more recognized and reviewed.

I have Advance Paris X-i75 in my system for over a year now.. It's a beast, and the price is just unbeatable. Very happy that this brand is finally getting all the love it deserves, starting with Cheap audio man and now you guys. makes you wonder how this is achieved for so small asking price, and makes you think about all the bloated pricetags outthere. Give Advance Paris a chance, you won't be sorry. I'm not, that's for sure...

I do something similar with a Loricraft machine. A couple things I do differently are: 1. A rinse of the record surface after cleaning with distilled water. 2. Prop the record up vertically on its edge in a clean location for an hour or so before putting it in a new sleeve to be sure it is 100% dry. Thank you for this nice explanation and demonstration.

I’ve been using my Loricraft for about five years. I think it is a great machine for cleaning records, both old and new. It is very important to read and follow the instructions that come with the machines (I’ve seen many UA-cam folks showing the Loricraft machines used improperly). The machine is quiet enough to use while listening to music. Not for everyone as it requires user involvement as it is not automated. For me it’s been a wonderful machine. The Loricraft is durable if cared for per the instructions. Fantastic machines for the serious record lovers.

The cherry version looks really great. Integrated phono reamp and the cartridge ara not usable.

I’ve listened to the whole Evoke range and the Evoke 50’s are very good speakers as you mention but I have to say the Evoke 30’s ,which I now own, have a little more finesse and control over the 50’s personally. I also compared the Evoke 30 to the Contour 20i but I still preferred 30’s in every way hence my decision to buy them. 😊

I've had the ap-505 almost 2 years , too many people sleeping on TEAC 500 and 700 series,,,this stuff is killer , IMO best deal in HIFI right now.

I needed a storage case, but that package didn't cost $500. I was glad to help the Ukrainian economy , my card was charged and I am now just awaiting a package of what should be excellent headphones in the mail. I have had about five emails about how production is going and suppose my color choice will be limited to " kickstarter green". since no selection was offered upon ordering. one color is as good as another once they are on your head, anyway.

How about buying an Ortofon test record, play the 1 kHz tone, capture it with a sound card and Audacity free software. Show us the Audacity spectrum display so we can see the 2nd harmonic distortion of a cartridge. That would be valuable. Just reading the catalog info is not helpful. I can read the Grado website myself. Grado has zero specifications for these. No stylus tip radius value. Who would pay $300 for an elliptical stylus? That's ridiculous. It very likely has a .4 Mil radius and very high distortion. No specs so who knows. if you would measure it, we would all know. I'm guessing it will have 1 % distortion on that 1 kHz 5 cm/s track. Yeah, that's right 1%.
