Auditor General accuses Finance Ministry of backdating 2023 Public Accounts
Finance Minister Colm Imbert has indicated that an independent probe will be launched into accu­sa­tions of improper and unethical con­duct by him and/or officials of his ministry with respect to the backdating of documents for an amendment to the Public Accounts of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for the financial year 2023.
The accusations were made Jaiwantie Ramdass in a pre-action protocol letter through Freedom Law Chambers.

Days after the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) posted an eviction notice on the front door of her Cypress Hills Housing Development in Union Hall, San Fernando, a couple and their two children packed up and left. The couple is said to be owing the HDC some $63,000 in accumulated arrears since 2016 for the three-bedroom rent-to-own apartment.

Two motorcars, a Mitsubishi Lancer and a silver Nissan Tiida were destroyed by fire in downtown Port of Spain on April 30, 2024. The vehicles were parked at the corner of Independence Square and George Street, when the incident occurred. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
