167: 319 Hrs Saved! Discover How Much These Photographers Paid to Gain Back This Time w/ Outsourcing
My once-yearly training + implementation program Outsourcing Made Easy for Photographers is BACK! And today, I’m beyond excited to share a special three-way episode (lol three-way 😉) with two of my incredible students, Bri & Montana. Why the pairing?
Because Bri and Montana have not only been hugely successful on their outsourcing journeys and have tons of wisdom to share with you! - like how affordable it was for them to get 319 hrs back of their lives through outsourcing, but they’ve also formed a budding friendship thanks to the OME community (which makes my heart swell with pride) 🥹
And they’re not the only ones! I regularly get feedback from my students that the community is one of the best parts of their experience. AND I also regularly get feedback of how EASY and AFFORDABLE outsourcing is with my smart outsourcing workflows!
Tune in to this week’s episode to discover:
✨ What drew Bri (a stay at home mom + photographer) to start outsourcing in her business as a struggling mom on the brink of quitting photography altogether 😢
✨ What drew Montana to start outsourcing in her business and how she was able to spot the signs BEFORE experiencing burnout in her business 💪
✨ What Bri’s life looks like now and the ripple effect that fixing your work situation has on ALL areas of your life and psyche as a stay at home mom! 🧠
✨ What Montana’s life looks like now and how it feels to experience busy season WITHOUT getting behind 💁‍♀️
✨ What you need to hear if outsourcing hasn't gone well for you in the past and why the occasional poor-fit first hire can be a blessing in disguise
✨ How Bri and Montana were able to catch each other before slipping into old patterns and how they were able to supercharge their success TOGETHER 🤝
✨ The mindset shift you need to hear if you think you don’t have the time or bandwidth to train someone else to support you in your business 🫠
✨ A breakdown of how much money Bri + Montana have spent and how many hours they’ve saved thanks to outsourcing 💸
This episode will give you the REAL scoop on what it’s like inside Outsourcing Made Easy from people who were in your shoes not so long ago, so I encourage you to soak up every last second of it as soon as possible.
And remember, doors are open NOW and will close soon for the entire year ⏰
So whether you’re teetering on the edge of burnout or just dreaming of more time to focus on the things that light you up, this is your time to make a change and to make some new business besties along the way!
You do NOT have to do this alone (nor are you supposed to). I’m here to support you every step of the way - to care about you, to challenge you… all of it. Your success is MY success. All you’ve got to do is take the first step 💛

      Aw I'm so glad to hear that! Anything new will make us feel uncomfortable to get started so it's totally normal to feel that way! We have MORE of a chance at succeeding at something we love than at something we hate because we have so much passion, excitement, and drive behind it, that if we simply continue to show up for ourselves and take aligned action towards our goal, we get to make it there! Here is someone who specialized in documentary family photography as extra inspiration! > kirstenlewisphoto.com/ You can also check out my podcast called the Shine + Thrive Photography Podcast to learn more on your journey as you start your photography business! :) Apple Podcasts > podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/shine-and-thrive-photography-podcast/id1487338226 Spotify > open.spotify.com/show/1o5B6JfgSQQAfmNs9w7Ixj

    Yes, how do you keep track???

    • @saramonika
      @saramonika 5 місяців тому

      Keep track of what specifically? Are you asking about a specific entry prompt? I mentioned at the end of the episode how I assign my VA to copy and paste ALL comment entries to the main google doc we have for entries. Also, I would challenge you (lovingly) to ask yourself the question, "If I did know how to track the entries for the giveaway, what would I do?" then the answer comes to you and you try and system, and then refine it as you go! Also check my answer to Kristen's question here in the comments! Maybe that's what you were asking about specifically? Hope this helps! :)

    I'm interested in doing this but how can I count the entries shared to stories? Like how do I even record those?

    • @saramonika
      @saramonika 5 місяців тому

      Any time you see someone reshare/tag you, you just write down their IG handle in a Google doc/notes related to the giveaway ;) So during the week you need to be on top of seeing who tags you and noting it down. But if that's your bonus entry (like it was for my giveaway entry instructions) you won't get much of those! So don't worry it won't be overwhelming :) I think I may have had about 15-20 story shares. The rest (about 1500) were tagging in comments which IMO is most effective to keep the energy up of the giveaway and get more reach! :) Did this help?

    • @Kristenwynnphotography
      @Kristenwynnphotography 5 місяців тому

      Got it. I wouldn’t be able to remember to check all the stories every day - do you make sure people are not “private” on there because if they are you can’t see their stories/you can’t tell if they follow you etc? I ask because there are strict giveaway rules in the US. You have to list what states are allowed to enter and you have to also provide an alternate way to enter without online I believe AND you can’t require a follow as an option I think. I know IG is hard on giveaways/contests!

    • @saramonika
      @saramonika 5 місяців тому

      @@Kristenwynnphotography Thanks for sharing! Two things: 1. If you tell your mind "I wouldn't be able to remember to check all the stories every day" then that will be true. If you choose to prioritize it and make sure to check once every 24 hours, then that will be true too. You get to choose how you want to approach it and what's important to you! 2. Every time someone shares to a story, I get a notification on IG about it so I can just check those notifications once a day and see who shared! Good question I never thought about not being able to see that private accounts tagged me. I assume we would be able to because we were tagged and it's in IG's best interest to notify us! 2. I'm in Canada so I don't know all the rules in other countries etc. (and also to be honest I don't know the rules in Canada either I just put this together while I was inspired in the moment), so I'm not the one to ask about "rules" advice! I'm sure someone in the photo community can give you more legal advice!

      My pleasure! I've personally never explored hosting my website on my online gallery provider since I had a website long before that was really an option. I use Squarespace for my website at the moment! That's up to you! Ask yourself the question: If I already knew what I wanted do to, what would that look like?

  • @RM-nj8nj

    How is Pic-Time's print quality? Are your customers satisfied with the quality of the work product for the various items purchased? I ask because I assume wedding customers expect top quality prints.

    • @saramonika
      @saramonika Рік тому

      Great question! Pic-Time doesn't own a lab directly but they have partnered with SO many labs in North America (and maybe other places in the world but I'm not sure since I only care about the Canadian labs as I'm in Canada), and so you get to choose your lab that you want print products to be ordered through! They are professional labs only accessible to pro photographers so yes the quality is there :) You can always order test prints or go in in person to the lab if it's near you if you want to check that! I use GTA Imaging in Toronto, Canada and I've never had a complaint about the quality! My clients love them! You can also choose for the order to be sent to you first if you want to quality check and then send to the client, but I have full trust with my lab and I have the drop shipped directly to whoever orders the print products to save me time. If I wanted to spend the time quality checking and wrapping them specifically, I would raise the print prices to reflect that experience I would provide. The cool thing is that it's all up to you and I love all these options that are available through Pic-Time :) I hope this helps! ☮

    Sara congrats on your sweet baby! I have been thinking about changing out collection numbers, example collection 1,2 and 3 to a name that kinda explains the coverage! What are you thoughts on that? our most popular collection being the middle, eight hours Esession, 2Photographers and album credit! Maybe call it “popular”

      Aw thank you Aleson! :) I personally think it's a great idea to name your collections in a way that represent your brand, who you are, and who you are attracting as your ideal client for the collections to feel more aligned and for you to stand out with your uniqueness. BUT at the end of the day, what you name your collections isn't the thing that you should spend a ton of time on since what is within your PDF (showing the value clearly in what you offer) and how you show up as your brand is what will all be the much bigger deciding factor on whether someone books with you or not. So don't spend too much time on this. Set a timer for yourself for 20 minutes and go with your gut and move on. That could always be updated in the future if you get more clarity! And if you wanna learn how to nail down your niche and how to show up in a way that attracts your dream clients, I suggest checking out my Crystal Clear Marketing mini course! > courses.saramonika.com/crystal-clear-marketing-enroll you'll also learn how to find out those 3 words that describe you and your dream clients to their core through a lesson and exercise in there which is so valuable to get clarity on and use throughout your messaging on your IG, website, and Price guide! I hope this helps! <3 :)

    Wow! Loved this so much. I know this is kind of a separate topic than the whole price guide, but I found it interesting that you take the final payment two weeks after the wedding! I'm curious to know if there is a specific reason for this? I've always kind of went with the idea of taking the balance two weeks or a month beforehand, but I kind of hate it. Love that you do it differently!!

      Glad you enjoyed it!! :) Yea I used to take the remaining balance one month before, but then when the pandemic happened, and many times my automated emails would go out reminding them of their remaining balance being due when we still weren't sure if their wedding would happen, so I decided to switch it to 2 weeks after, AND on top of that, I'm able to try upselling them on an album if they didn't initially opt in for one and I mention I can simply add it to their remaining balance on their invoice (they tend to have more funds at this point too after receiving money at the wedding from friends and family).

    I definitely have limiting beliefs. I am currently reading a book about shifting your mindset and everything you’re saying is brought up a lot in the book. I worked with a business coach about a year ago and finally raised my prices but I have been feeling like I need to raise them again and was feeling held back by my thoughts. This has helped me learn how to feel worth it and do the work that will show me and my clients that I’m worth it! Thank you!

      Aww I appreciate you Mikayla! I'm so glad this has helped you and I love this strategy because the risk to raise your rates a little at a time with every few bookings feels very mitigated :) To all your success! <3 :)
