Your plan to try a 4408 decoder in the 4-4-0 " Eureka" is a very good idea, especially if you like operations with batteries and wireless controls. Your 4408" does not differ much from my Tsunami2 DSD model 4400" installed on this American classic "Glenbrook" as seen in the video under test with an MRC Prodigy Advance2 in DCC System for better operation and performance. What you see here is a American classic replica under 1:22.5 Large scale and is not designed for kids under 8 years of age¡¡¡,... in this case , kids can only observe its operation but they will not be able to play with it or they will break it without any knowledge¡¡¡,.. I will explain to you, the module that you see in my hands is for the regular DC system ,that comes attached to the factory with the Locomotive, this device will only grant your Raton 2-6-0 {smoke,lights and movements} , as these Bachmann 2-6-0 models Do Not come equipped with soundecoders, but you have the option of adapting or installing different types of universal soundecoders for all systems or ways in which you want to use your Locomotive, be it Analog with sound, Battery, DC with sound, regular DC or DCC system, etc''.... You have many possibilities Brother''... for this reason , I bought this Tsu-SoundTraxx and I installed it as you saw here ''.... I made it easy ,.... Thank you very much for your words, I hope my explanation will be of great help to you at the right time. in my case, I did not require any type of welding to install my old SoudTraxx Soundecoder module, because as I had told you before, these Bachmann ''G'' Locomotives give you the possibility of making installations or projects much more practical and easy. I simply swapped out your regular DC system factory module for my DCC SoundTraxx Soundecoder module , in other words do a ''Plug-and -Play Socket''. Now this old DCC SoundTraxx Soundecoder module no longer exists on the market { sold out already } but there are still hundreds of the same manufacturer with much better technology and more advanced for all projects that may exist in the case of Locomotives, whatever they may be. In another of my many videos, about this same steam model 2-6-0, you will be able to see and better understand what you want to do if you want to install a DCC SoundTraxx Soundecoder module . in the same way you must have received the Historical and Technical leaflet attached to your new Raton Locomotive, in which it explains in detail how you should keep it in optimal conditions,its maintenance, greasing,cleaning, electrical installations and operations among others. Cultivate and you can fulfill your dreams. A good tip Friend: if you do not have the necessary experience when doing electronic work with digitized decoders or soundecoders modules, I suggest you ask for help so that you avoid damaging your equipment , there are many sites and stores that do this type of work for Hobby, if you have doubts or you do not understand something , ask for help, sometimes these installations or changes tend to be a bit complicated,....... ok Friend'', I hope you understand me and do not feel offended,ok..'' Friend if you oberve this video well you must have noticed that all the test I do here is with a MRC Prodigy Advance 2 Digitized in DCC System optimizing in this way said Universal SounTraxx installed in this Semi-Mogul 2-6-0 transformed by hand by me.
