not sure if I'm hearing incorrectly but the way he says "atashi" then proceeds to change it to "watashi".....considering the meaning behind the song this is really fitting. .Atsushi is a brilliant performer/lyricist and a beautiful soul.
Could you explain what the difference is in Japanese?
@kabukiman2153 There are many ways of saying “I” in Japanese, and each of them has a very different tone. "watashi" is the gender-neutral, while "atashi" sounds much more feminine and is often used by women only. The way he corrects himself can be seen as him reforming himself to the societal norms or even a slight reprimand along "oh,how could I forget, I'm not a women i can't say this" which is quite subtle but genius to get the feeling across to us.

A fictional character, created by Sakurai. It's a transgender teenager who doesn't feel comfortable in a small town. The word "Hizumi" means "distortion".

Chills. Ive seldom had a song pose a question of "what to do", or "how does this make you feel", so directly. Truly this band was masterful in storytelling and setting the stage. The curtain closes on an era, but I hope they continue on as long as possible. 櫻井敦司さん-お疲れ様でした😢
@nt.2549 No matter how many times I've seen this masterpiece, I still have chills every single time. Tears start the exact moment when Atsushi looks right into the explosion, bright flash of light... one second can change everything. And now he is gone, his bright light shining no more. 😥 The direct question "What about all of you, how do you feel?" goes straight to the heart. And the reminder of "Someone is killing someone even now" is a reminder that closing your eyes will not make the terrible things around us stop. Incredible and amazing, that a song could convey so much.
