Slide show of my dad's 1996 Chevrolet K1500 that I did some body work on and repainted. I also did a little surprise for him, a custom paint job on the tailgate to honor his service in the Vietnam war. Also a "BIG THANK YOU" to all of you who have served in our great U.S Military.

2004 Toyota Sienna Expansion Valve Location
Переглядів 19 тис.7 років тому
In this video I show where the expansion valve is located on a 2004 Toyota Sienna. I also show that you can get to it without removing the dash as the manual i found said you had to. sorry i do not show every step involved in getting to it.

I luckily found a used one on EBay. The one from the dealership was pretty pricey. Eventually sold the motorcycle and not sure how the used one held up.

If possible , can you send me step by step instructions on how to get to this part specifically please. I cant see what is required to get to it in the video but it seems like mine is leaking from this exact area. Thank you so much for the insight. I really appreciate it

Sorry, after three years without the car in front of me, I don’t think I can give you more than what’s in the video. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since then.

Thanks just showing you got it out let me do the same, why did you have to change expansion valve? It looks like my lines are leaking, dye all over the foam and spots on ac lines. It's not easy by any means unless you've been doing this sh*t for years :), even then it's under dash work pita. People looking to do this disconnect battery! remove glove boxes, 3 fan screws, ECM & the wire holder next to it (1 bolt) then start taking the Phillips screws out of the lower unit and ALL the 10mm nuts you can find up top, under the carpet, behind the console. A couple of wiring plugs towards the middle and try to separate the top and bottom. If it doesn't come apart you missed screws. Then just wiggle it out of the vents and down. I'll try to post a video in a week or 2. It is just kind of looking at it and figuring out what to remove. If you honestly only do basic bolt-on car repairs I'd take it in...

I was replacing the compressor for a friend and the kit he purchased came with a new exv and desiccant bag so i replaced everything that was included.

Just FYI, it took me about another ten minutes to get the hose back on using the same tools I removed it with. The only thing extra was i tied a piece of fishing line to the hose clamp so i could pull it back into place.

Sorry it’s frustrating to you. My main purpose of the video was to show the location of the txv and that it was possible to get to it without removing the dash.

Tim Morgan I'll be doing this on the weekend. Very helpful to know the dash doesn't have to come out like the newer models
