Hey man, this is exactly what I was looking for. I had read a lot about radar hunting, but I just like having a visual guide to check I'm doing it right. It stresses me out to follow a long procedure and not get a result because I was doing it wrong all this time! Let's see how soon I get my ifrst radar shiny!!

I wanted to do a shiny quest in pearl because of the radar and decided to try just send all sinnoh pokemon over from my hg save to see if i could get the radar early and ye you can get it and the app as soon as you have surf so like 5 badges

Is there any way to complete the dex in 2024?

I'm actually going crazy. I've been at this for hours now and my chain keeps breaking, either between 15 and 20 or between 35 and 40 encounters. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. In another video I watched, the guy said that he got a 40 chain first try twice in a row, I feel like my game's just saying no.

Do you have to have all 492 cataloged in your dex before you may shiny hunt? I can't get mine to work. It gives the message about "...not right now". If I do have to have all 492, then I guess I won't be chaining 💩. So sad.

I wish I knew all these rules when I was hunting as a kid. I remember I spent so much time hunting ditto and got as high as a 42 chain once, but I didn’t know that you can just keep resetting once you hit 40 and I never got that shiny 😭 this video will definitely be useful when I redo the hunt, thank you!

I literally just opened up my ds to reset my radar at a 40 chain and my chain broke 😭😭😭

if you reset because of something. (reset as in reclick the y button after charging up) do you have to use the radar in the exact same spot as before also can you save the game while being in a chain?

I am so relieved I watched this, I had no idea that catching the pokemon increased the chances of it reappearing, I pretty much never caught the pokemon during chains. But I also thought you only needed a chain of 30 odd ^^;

Well, thank you. I tried it and by 12 on catch chain i caught beatiful pink murkrow. Gotta be kinda lucky 1/5328 :DD Not mentioning i played fire red last year and got full odds geodude and gastly while just going quickly through game :D

Welp, I guess we're gonna go grab a shiny Sentret in the future Edit - completed three chains so far. Two for Sentret, one for Eevee. Very helpful guide for getting started.

Thank you very much. After 5 hours I finally got the shiny Ralts I wanted. Am so happy!!! I wasn't sure if I had the patience to sit there using the poke radar but it paided off.

if you fight every trainer in game before the elite four, you should have all the pokemon registered in the pokedex. gamefreak or wtvr made it that way on purpose. its like that aswell in the remakes.
