1999年に誕生したラグレイト（北米名ODYSSEY） V6 3.5Lで 両側電動スライドドア フリップダウンモニター等世界初の装備でミニバンのスタンダードを作り出したRL1型 2024年25周年記念MTを静岡県で開催します。 興味のある方はご参加ください。ゲリラ的に無許可で集うのではないのでご安心ください。そして前記の様に許可をとっての集まりなので事前にご連絡ください。

RL1型はベントモーターが動かなくなり3列目の窓が開かなくなる持病があり長年オーナーを悩ませていた。開けると閉まらなくなるので動かさないと言う人も。対処法は動かないモーターを交換することだったが故障の原因が特定できたので海賊の様な直し方をＵＰ ＃（心配なら動くモーターの抵抗値を実測し相当の抵抗をハーネスに付ける）

大変お待たせいたしました 第40回 ハイエナオフの開催日が決定しました。 2024/4/13-14日 埼玉県加須で行います。ハイエナオフは丸車を自分たちでばらしてパーツをもぎ取る集まりです。欲しいパーツがアッセンでなく手に入ります。また、自分の車では怖くて出来ない事を試すこともできます。 今回、記念すべき第40回はUS仕様のRL1になります。カナダでもなくUSなのでバラスのがとても楽しみであります。 パーツが欲しい人。興味のある方はぜひご参加ください。 一般的日本の道徳をもってご参加ください。 なお好き放題暴れまくる方も昨今見受けられるのでその場合は躊躇なく110番通報させていただきます。

I like that silver one with the carbon fiber hood❤ Did the tan Odyssey get those wheel covers-hub caps chromed or did Honda sell those?
Thanks, the car with the carbon fiber hood is mine. The wheel caps that the tan color i.e. mesa beige color car is equipped with are not genuine parts plated by an individual.
@@user-ge7ne4qu9s oh really , your Odyssey is nice and clean. Are those Volk Racing wheels? Or Koenig? Here in usa many companies made fake wheels with a similar style.

This car is an Odyssey, not a LAGREAT. This car won awards at many shows, but now it is dismantled and no longer exists. For reference, the sunroof on my Odyssey is a sunroof removed from this car.

Niceee, I basically never open them as I hear these motors fail so often. My rear quarter windows leak a little bit of water sometimes when it rains👎
If you apply the method I suggested in my video, you don't have to worry about opening and closing. The leak in your car may be caused by a deteriorated and cracked sealant in the groove of the roof, from which rainwater is entering. Cracks are especially likely to occur at the bolts that attach the roof rails. Another cause is a loose bolt securing the vent motor to the glass. If you press the black circle on the glass with your finger and it moves, it is loose and water will not enter.

RL1s were actually made here in Canada. The later generations are made in the USA. They're becoming a rarer sight even over here because of their age and the transmission issues. RL3 and newer are still common though, I drive a midnight blue RL3 but the paint is peeling pretty badly. It's very interesting to me that these vans have a niche in Japan when they're mostly overlooked here. We like to import JDM cars that are perhaps more mundane over there so maybe it's not surprising the opposite is true.
I am aware that all Japanese edition RL-1, or LAGREAT, are also made in Canada. However, this car had a VIN NO of 5FNRL, so I listed it as an American RL1 is very rare in Japan. This is very interesting because Japanese import USDM as Americans import JDM.
@@user-ge7ne4qu9s Oh I see what you mean, because it's a LHD Odyssey not a RHD LaGreat. I've noticed that all of the Odysseys imported to Japan are USDM which is interesting because I would have thought Canadian models would be preferred for the km/h speedometer.

My ODYSSEY is a Canadian model and is equipped with an engine core heater, which is very convenient. The temperature in Japan is higher than Canada, but we have more snow than any other country on earth, so the Canadian model is very convenient.

@@user-ge7ne4qu9s Ah I see, it's a prestige thing then. Canadian models are typically better equipped for winter climates yes, like the Hokkaido versions of Japanese cars. Mine doesn't have a core heater but the windshield washer tank is about twice the size of the American model and I have heated seats.
Where do you get those window visors? I have only found the little ones here in the States . . .
This is for Japan only, so the only way to obtain it is through auctions, etc. in Japan. I have a spare, but I am not willing to ship it because I have had trouble with overseas shipping.

Tafetta White originally i see why he painted it gray, the paint starts peeling horribly on that color.
This car was originally purchased from an acquaintance of mine, and at the time it was terrorized with paint stripper, causing the paint to peel off and making the car look like a rat. After I gave the car away, the next owner's young daughter painted it this color as a DIY project.
How many RL1 still on the road in your club Hyenas?
As of today, my club has about 135 members, 156 cars in active service and 12 cars for parts.

初めまして、最近USオデッセイに乗り始めた物です。 2002年の後期なんですが今のところAT問題ないんですがワコーズのATFの添加剤を使ってみようか迷っています。 ATFのフィラーはエンジンカバー外せばアクセス出来ますか？
はじめまして。 仲間でワコーズの添加剤を入れてる人がいますが非常に良い効果があると言う方と使用して直ぐに不都合が出たと言う方の2つに分かれて個体差なのでしょうが博打になるようです。もはや入れると良い悪いは宗教的な意見になるので明確な答えは永遠に出ない気もします。極めて程度の良い個体ならば良い結果になり普通の消耗してきている個体だととどめをさすことになると私は考えています。結果純正ＡＴＦを2マンキロ程度でこまめに交換する事を仲間の多くはしています。（壊れても純正ならば諦めがつくｗ）ATFはエンジンカバーを外さないでもアクセスは出来きます。上にＡＴＦのクーラーパイプがついた24×1.5ｍｍのボルトが44ｎ.ｍで締め付けてありますから外せばＯＫです。ただUＳオデッセイとのことラグレイトの様にリコールを受けてない個体が多いのでクーラーパイプが付いてなくボルトだけの個体も多いかと思います。

Are there many RL1 Lagreat registered and driving in Japan? Or most off the road sold for parts?
I estimate that about 13,000 of these cars were registered in Japan in all, and that perhaps 4,000 survive today. It is recognized as a car with a high survival rate for a car that has been on the market for 25 years.

Yes. However, compared to Japan, there are many new OEM parts available in the U.S., so I don't think you will have a severe problem for a few years yet. In Japan, the idea of actively using OEM parts has not yet fully penetrated users.

In Japan, a car that is more than 10 years old from new registration is subject to a tax that makes you think it is the devil's work. Therefore, even a beautiful car becomes difficult to maintain and will be dismantled next week.

nice RL1 RIDE ALONG, what kinda replacement radiator do you use in JAPAN. I just installed a DENSO but I hear they are not that good made in Taiwan.
Even in Japan, the non-genuine ones are made in Taiwan or China. I think the quality is necessary and sufficient. However, the rate of defective products is high for those made in China.

@@CRAPO2011 Many North American parts are used. If a certain percentage of North American parts are not used in a certain quantity, tariffs will be applied. The main relay that often fails is made in Mexico. Many parts that fail are made in North America. But the more poorly made wives are lovely.xD

@@CRAPO2011 Were the lower control arms on the Odyssey made by Showa? I didn't know this information even though I am Japanese. I am planning to disassemble one ODYSSEY in July and I will send you the original lower control arms if you need them.
@@user-ge7ne4qu9s I don't know who originally manufactured the control arms though they are great quality lasted about 15 years. Moog brand is junk. Original Mcpherson strut and shock absorbers are made by Showa. I appreciate you sending shipping must be crazy expensive though haha
