I was weird in public on purpose/for fun a lot as a teenager, and I think it really helped when I started using a wheelchair. A lot of people describe feeling incredibly self-conscious in their chairs, which is not something I've really experienced. So I think there's something to be said for being weird in public.

You need to take up method acting. That's where you basically **become** the character that you're playing. So no more Stephanina the UA-camr who is embarrassed when she films a pirate segment at the local gym. Instead, you are Pegleg the Swashbuckler, seeking to steal treasure from the unsuspecting locals at a nearby sports center! It is my understanding that what made William Shatner so believable as Captain Kirk in the Star Trek series is that when he was onscreen then he literally became Captain Kirk in his own mind. So this is your opportunity to show off your acting skills. Stop worrying about what others think of you and instead go show all those weak-minded and poorly dressed people in shorts and sweat pants that they are no match for the feared one-legger with a camera! 🤣

Great walkthru of the options.

I will add as well if you have limb sensitivity issues there are “socket-less” options that offer more adjustability or can eliminate the need for a liner. My prosthetic uses socks instead of a liner and I would consider the Martian Bionics socket-less products as well.

Some CRPS amputees I’ve seen have the pin in the bone. However, it’s easier got it to get infected.

you forgot the strap method i have a strap on the bottom of my liners where the pin would normally go it goes thru a slot in the bottom of my socket and back to a loop on the top and holds with velcro

I would add that the foot you try can affect how well you walk. The first one I tried was too stiff and I had to really work to flex it and get the energy return. The next one was great and I walked right away without difficulty. The suction system was great when I had a really snug fit. Steady and great control. Ah…then sweat. The pistoning was significant when the liner got sweaty. The other disadvantage of the suction system is that the sleeve comes farther up your leg which makes some pants difficult to wear. You might have to pull your pants down to access everything. I’ve heard this is frowned upon in public spaces. The osseointegration is definitely the fastest to put on and off. A quick snap and then twist of the connector and go. And it goes on in the correct position every time.

How many pairs of crutches do you have?

Good thing you're only missing a foot and not an entire leg, because then you'd have to consider different knee options as well as feet.

I never realised that choosing your foot was much harder than picking your nose. . .
