What I learned on the Internet
Приєднався 5 лют 2020
Seems self-explanatory but, that’s what it is. What I learned. I started this channel with the hope of distilling some of the knowledge I’ve gained on various topics through google searches and endless hours of UA-cam videos. Often there is A LOT of irrelevant information, bad camera work or just too many “um”s and “uh”s. Hopefully some of this information is of some use. To someone. Somewhere. Somehow.

Polaris Ranger prop shaft pin removal..., Or, how I learned to get the right tool for the job

Join me on a fantastic journey to finding the right tool for the job. Along the way I fail to accurately describe what the job is or why it is necessary. Please enjoy!

What I learned about filling your tractor tires for added ballast.
Man thanks for the video!! Had the same problem on my 2017 RZR 1000 S. Spent way too much time with a punch and hammer to no avail. Saw your video so went to Harbor Freight and got the air hammer. WOW, out in a few seconds!! I used a 1/4” air hammer punch.
Did you have to take out the clutch or the front? what year is your ranger
Thank You! You saved me a lot of blood.
Air hammer works every time
I was able to beat mine out with a punch but I tell you what that's got to be hard for that front differential so I went and used a bolt in there and now I hear something a little lose sound I don't know if it's because of the bolt in there it's tight but you can Wiggle That Joint just a little did you put a Bolt & Nut in and how does it work
Now we know why Dwight Schrute had a beat farm
Hammer and anger with homemade punch.
Every new job you do...you get new tools!! That's my new catch phrase!
Thank you for this post my friend, now.... worked like a charm. I got a new pin with my u joint and might just put the pin in instead of the bolt i bought. Thanks.
Mine came out one way easy and not a chance the other way, I used a three foot pice of rebar that I made into a punch and a five pound hammer. Good luck. I did have to cut out part of the battery box on my Polaris four wheeler when I replaced that shaft.
It worked! Thx for the information.
That’s awesome! You are very welcome.
How did it turn out? I'm about to start this same nightmare 😩 Did you rebuilt the front differential?
So far so good! Unfortunately I still haven’t had all the seat time I’d like to give long term results. I replaced the prop shaft and rebuilt the diff and replaced the steering box. Installed the steering stops to protect the (third set of) axles and now it REALLY turns like a bus. When I rebuilt the diff, lots of good videos on that, I was concerned I might’ve been out of my depth. The truth is if you can keep track of 20 parts in a build you’ll be fine. And when I say 20 that’s conservative. That’s a rough count of getting TO the diff. The diff itself isn’t as crazy as I thought. But just like the videos PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION to all the parts locations,l and orientations. Like the big round spring clip. My new cage didn’t sound real smooth out of the box but just a little hand cranking took the burrs off. So far it hasn’t exploded. (WIN!) But I’ve only put less than 100 miles on it. Thanks for checking the vid, hope it helped. If you have other questions I’ll try and answer them.
