Philadelphia Garbage Trucks- WM Mack McNeilus Rear Laoders
On my annual trip to Philly this past June, I discovered pretty quickly that Primos had replaced most of the the trucks that do Center City and Rittenhouse Square. Luckily, they did not go with CNG like most yards would have and they went with these! I think they are spec’d really well and look very nice as well. The first one that is seen is a crew that I’ve filmed for a few years now and they’re always super chill and put on a great show. A few minutes after that another one popped up so I figured I should grab some footage of that too because it’s Philly and who doesn’t love Philly commercial? Anyways, enjoy!

Nice! What a waste of perfectly good carts. Corporate america for ya. I’d have taken them and had them recycled or atleast used until they are too damaged.

Why don’t you recycle plastic? Carts can be taken a part and recycle plastics and metal.
Companies don’t want piles of carts sitting at their yards waiting for a truck to come take them.
@@PennsylvaniaRefuseTrucks so they just crush and dump on landfill where those plastics contaminate their land and take hundreds of years to decompose?
@@Josh-os4qk it’s just not economical for these large companies that have cans going in and out every day especially in cities where they just don’t have space for a pile of old carts to wait for a truck to get them drive them across the country to recycle them

@@Josh-os4qk basically, the only time a company will get a shredder to recycle carts is if they loose a giant contract and they have a bunch of carts but just the day to carts that come in broken aren’t enough to justify that

Yes, Athena sold their garbage portion of the company to WM about 2 years ago and now they only do demo and rolloff

New WM ones got delivered. The stop gets done daily so the lids and bottoms on the red cans wore out pretty quick

These kind of mini Garbage/Recycle trucks are usually from asia since asian countries have smaller and tighter roads than the us.

Nice catches. Try to come to Philly more. Because I've seen an old Grey 2002 Freightliner FL-60, 70, or 80 driving around a whole lot lately. I really want to catch it on a trash collection because I never got it on a collection before!
Oh that’s cool they still run it. It’s a FL-70. I might be going back in November. I didn’t film any of the city on my recent trips and I doubt I will in November either. Unless I see the FL-70 lol
@PennsylvaniaRefuseTrucks the truck's number is 025069. Also you should see the new International Airflos because they are pretty good. They're fast and they sound like a 2006 Mcneilus M2 Freightliner.

My city switched to one-man trucks with a robotic arm years ago. This is primitive.
Wouldn’t work in Philadelphia, the alleys are way too small and the streets are full of cars
More plastic that could’ve been recycled
Actually it could not have been, in our area all these containers are not made with the same type of plastic since they are store bought. Also the amount of metal axels and catch bars and metal reinforcement varies from can to can making it impossible to recycle.
