It’s called a mullion strip
Looks like your Pella installer is a fraud..
That is an install issue. Look at your general contractor and ask if he follows manufacturer instructions.
i have holes big enough that corsair assassin bugs craw in and bit the shit outa me
Duh! That's why it's called a "Wind? Oh!"
It's not the windows... it's the 5 illegals you hired to install them.
Put some mull casing on it and paint it !! The wind will stop
I can't even light the candle in my home😅
Smart!
you should check it for timing . my F7 2005 twisted the timing key .
Thanks! I’ll take a look at that as well.
Get an aftermarket pipe and can you'll save at least 10 pounds can't hurt the rpm I don't know what the problem is though I wouldn't run it in meth mode. 10 percent does not merit that. 😊
How did you get the jackshaft out? Did you have to cut the bearing?
I removed the jackshaft out the PTO side of the machine, after removing the Chaincase. To remove the bearing, I did have to use a press to get it off, and then install the new one-also with the help of a press.
No kidding I have been through that same ordeal before it was mentioned before in a comment but I would look at your exhaust muffler maybe put a can on it and at least try it. That’s what cured mine with the same issue.
Will do, thanks!
That's the only easy way to do it ..one man job .
I just got my rails in mail today i bought the 2604-697 updated rail kit according to there sight just curious are your rails stamped 2604-666 TIA
Just discovered my bulck head crack after dropping my plastics as well
Yeah, it stung a little when I discovered it on mine, but I’ve accepted it now and seems to be a non-issue. I just won’t jump too many approaches with it lol.
Sent mine to welder all fixed and beefed up engine performance build now over summer
You sure you need the ethanol switch for 10% i figured it was for e85. Not a big deal for me my 500gal barrel is ethonal free
Yes, you do need it for 10% blend, it sends more fuel to account for the Ethanol, which is leaner by nature. E-85 is not recommended at all for these machines.
@@Nelson_Service knew that it'd be leaner just figured the efi would account for it good to know I'll try to stick to my non ethanol then
Yeah, the modern engines can compensate for it with EFI, but the older models such as this required two different fuel maps to run properly. (Accomplished by this switch)👍🏻
@@Nelson_Service I gotcha one more question belt alignment bolt big washer long spacer two small washers than shims on the back you got a tool to set alignment? Do you know what the gap should be using the tool can't find it anywhere
How was pushing bushings in dont want to tear em up as im headed north this weekend
Not too bad, I was able to push them in without a press. I used my bench vise mostly and applying subtle, constant pressure.
@@Nelson_Service how far in did you go with your back plate it's kinda tapered wasn't sure to set it in to the bottom of taper or flush with the back I've been having those bushings kick out and destroying clutches last two years
I want to say it was flush with the back. This sled is still in storage, but I’m hoping to get it back in the shop this month. When I do, I can verify and let you know for sure👍🏻
What kind of oil are you using, I get a ton of smoke when I start mine, yours didn't look like it smoked at all. Thank you
I use Arctic Cat’s 50:1 Injection oil. It’ll smoke pretty good at start-up, but this video was shot after a short trip and after it is warmed up, the visible smoke decreases. How do your spark plugs look? There’s always a chance that maybe your oil pump is set slightly rich, contributing to excess smoke.
Thank you, pretty much the same, it is usually when it is cold that it smokes the most, less once it warms up. Plugs looked good last time I looked, but good reminder to check them out again. thank you
Hi, did you put on the handlebar extension?
Yes I did, about 10 years ago 👍🏻
thank you, look like it would be more comfortable, also with the seat.
No problem, and yes it’s VERY comfortable to ride. Also very easy to transition from sitting to standing when needed.
What size is the track?
I believe it’s 16”x156”
What a beautiful sled. The 440 suzuki is an amazingly sturdy engine if you take care of it.
Thank you! And agreed, this engine just keeps performing year after year.
Unplug the safety throttle switch? Also reach out to Red Neck Dirty Hands
Throttle safety switch was my problem on mine.Yes,Pete could help him out.He has the f7.
I did check the TSS and that turned out fine. My next step is to test my stator. I’ll reach out to the individual above as well-thank you!
I have question my f6 has 10.5 secondary clutch has crack what would cause that
It could very well. I’d be very cautious running your machine if it has a crack on either clutch. It’s best to replace it ASAP to avoid catastrophic damage to it, yourself, and other machine parts.
Where best place get new clutch from
A few options: Used-I’d check eBay and Facebook Marketplace. New: I’d try Thomas Sno Sports and Country Cat. I’ve had excellent luck with all of the above.
You won't find any new but almost all articats the older than 03s used the same sheves you may lose the rubber orange but that was put in for dust later I just got one off a 440 with similar helix though you can swap yours I toasted two secondarys in two years I believe these bushings were the cause installing new in my new to me 440 clutch using red white spring 55-52 helix and new rollers well see
Also check the boots for where the throttle body sit and check your reeds maybe your missing a pedal or 2
Will do, thank you!
What is that switch do what is it wired to what is it changing? Also get a fuel pressure gauge your not going to be able to troubleshoot properly by just assuming cause it runs its fine also pull the fuel injectors off and clean them your going to need to open the solenoid with a 12 volt DC power supply or battery then spray a good parts cleaner
That switch tells the ECU to send more or less fuel depending on what ethanol blend you are running. I did purchase a fuel pressure tester last year and it spec’d out good. Also removed and cleaned the injectors just like you described above. So, now I’m on to the electrical arena. I’m hoping to have it back in the wrenching bay this January and will post another video with updates.
Did you ever come to a solution?
Not 100% yet, but I believe I have narrowed it down to the stator. Fuel pressure was great throughout the entire rev cycle, on the test stand. So, the fuel system seems to be performing just fine. I think electrical is my only other option. I’m hoping to have the machine back in the work bay this January and will upload more videos of my findings 👍🏻
Any findings yet on the problem
You ever find out if it had a locking collar on the bearing mine is the same thing I don't have one on there
Turns out there is not supposed to be a lock collar on this bearing. So yours is correct.
This has been a big problem for artic cat they want to be light but this happens
Any tips for replacing the lower chaincase bearing with the updated design? I see the kit comes with an on ring that is supposed to get stacked between the bearing and case. I don't see how that's supposed to stay in place and do anything though
No problem-That seemed to be a common design with that era of Cats. I end up discarding that O-ring and use RTV silicone instead. I coat the outer bearing race with a thin layer of it, then insert it into the chain case housing and assemble everything else around it. Then, I let the silicone cure for about a day before I add any fluid to the case. This has stopped all my leaking problems over the years. Hope this helps.
Speaking of needing firecat help…. I cannot get my tie rods off the front A-arms! Trying to take the a-arms off to repaint. Anyone have any ideas?
Belt deflection can cause it too. They are super sensitive. I had the same symptoms and chased it for a while, changed deflection to be a little tighter and cleaned it right up
Good call-I also checked this and it's right on.
change belt and adjust defection @@Nelson_Service
I have an 03 f7 doing the same thing. Almost the same amount of miles. Mine started to flash the servo motor code so I replaced it and my power valve cables and cleaned the power valve. Same issue still was thinking it was wiring. Or maybe the voltage regulator I hear it only works your head lights and servo. Have no head light issues. Also plan on checking for wore spots in wires and grounds. Good luck let me know what it is and I’ll do the same.
Sounds really good. I did end up testing the fuel pressure, and everything checked out OK there. So, on to electrical I think.
Hey I just got mine running put roughly 80 miles on her today with no issues. Ended up being my voltage regulator. I picked one up on Amazon for $80. Wish I tried it first would have saved a lot of time and money.
2:08 is that a 295 JLO?
Good eye! It sure is-it's a parts donor for my '70 Panther 295 EXT.
hi i was wondering did anything happen when you took the speedo off the jacksahft want to check my bearing but not sure hoe
Nothing too crazy happens at that stage, you could remove the voltage regulator assembly and probably get a pretty good glimpse of your bearing.
Hated on my 03 that I had to take the secondary apart to adjust the deflection!
Yeah, I don't miss this setup on the newer machines...that's for sure!
99% sure it's your powervalves, they open at 7200! Your servo should cycle at start up and also it's possible to put the servo on wrong and also possible that the power valves are in backwards, if even one is backwards it won't work so both must me in the correct direction! If you take the cables off the servo you should beable to pull them and hear the power valves clicking up and down if not then one of the springs could be bad! Also check your secondary spring! I had the exact same problem on my 03!
Thanks- The powervalves are operating as should, and are oriented correctly and cleaned. Secondary spring and other wear components have all been replaced with the same symptoms present after as before.
Have a very similar issue. Replaced the primary, serviced the secondary, cleaned APVs, replaced the power valve cables, the belt and safety throttle switch. Also ohm’d the stator. Same problem still exists. Subscribed to find out more with your journey. Will help out with yours if I find anything else! Love the work 🤘🏼
Replaced the spark plug boots, carbon built up and was making the spark arch at high rpm’s. Sled runs much much better now!
Thank you, will do. I did test the fuel system, and that all is operating within spec. Onto electrical I go.
Did u have engine light blinking any codes? i had my f7 run great up to 6700 when the pow valves supposed to open it set the engine light and run like crap ended being the wire harness chaffing to the servo motor.from what you are describing sounds like same what I had also dump fuel, those spark plugs are very rich too
Don't overlook your coils.
I did test these, and both ohmed within specs, including the plug caps and leads.
Muffler can cause to much back pressure if it's collapse inside.
I'll check this out. The one that's on there has seen some miles for sure.
Did you clean your power valves do a compression check make sure you’re exhausted isn’t plugged up mice like to make this in silencers make sure your throttle bodies are opening all the way that your cable didn’t stretch could I have a broken reed
Power valves are 100% cleaned and adjusted properly. Compression is 130 PSI on both cylinders. Throttle bodies are opening all the way. I will check the silencer and reeds next. Thanks 👍🏻
That bearing and collar on the jackshaft does need to be pulled or pressed off. I'm in the middle of a similar build with an 05 Sabercat.
Agreed! I was able to summon the help of a friend that had a press to help me out.
Where did you get them rails
I bought them off a private seller on Facebook Marketplace. They were new, still in the box from 2009-ish.
Sometimes the cheapest sleds are the most expensive sleds in the end.
Totally agreed 👍🏻
Any idea where I can buy the track tensioner / adjuster assembly ? I can't find parts anywhere .. . 03 f7
No problem-some parts are getting tough to find. Found this on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/255942499394?epid=1279013142&hash=item3b975c9c42:g:W2oAAOSwwXxjzsWD&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoH%2BzUIbMKNlxWlcvazY9NdoSxaBUlgk3V%2FipZkncv1AMEmJCkjU92Ab4bLlYmEfyX6sD4a4VGQ1cKPXIh6axW0KRkoEI0UU6NMlj5DPf0wqoxmaAT0Qn8NoPEZ3dIp9KL7xA%2FQ5QBbPnCTdznopZstG3p8%2FUtLS7zmJbIB9zuDpOzSRDQN9cGXZrT6WzaQSuqOzUuoihrWTupxNqykeOK7s%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR_CFnfW9YQ Not new, but might be better than your existing ones? Otherwise, try Facebook. There’s quite a few machines being parted out in Arctic Cat Firecat groups. Hope this helps!
Wow! What a rush!
