EINE TRAUMSTIMME❤
Fantastic. Thank you.
Heavenly. Thank you.
Cecchele at his peak was Mario del Monaco with superior legato. He was a pupil of Marcello del Monaco.
Indeed, Cecchele was a monster of a tenor!
HERVORRAGEND 😊
SPITZE 😊
I saw her many, many times on stage in Vienna in the '60's. She never gave a bad performance.
You are so lucky!!! 😁
Würde ich jederzeit Domingo vorziehen 😊
Persönlich mag ich Bonisolli mehr 😄
two glorious voices and two charming people
Though without the glamor factor in sound or sight GC is truly excellent.
Personally, I think he has a glamorous voice!
😮 it‘s Lohengrin
❤😂phantastic
the date should read 1961 not 1971. Windgassen last sang at Bayreuth in 1970
Thank you for the correction! Fixed now
Great!😃
a true lovable giant
Opinions differ on DFD... Some call his voice feeble and his singing a whisper, others attest to his great use of a variety of vocal and interpretive gifts.. Perhaps he sounded more impressive live than on his recordings…? I believe my singing teacher, who often saw - and heard! - DFD live and said: „It was as if the voice came from every square centimeter of the body. He was able to use every tiny corner of his body available as a resonance chamber. He must have had resonance chambers even in his knees and toes…“ In any case a very sophisticated singer and artist! 🌹⭐️🌹 Thank you for sharing this poised and multi-layered performance! 🙏🍀
Indeed, Fischer-Dieskau was and is a rather controversial singer. I do think that perhaps his interpretations are more intellectually provocative than they are vocally spectacular, at least when it comes to his recordings. However, I trust also the opinion of your singing teacher, and can attest that I have seen a lot of comments (even from his detractors) which say that despite the way DFD's voice comes off on record, it was very resonant and carried a lot of weight. Thank you as always for your insightful comments! I always appreciate them a lot! :)
@@TheAnalogAria „… more intellectually provocative than they are vocally spectacular…“ That sums it up just perfectly, I think! Thank you very much for this insightful judgement! For those who crave ONLY spectacular voices DFD will always be the wrong choice, for those who are more open-minded he is a very interesting singer to turn to. Wether in the end you like him or not, is also a matter of personal taste and preference, I think… 😊
What an angelic voice. Magnificent! That said, her 'Carmen' was, in my opinion, one of the best ever.
💖💖💖💖💖💥💥💥💥💥👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Voces inolvidables e imperecederas de la lírica española y universal.
Montserrat Caballé‘s husband… I think I actually never heard him sing before, somehow he was always second to his immensely famous and popular wife… But I now realize that he deserves to be so much more than being „the husband of…“ and will listen to more of his recordings with great pleasure! 🌹🌹🌹 Thank you for the wonderful post! 🙏🍀 I‘ve always liked this scene - and the music it contains! ⭐️ - a lot…
Yes!! I only discovered him in the last couple of months, and I absolutely love his voice! Not sure if you would agree, but he reminds me of a young di Stefano...
@@TheAnalogAria Oh, I must listen to him again and see if I can trace the similarities! Thank you for pointing me in this direction! And yes, I do like him! 👍
Always reminded me of Jan Peerce. Very similar.
That's fair!
@@St.Garoosh More comparing to do! 😅
From a great, golden past… when it was still worthwhile and edifying to visit Bayreuth, when the singers were still excellent and the productions were of high quality... ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you for sharing this compelling, captivating, meaningful and insightful performance 🌟 by George London! 🙏🍀
Indeed!! I have been meaning to go to Bayreuth in the near future, but my wish to do so decreases with each new production they come out with... :(
@@TheAnalogAria My opinion exactly… The modern productions are terrible, and unfortunately the majority of the singers aren‘t much better… So sad!
Un brano fantastico, una voce bellissima dagli acuti stupefacenti, Infiniti! ❤💯
Un 'aria bellissima cantata da un tenore magico dagli acuti squillantissimi e potentissimi.🤩💥👍💣
Unica,Inigualable e Inrrepetible
No matter „whose Manon“ Virginia Zeani impersonates, the result is always absolutely convincing, inspiring and captivating… 🌹🌹🌹 Thank you for all your fantastic uploads! 🙏🍀
My pleasure as always! And thank you for listening in, as usual!!
@@TheAnalogAria And as usual, you are the giver, I am the taker, so thanks are all mine! 👍🙏🌞
My research has shown that James McCracken as Otello has received quite a bit of negative criticism from critics - I confess that I can't relate to this criticism... The recording I‘m listening to shows a lot of passion, it‘s stirring and captivating and highly individual, and I really wish I could see it on stage too to experience! 🌞🌞🌞 Thank you for the great post! 🙏🍀
He was one of the biggest ✨ of his era, albeit controversial in large part because he simply could NOT be pigeonholed in any typical regard; a definition of sui-generis befit him probly more than any other great dramatic tenor, as his SQ, impact, range, timbre, vibrancy & richly dark/bright density of tone + hyperdrive stamina were unique 🎶 All of those unusual elements coupled w/a fervor theatrically + incredibly intense, energetically committed combo of raw honesty & intellectually powerful to spontaneously natural explosiveness & (as one critic put it) a ‘performing style as if driven by the devil’, or as many others exhaustively stated, ‘a veritable force of nature, both dramatically & vocally’ 🎭 - one comes away w/complex impressions… He remains THE standard in much, if not all, of his rep for those of us who witnessed him during his greatest perf’s vs most all of the terrific comp of his lengthy career, mainly cuz he was all of the above + ‘NO ONE gave more of themselves onstage from heart & soul or voice, than Jimmy McCracken!’ - Cornell MacNeil 🙌🏼 ‘JMcC was the most underrated legit operatic Superstar of the 20th Century’ - Leonard Bernstein… During his career JMcCracken received PLENTY of high-level extravagant critical esteem: the yrs since have seen somewhat of a strange reconsideration by some who never experienced him live vs those who did + some vice versa! His noble battles vs corrupt institutions (Record Co’s + the Met) seems to confuse his ‘standing’ w/too many extracting vague info or assessments as a result of those controversial experiences (ALL of which JMcC was fully vindicated in, btw) 🍀 There’s no doubt his SQ/Style/Delivery & appearance were famously controversial - but none of that should attempt to diminish the remarkable respect & incredible stature he achieved during his career or the rare & beloved high esteem that he was held-in by colleagues, audiences & a vast majority of the major press over the course of his singular career! 👏🏼 *Don’t forget that there also was a severe price to be paid for his noble struggles behind the scenes from that brutal internecine combat w/those BIG institutions either ❤️🩹 Doing the ‘right thing(s)’ comes with a heavy price, fair or not’, & JMcC endured alota heartache for standing-up for himself to some awfully big bullies… 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes - while admittedly James McCracken's voice isn't exactly my favourite kind of voice, it is no doubt historically very significant. It certainly would have been an honor to hear him on stage!
@@johnlshortt606 Thank you very much for this extremely insightful, informative and detailed comment! 🙏
@@TheAnalogAria Not one of my favorite voices ( mainly timbre-wise) either, but I like passion and character in a singer, and I like performances that are inspired as well as inspiring… Meaningless mediocrity can neither arouse nor maintain my interest... That‘s why I‘m grateful for exciting individual singers like McCracken!
Indeed!!! 😊
The predecessor of K. F. V.
Perhaps - I have heard that argument being made more for Kollo than Windgassen
@@TheAnalogAria I wasn't familiar with Kollo. Then, that would be more accurate chronologically, thanks.
Wonderful, fearless singer who could still sing an impressive top Eflat at 90+
Such a pure beauty which is rare nowadays
Helga Dernesch does not have the dramatic attack of Birgit Nilsson or passion of Gwyneth Jones but her much more lyrical approach is very appealing in its own right. She is a belcanto-Brünnhilde with an excellent technique - precise intonation, very clear voice, no wobble, no scooping. Herbert von Karajan was well aware of her qualities.
Thank you for your wonderful insight!
❤🎉you Showed up one of the greatest❤
Indeed!!
A voice and performance that reflect Desdemona's beauty and purity as well as her spiritual depth... ✨✨✨ Thank you for the lovely post! 🙏🍀
And thank you as always for your comments!! Caballè was truly one of the greats, at least for me

Both were oustanding ❤
Captivating music (so far unknown to me) and vocals… 🌹🌹🌹 Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
Thanks as always for listening! If I'm not mistaken, this is from the premiere run of Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites, which since then has mostly always been sung in French!

Colombo is so underrated.
Wow!
Wow, this recording appears to be altering pitch a lot. You can hear the orchestral harmony shifting every few seconds. But it is a clear sound of him. Still, I think recordings are overrated with opera. All about the live experience in my view. But regardless, thanks for sharing!
But at least we can hear singer who have loong sing gone...better than nothing.
The music, this whole scene is always touching, but Virginia Zeani fills it with an extra portion of depth and emotion… very captivating and moving! ⭐️🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶⭐️ Thank you for the great post! 🙏🍀

❤uuups🎉both are more than sexy❤😂🎉
Electrifying!! Thanks so much!!😍😍😍
Helga Dernesch sings the Fäberin in a cultivated way and is a sensitive interpreter of this touching scene. Although she sang a number of dramatic roles in her career, her slender voice actually has more the character of a spinto soprano to it. Thus, the Färberin was probably a „border“ role for her. With progressing problems in the high register, she switched to the mezzo role of the Amme a few years later.
Just a wonderful voice and talent
FANTASTISCH 🎉
