Always good to have a job to go to these days! Beautiful looking lure, man. That feather was icing on the cake. A few tweaks and it's there! Maybe increase hook spacing on the next one. Keep those wacky ideas coming!

Your other 5 millions subscribers just don't know what they're missing! I always look forward to a Wacky start to the day. Hinge pins in balsa wings... doesn't seem like a lot of strength in the joint. Hopefully they will last. And the short shank of the eyelet screws in balsa won't stand up to much, but maybe the cap with super glue in it will do the trick. If you have any jig skirt material, it makes for more delicate lighter legs than a rubber band. I started out using stainless steel wire for legs, which didn't work well at all, then tried using the skirt which was amazing. And you can tie a simple knot in it if you want a bent leg joint. I absolutely love your thinking outside the box and the unique lures you come up with. Some, maybe didn't turn out as you'd hoped, while others exceeded all expectation. Either way, I enjoy the build and anticipate amazing results! What a beautiful moth! And the tiny feathers are a perfect fit. I like how the wings sit above the water, and little twitches give it a great action. That lure will be able to sit over a honey hole for a good amount of time, long enough to entice a strike, for sure. Great job! As you may be able to tell, I pause the vid and write comments as we go. Too bad about the wings. I figure a good bite or hangup in the weeds or moss and they're gone, but still not a total loss. The lure body will work on its own. I felt your pain...

Thanks for noticing I wanted to put a little design footage in and yeah I made that light box a few years back. I use it a lot. If I would have left some more spring space the legs would have moved a lot more. I’m working on getting my work space figured out as well. I just threw them up there real quick so they would be in the vids.

So many things to love about this build. The lure, of course is obvious! But you used a Frog Tape container to keep the frog parts in. The homemade light box was super cool. I really like the custom made stand that held the thumb-tacked leg parts, very handy. Don't tell anyone, but I skipped to the end when I first started the video to see the frog swim... and I noticed the legs moving in the water! Immediately, I wondered how you did that and started back at the beginning. Super job my friend! While watch, my eye was drawn several times to lures from previous videos hanging on the wall. It would be cool if they had a more prominent display feature to hang from.

Definitely lexan polycarbonate sheets for lips etc. Or, if you have access to old safety glasses, I use a heat gun to flatten the lenses and then cut them to shape. I work in industry where guys are constantly breaking and changing these so it’s an endless supply. Sometimes different colors as well! Good luck with fishing man, keep it up!

Great lure! I agree with who says to move to PC instead of acrylic... also, I think that the big fins act as stabiliser, limiting the action of the lure. Were you referencing to Bender? If not, I'll be doing my own UA-cam channel, with blackjack and hxxxxxr! 🤪

Welcome back! Been watching for ya. Great looking ship, you did an awesome job! The broken lip... Acrylic is the culprit! Acrylic cracks and breaks easily, it is too brittle. You want to use Polycarbonate, a popular brand name is Lexan. Polycarbonate is so durable that it can be "cold" bent and still won't break. You won't regret switching my friend.

I watched this to support the channel. However, I prefer the lure testing to be included in the same video as the build, because I often re-watch some of the builds that I really like at a later time and won't be able to find the companion video like this one.

I still haven't made a silicone mold. Mainly because I haven't set aside funds to buy the materials. Maybe some day. Those Platafeet are pretty sweet!

Oh yeah, that'll catch a fish for sure. I didn't expect much from it action-wise because of its body shape. The tail hinge was what I was curious to see, it does "bob" as you pull it along. The front feet didn't spin because they act more like a weather vain and turn with the water to move out of its way and streamline with the flow. I could say how to position them to spin as I don't have that science in my head. LOL It's an overall success to me. I do mostly agree with your scoring, but maybe a 9.2, and a 6 instead of a 4. A super impressive looking lure!

Jb weld puddy (steel puddy)works great for sculpting strong parts like propellers. I used it to make rc voat props in the past

You should test it and see on how well it works in the water

I watched that video on Lure Fusion a couple weeks ago. That kid has some lure making talent, but I believe you've taken it up a couple notches my friend. Great advice on the scroll saw. I'm guilty of pushing it through and bowing the saw. I threw a lure blank away once because it was so deformed from what my template looked like. Can't wait to see this guy finished. Great job so far!
