It almost makes me think of a mother singing to her child, because Rejane's voice was so gentle and sweet...it is funny now to imagine Zero's mother singing this as a lullaby to her baby boy. (In a "Starmania" movie, Rejane probably could have played Zero's mother in a flashback...and quite convincingly, too!)

🤔 To be honest it is hard to imagine that a character like Zero Janvier has a loving mother… But I think Rejane could have played any character she wanted to.

​@ It could possibly be a 'psychological' trick by Zero...a doctored flashback that is different from his actual memories, or even created out of thin air (most politicians are good at making things up, anyway!) I would have loved to see how Rejane would have done as the '93 Marie-Jeanne...how she would have taken to the change in style. (Not sure if she was ever invited to join the cast...I'm sure she attended a performance or two.)

@@CameronMcCaffrey-e7p I do not really know if she was invited to audition or to attend Lewis Furey's production. I don't think she would fit there.

There is more to this story. Did you listen to the last 1998 part? in March 1998 Norman was the victim of the attempted murder. While they were on tour in Toulon and visited a karaoke bar with colleagues, 2 teenagers picked up a fight . One jumped from behind with a knife.... Luckily, the vocal cords were not damaged. After a month he was on stage with stitches on the neck and some kind of cloth to hide the scar. This hits really hard - one has to be very brave to do Johnny, and especially SOS with such a trauma. It's more than the voice, it living through the tragedy.

@LilyApak yes, but I was not aware of the backstory. It is an even more remarkable performance now that I understand the context behind it. Thank you...I am honored that you value me enough to share these details with me. Because you know much more about "Starmania," I trust you to help me when there are things I do not understand. If you don't mind, I would like to create an acapella of that performance. From now on I will listen not just with my ears but with all of my heart ♥️

@@CameronMcCaffrey-e7p You don't need "permission" from me, I took the track from the 20th anniversary album (because it is not on any streaming services or meta), and so far it did not create copyright issues. @LilyApak Thank you for your kindness and enthusiasm...and for getting me into the wonderful "Starmania." I am currently on a cruise in the Bahamas, but once I am in front of my PC again I plan to do a couple more acapellas for the 1988 "Starmania" Paris cast album (Travesti & Le Monde est Stone). Using WiFi to write this so as not to accrue roaming data charges. Despite the beauty of the sights I have seen, my mind has been captivated by the beauty of "Starmania" since before I arrived, and it's still in my soul now. I have a strong desire and wish to reach out to various performers and crew to thank them for what they have done. However, as you know, some of them are private while others have passed away. I have had no luck finding out how to get in touch with the Groulx or Sabrina Lory, though I did write to and hear back from Wenta (a very sweet lady; it turns out the full show of Starmania "Edition Rouge" was posted by Wenta herself!) If you'll forgive me for asking, which Starmania cast/crew do you know of who have a presence on the Internet, ideally by way of a personal website (as opposed to Facebook, Instagram, X etc.)? Would be grateful for your help. My focus is on those who appeared in the 1990s and earlier, not the most recent edition. I'm hoping we can also communicate by email at some point, but I'm not sure how I can give you my email address without the comment being removed automatically. I hope you've had a good week so far...let's talk again soon, if the fates allow!

I can’t agree more! She is gorgeous - absolutely gorgeous. I have ‘t heard French people talk about her too much nowadays - the production team for the new Starmania even forgot to invite her to the premiere show in November 2022 - I read a comment of her cousin on Facebook that she was very upset. 😢 I don’t know if they rectified this mistake - but Sabrina Lory must be assured - there are fans people who love her - even outside France!

In this productions all the characters sounded very “forceful” if I may say so, even Cristal. So, it may be partially due to that that she sounds so strong here. In any case, she is gorgeous ♥️

@LilyApak absolutely...the 93 version has more of an edge, more dynamic and less 'elegant.' It is nice to see how well some of the veterans adjusted to the new style, and Sabrina definitely excelled!

J'adore LLDJ et j'aimerais qu'il y en ait plus. Là-bas, j'ai eu quelques petites exceptions de Starmania 22 aussi - et cela a fait plaisir aussi aux jeunes chanteurs alors inconnus. Et leurs remerciements et reposts ont été suivis par leurs producteurs. Et vous savez ce qu'ils ont fait ? Ils les ont aussi appréciés et puis sans aucun avertissement, ils ont signalé mon compte et l'ont fait disparaître à jamais. L'équipe de production de Starmania 22 (dont Thomas Anduze et Raphael Hamburger) n'a pas lu les appels, ils n'ont répondu à aucun courrier. C'était à l'époque le seul compte qui parlait de Starmania en anglais, partageant des archives sur sa riche histoire. Donc aucune information liée à Starmania VII ne reviendra jamais sur aucun de mes comptes - c'est à la production et aux journalistes qu'ils embauchent d'en faire la promotion. J'aime Starmania dans toute son histoire et son rayonnement culturel, et je fais de mon mieux pour la promouvoir dans d'autres parties du monde non francophones, comme l'avait imaginé Michel Berger. ✨ Thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel. I love LLDJ and wish there was more of it. Over there I had some little exceptions from Starmania 22 too - and it made the young then unknown singers happy too. And their thanks and reposts were followed by their producers. And you know what they did? They liked them too and then without any warning they reported my account and made it disappear forever. Starmania 22 production team (including Thomas Anduze and Raphael Hamburger) did not read the appeals, they did not reply to any letters. It was at the time the only account that was talking about Starmania in English, sharing archives about its rich history. So any Starmania VII related information will never be back on any of my accounts - it’s up to the production and joirnalists they hire to promote it. I love Starmania in the entirety of its history and cultural influence, and I do my best to promote it in other, non-French speaking parts of the world, like Michel Berger had envisioned. ✨
