Most, if not all, of the tracks have shortcuts you can find by crashing into secret walls. There are a few extra pickups in some.
When I first played it about 25+ years ago I think I knew where all the secrets etc were... this was just me trying to finish is as quick as possible lol

I hate that space pod stage. It's a complete change of mechanics and I've never beaten it when I was a child. I could only beat it as a teenager with save states. I died a lot until I got the hang of it.
Yeah the space pod stage was different to the whole game, likely I am kinda good at shooters lol... it took me weeks to make this video. Never playing it again 😆
