SLK55 is pretty heavy believe it or not 3583lbs curb weight with 355hp and 376 ft/lb Camaro SS should be around 3,741 to 4,374 lbs with 426hp with 420 ft/lb 🤣

I had a 2006 slk 55 amg & now a camaro ss & was stumped on why it felt so much slower then my 55 shits heartbreaking i miss it lmao

I've owned an slk55amg for nine years, it trashed my 996 and 997 I honestly don't think anything has ever got the better of it even though I'm not the loon I was. An axe murderer in a straight line and a dry day. Should come with a warning though........ " never use if raining may kill you"
Had it also, slightly tuned up to 390 hp and I used widest tyres that fit (275 or 285 at the rest I believe), it was fast for its time but I felt that the car is quite tame, It has never slept or went sideways when I wasn’t expecting it. I sold it to a friend who installed a supercharger. It is now 750-ish hp. Now it’s quite scary I must say.

The slk55 has a slow shifting transmission. It only goes 0 to 60 in 4.9 secs. The camera is faster with more hp.
The 4.9 sec 0 to 60 is data from the factory. Actual tested times show a 4.2 or 4.3.

The 55 needs lots of driver mod, throttle completely cut off during 2nd gear. By the time the car regained momentum, the Camaro was on it's way past.

Bro that was the wheels catching up to engine speed after the shift . It had nothing to do with throttle cutoff buddy .

The SLK55 AMG is a nice package...Like a German Cobra...I just wish they had put the W211 Supercharged V8 in there instead of just the 5.4 V8...It would have been a world beater...Even with that said, it is a fun car...and pretty fast all things considered...very fast a decade ago when it came out.

If you lift it 8 inches with 22 inch rins and put on a set of truck nutz then the Bow-tie is a sweet truck ,but if you use your truck then nothing with an IFS will be on the list .

which means you cant floor it from a completely stop and just pray it hooks up... I owned an SLK55, its hard to launch, but flooring it is definitely not how to do it.
A good point. Kind of says a bit about the SS, or the driver of the SS, that it the SLK still got such a better start than it. It pulled then lost it, then got it back.
