Japanese made Fenders...Great value...Fabulous quality!
Fender Japan creates great range of Tele's and Strats, excellent quality, and really good value. They are as good as any Fenders made in the USA, with the exception of the Customs Shop guitars. My Fender Telecaster, made in Japan is a perfect example of just how good the Fender Japan guitars are. I purchased it only a few months ago.

The best value George Benson signature guitar- The Ibanez GB10se!
Переглядів 4,3 тис.6 місяців тому
There are 3 price levels of Ibanez GB10 guitars, the GB10se is in the middle, but it offers many of the same features of the more expensive Japanese made GB10's at around 65% less! It's great value, really well made and plays brilliantly, a great all round guitar. This video was recorded on an iPhone, the amp used is a DV Mark Jazz 12. The backing track is called The Jazzy AM, from Baer, Franki...

Today, Fender Strats are manufactured in Mexico, Japan and the USA. The made in Mexico Fender Strat is the best value real Fender, you can buy. MIM Strats are great v...
I replaced the pickups on my EART tele style guitar, it was easy and the result is great!

I was a little scared to do this as I had never done it before, but it was far easier than I imagined. I'm really happy with the result. I bought a set of Alnico 5 pickups on line. They are branded Modern Timbre, the neck is 9.48k resistance and the bridge is 7.12k. The pickups cost around US$85 for the set. The whole job from start to finish took less than 1 hour and the new Alnico 5 pickups a...
Are the China made Fender acoustic guitars any good?
Переглядів 2,8 тис.Рік тому
Fender made the very smart decision to make their acoustic range in China. The quality is very good, attention to detail is excellent, and it means that the price of their acoustic range is real totally affordable for everyone. I commend Fender for doing this and more American manufacturers should take note as US made guitars are far too expensive for the average player. The backing track used ...
Eastman creates great guitars- The Eastman AR371ce.

Eastman have become a major player in the arch top market, all thanks to Gibson abandoning it and concentrating on rock and roll. Not only is Eastman a major force now, their guitars are superb quality and they set new standards for style and performance. This is my AR 371ce, I bought it new 4 years ago and its a fine example of what Eastman is, and the absolute quality of their range of arch t...
The best value, real Gibson Les Paul: The Gibson Les Paul Tribute.
Переглядів 8 тис.Рік тому
Gibson Less Paul guitars are expensive, but there's one model which offers pretty good value for money, and is half the price of a Les Paul standard. It's produced in the USA, and offers a real Gibson Les Paul at a much lower price than most of the Les Paul range. It's well built and plays well! This video is recorded on a iPhone, there's a little compression delay and overdrive used in the dem...
The best value hollow body arch top on the market: The Epiphone joe Pass Emperor

This is in my opinion the best value hollow body jazz style guitar on the market. It offers great quality construction and you can see the attention to detail that's been employed in its manufacture. Great sound from the Epiphone Pro Bucker pick ups, great fit and finish and, great value. The backing track is from Wikiloops.com, it's a jazz piece called Swinging Moon Cats, and it's created by S...
D'Angelico EXL 1 Excel model- The rebirth of a legendary guitar from the 1930's.

I inadvertently stated in the video that my D'Angelico EXL-1, Excel model was made in Indonesia. That is incorrect, the Excel models like this one are all made in Korea, with the less expensive Premier models made in Indonesia. Sorry for the confusion. D'Angelico guitars represent absolute quality and incredible value. Today's D'Angelico models are a tribute to John D'Angelico and the legacy he...
Can China produce world class acoustic guitars- the Fender Paramount series.
Переглядів 9 тис.Рік тому
I was amazed at the high price of solid wood USA made guitars so I looked at what China had to offer and was pleasantly surprised and happy. I purchased this Fender Paramount deluxe for a fraction of what it would cost if it were made in the USA. The backing track in the demo is from Sebastien Zunino on this Backing Track Addiction Collection 15 album, you can find Sebastien's backing tracks on...
Eastman AR580, a truly superb guitar!

This is my 2020 Eastman AR580. Boy, what a superb guitar, incredible build quality and absolutely quality hardware and accessories. This was recorded on a Samson Go Mic, through a DVMark Jazz 12 amp, with some compression, delay and just a touch of reverb. The backing track is from Elite Backing Tracks, it's called New Beginnings. You can find Elite Backing Tracks at Bandcamp.com. Listen to the...
The Epiphone Casino, a truely iconic guitar!
Переглядів 2752 роки тому
This is my 2016, made in China Epiphone casino, its a fabulous guitar, great build quality and as good as any guitar made in the USA or anywhere else. These days there's too much concentration on where guitars are made, rather than the actual quality. Many Chinese made guitars are as good or even better than those made in other countries and the Epiphone Casino is one of them! The demo is recor...
EART Guitars......are they any good?
Переглядів 2,1 тис.2 роки тому
I'm a fan of Chinese made guitars! Chinese guitar builders have made giant steps in quality and playability over the past decade, where today many are as good as any guitars made in USA, EU or other Asian countries. I was looking for a Tele style guitar and had seen so many reviews on EART guitars, so I decided to order one and bought this guitar direct from EART's website. I was very impressed...
Eastman AR580 demo

Late last year I bought this Eastman AR580 CE. It's an amazing guitar and absolute quality in every department. Since Gibson Brands has abandoned the hollow body jazz guitar market, companies like Eastman have really come to the fore. The AR580 had a solid hand carved spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, 1 piece maple neck, Ebony fingerboard , bridge, tuning keys, tail piece and pic guard. ...
D'Angelico Excel EXL 1 demo

The amazing and superb D'Angelico Excel EXL-1, one of the true great jazz guitars of all time and just as good today as it was when first created decades ago. With Gibson going all "rock and roll" these days and forgetting their great jazz guitars to concentrate on a younger image, brands like D'Angelico, Ibanez, Eastman, Guild etc, are now the "go-to" of the jazz guitar players like myself who...

Jamming with my standard HSS Fender Stratocaster
Mine has an ugly sunburst but I close my eyes when playing, thinking of a beautiful natural model just like yours.. 😂 I have changed the pickups for Classic 57 & 57+ from Gibson for an even better sound.
What does.... for the price mean.If people say better than some USA models..no need to say for the price. Patronizing.!!!
I JUST GOT A 2018 GOLD TOP TRIBUTE LOVE IT.
'Knights In Black Satin' Nice Guitar. I had the Fender Balboa Electric/Acoustic with/cutaway back in 1989 when it first came out, Almost $500 I think. Sold it years ago, and regret it now. But since I've acquired a Fender San Marino (California Series) 1990 made in Korea. It stays in perfect tune for months and months, and I play it everyday. It has a V-Neck on it which seems to work for me really well...a different feel that I really like, but I wish it had a cutaway❤
I have owned hundreds of guitars of many brands the past 50 years. Recently I wanted another Gibson ES-335, but as you mentioned they have serious quality control issues. I bought an Eastman T486 Classic for less than half the money and it blows the modern Gibson ES-335's away! The Eastman is flawless in craftsmanship and plays like a dream. I am so thrilled with it that I am now looking at an Eastman AR372CE. No more new Gibsons for me. Eastman all the way!
Hi Stringbender 57, I totally agree with you! Gibson has totally lost the plot, and the quality issues that started years ago look like they are still happening. Recently a buyer of a Les Paul had to send his guitar back, then the replacement also had major faults, so he sent that back, and finally on the third guitar got what he expected. Eastman has better quality than Gibson, and their pricing is 40%-50% less for superior instruments. I'm glad you are happy and you will find the 372 is a great guitar.
I very don't like classic jazz guitar sound. Like through a pillow.
great video, Wow, what tone you got . Just love it... Jazzy............
La gb 10 prestige japon n'a pas la même lutherie donc le son change obligatoire ! Ça n a rien avoir avec une se Indonésie donc la différence de prix aussi a ne jamais oublier une guitare de jazz doit être très lourde!!!!!! Amicalement jp
I also agree generally but I've had issues with mine: The string spacing at the nut feels a bit wide (and I have big hands). The neck width is 1 3/4" and the 1/8" spacing on the sides that I find comfortable on other guitars isn't quite there on the 371. As far as I can tell, the distance between outer strings is about 1.5 mm wider (sorry to mix systems, I use a mm ruler that easier on my eyes). It doesn't sound like much, but I notice it on the sides and between strings. The other issue is sound. While it's easy to pull a nice single string sound out of this guitar, I want a clean and clear chordal sound without too much high end and I've struggled with this humbucker, its controls, and a variety of amps. The closest I've come is by lowering the pickup considerably and raising some of the pole pieces. For some reason, the G string pole screw won't go as deep as the others and I can't balance the overly loud unwound G string with the others. As a test, I'm planning to swap out the pickup for an Alnico 3. The remaining issue I admit is cosmetic: I'm generally not a fan of bound F-holes (with few exceptions) so I removed them. It's not trivial but I've done binding and finishing work and it can be done with care. In my opinion the result has more of a 175 vibe and I like to think the slightly larger F-holes enhance the acoustic quality (although I'm not kidding myself). But I love the feel of the neck and the flat fingerboard.
Sorry to hear you have had issues! Luckily I've had none but I guess no manufacturer is perfect, but Eastman certainly doesn't have the quality problems that Gibson had, and from what I see still has.
hell they both sound great in your hands very nice sound and Tone great job 👏👏👏
I have One made in Korea buyed in 2012 by second hand....fantastic Guitar....
Jap. Emperor's and jap. Casino. Were. Xllnt quality.!?!!!!!!!!!
this guitar is great!
Great accurate review. Thanks. This model may be out of production now. Make no mistake, it’s a Gibson. It’s folly to discriminate against the subsidiary products just because they are made in Asia. Asians are meticulous craftspersons. Don’t forget Ibanez guitars are favored by George Benson, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, and Steve Vai. And you can only custom order an ES-175 or L-5 from Gibson for mucho dinero and a long, long wait.
Epiphone was bought by Gibson because of Epiphone's superior hollow body guitars. Make no mistake.
Awesome video have a wonderful day also Wednesday is my younger brother birthday ❤😊
❤I have a joe pass signature from Korea
the fender japan contract was first offered to tokai.who turned it down,it was then offered to fujigen, makers of greco, who accepted .tokai didnt dissapear, and continue to make great guitars today, greco fender copys ceased to be made,as they were fujigen made, but greco les paul copys continued to be made, later by dyna gakki, youre guitar with jd serial is made by dyna gakki, who took over the fender japan contract from fujigen in 97,and have continued as the main fender japan up till present day.tokai also made some models for fender japan late 90s,but for domestic market, not exported
i own 7 fender japan guitars,and 2 mij tokais
Hi elbib2446, many thanks for these details. You've got a great background on the Fender Japan story.
What are your thoughts on this vs the Gretsch Electromatic G5420t with Filtertrons?
Hi, The Gretsch is a great guitar too, but I think the Epiphone has a slight edge on tone, it's got a slightly fuller sound, but there's not a lot between these two guitars. They are both great.
This is undoubtedly the most comprehensive review of the Ibanez GB10se guitar I have come across. As an owner of this instrument, I can attest to the accuracy of your observations. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed your exquisite sample tune. Thank you for sharing your insights.
The device on which you are watching this video is Chinese made, very likely. So people getting snobby over Chinese guitars are just being ludicrous.
Why can’t we complain about stuff made in China once we’ve found out where the money goes? Yes my iPhone 12 was made in China but since that time it’s been brought to our attention about how large the Chinese navy has become. Maybe it was right there under our noses all along and I/we failed to take notice. It’s not about the quality so much these days as the gov building up their military. No more Apple products coming to my house but that’s just one person. Doubt I’ll make an impact but hey it’s a start.
Mine (tobacco burst) was made in '22, and I love it. The 490 pups are perfect for classic rock. It plays like butter, with sustain for days. Great review, I love that gold-top.
Nice, but the back, sides, or top are not solid according to Ibanez. It’s laminated maple back and sides. The top is a laminated Spruce . They still play and sound nice.
So this is how the Guitar sounds? THE GUITAR? No - this is how the Fishman Pick Up sounds. You did not play a single note purelly Acoustic. Thatś why You buy an Acoustic guitar - You want to Hear it Without any Pickup system. Your demo is almost as if You would Hide the Acoustic sound of this Fender. That's Not how you do a Demo af an Acoustic guitar. So sad.
Then why are you here? The exact same logic you gave applies to a mic as well! The ONLY way you will know how it sounds is to play it yourself! So get off of UA-cam and go to guitar center and stop criticizing people on how they make videos! 😂😂
solid wood guitar ...... so you buy instrument from FENDER ..... wired cutting board maker ???!!!!! thick polyurethane !!! and that pick up sound
Maybe Chinese guitars without that poly finish for starters...
I have that guitar it’s is an amazing bang for the buck archtop. Beautiful sounding and plays like butter.
Best deal out there bar none!
If you are going to support the Chinese Communist Party, why pay more than it's worth by throwing on a once great name? People might want to save even more and get an off brand guitar that is just as good.
I’ve owned a P220e for a while now and even fitted Martins Liquid Metal bridge pins which certainly livened it up but…a couple of months ago I decided to sell most of my electric gear and buy myself a really good acoustic long storey short I bought a Martin 0-12-28 modern deluxe. The fender doesn’t even come close, it’s like comparing an old banger (car) to a Ferrari ! Each individual note on the Martin sings out and with so much sustain and clarity its incredible. If i rest the guitar on myself and talk i can feel the top and back vibrating whereas the sides remain solidly still, i swear if a mouse broke wind in my back garden the guitar would vibrate! It was a once in a lifetime purchase and it really is a once in a lifetime guitar. So I’m sorry but the fenders are goof for the money but if money isn’t an object buy your dream guitar, you wont regret it.
What are you trying to play? It sounds like your trying to play have yourself a very merry Christmas lol
Nice sound.
Lagb10 prestige est complètement différente en terme de lutherie donc le son change aussi ça n'a rien a voir avec la se. Amicalement
You’re humble you play well 👍🏻🎸❤️
Hi localguy8, your very kind to say that but I'm really not that good!
Is there anyone to play a 2006 EPIPHONE emperor regent, single pickup, blonde, made in Korea...???
Awesome guitar - thanks for the review - love the gold top.
Hi David thank you very much, what the exactly description of these model please, with an ebony fretboard and the beautiful abalon inlays? Best wishes /Frank Numen
Thats a mahogany neck ..
I’ve got the exact same.Brilliant.Actually my tuning keys are metal, not ebony.Great guitar.I was under impression back and sides are solid wood too.
The Pro buckers are just Amazing. Totally agree.
I have to agree. I've just acquired a 2021 Tribute. Very happy with it. 👍
Nice playing, what is that tune?
Hi Mike, The backing track has no name, I got it online and just searched "free backing tracks". Its in D minor and only a 2 minute track.
if it sounds anything like a casino… nooooo. So muddy and vulgar.
The Casino is a thin body. The Emperor is a full size jazz box measuring 16” x 3-1/8”, I believe. I’ve heard the same comments elsewhere about the Casino.
Wasn’t the Casino good enough for The Beatles?
Just got one. I’m blown away how good it is, sound and feel.
I see so many EXL-1's, but the prices vary greatly. Is there any difference from one EXL-1 to another?
Hi, there are EXL-1's made on Korea, which are the most expensive like mine in the video, they are called Excel models, also there's EXL-1's made in Indonesia which are the least expensive. I'd recommend the Korean models.
@@davidkinsman Great. Thank you David. Great video, BTW. How about the deluxe models? Is there a difference with them?
I used to own a Gibson LP Standard but found it far too heavy so I sold it on eBay. How heavy is the tribute that you own?
Hi Terry, My Tribute is lighter than a Les Paul Standard, so it may suit you. Unfortunately the Tribute is out of production right now so you have to search Reverb to find one if you are interested.
Nice melody i think there was some frett buzz, perhaps a slight action adjustment?
Love my 2018 goldtop tribute. Gets more play than my Standard peace. Love the weight too!
It could be made out of cardboard as long as it sounds and plays well!
Very musical. Nice tone from the middle pickup.
Great tone and its refreshing to hear someone playing slowly and melodically when demoing a guitar.
About 3 years ago, I special ordered a Strat in Lake Placid Blue w/Rosewood neck direct from the Corona, CA factory. I wanted one like this since I was a 15 year-old teenager in 1966. One of my bandmates at the time had a Strat in LPB and I fell in love with it. After all these years now I finally have one! 😁
Great story, eventually got it and weren't disappointed
