You got the witch and the beast wrong. Ashaf is the mage whose carrying the true body of Giddeu. Giddeu was cursed by a witch to be in a former witch body that happens to be a little girl. Giddeu was the one trapped not ashaf.

Extremely low expectations for this. 1: it’s a modern take on a beloved franchise from decades ago. 2: it’s a western story made into an anime. The last point could be positive like with Edgerunners, but I don’t trust it. After the suicide squad anime, it’s painfully clear they’re just trying to capitalize on the fact anime is leagues more popular than western cartoons these days
