Thought I'd name it that as it was a Ford Focus that it hit! Going back to the forks out of spec - i dont even think that it had anything to do with the impact as the wheel went straight under the car (sideways) i think that its the fact that the Marchesini wheels were always a tight fit into the forks (i always has to force the forks apart a little bit to get the wheel in.!)

Bit gutting but the zed has been written off. A nice old lady in an old Ford Focus cut across me resulting in the the Big Zed getting planted into the front of the Focus. Not all bad though as hopefully it'll be back in my possession soon then I can start the rebuild. Many more videos to come!

Sorry about the wait - its been a long time coming but heres the current status of the City Light development. As ive said before its the software that continues to be a problem. My brother is self taught on android studio. I believe hes more capable on iOS but i may be wrong on that one...! Hes come too far from a time spent point of view to not make this available to all of you due to the she...

I wouldnt know what else to buy....even after 8 years of ownership i still love it....its got 25k on the clock now (starts on the button, gearbox is buttery smooth) i cant ever see myself selling it.Thinking of going up to m7rs wheels along with an 1100 from the se...itll just bolt straight in...then back to the dyno.!

It's just I'm putting a standard clutch in in my 2014 z1000sx and I got a clutch friction plates will 10 plates in but there all the same size and am sure the 1st and last friction plate are thicker
@BIGVR007 it's kinda your lucky day....my old standard clutch is complete but I won't have access to it till tomorrow so I'll be able to tell you then...
In your standard clutch, Did you have 2 friction plates different to the other friction plates
@BIGVR007 ooh...it was so long ago...there definitely was one plate in there different but I got the whole clutch pack complete...a few of the other lads have bought just the parts and used their existing plate set....

Heh - well, its all done and completed...im just waiting for an initial test one to be made so i can run it on my bike....tbh - were not really sure how to make them in quantities as neither of us has the time to "start a business" ! - i wanted to get 5 or 10 built at a time and then just sell them as is but my borther is worried about the tax implications of it all....!

No....not from an MOT standpoint...I change mine back for that...

i'm riding a 2017 bike like this and i just removed that 12 hole plate actually increasing the volume of the air box , it makes sense since accumulating more air in the box and thus better performance, and you took it and vice versa reduced it the volume of the air box actually made worse than it was originally. removing just that baffle makes the bike ride noticeably better.

Hi there...easy: Renthal fat bars (orange - obviously! :) ) - use the KTM fitment option.! - and yes, i still own the bike all these years on.!

Love the video. This conversion project is also something on my mind since I have the 2015 model and would love for a smoother gear shift. If it isn't too much too ask, can you provide the detail or link to where you source your clutch assembly?
Hi there, well, i was lucky - i found an entire clutch assembly on ebay so just popped the whole lot in, job done. One of the lads on the UK Z forum found out the hard way and in turn, become and expert on the subject....i think there is a difference - which year do you have as that will depend on what parts you need....you can use some parts from your existing clutch...register on the forum - there is a thread in there created by the other lad.... forum is here... z1000uk.proboards.com/

Feels like it....brother came round with the dev board last week.....half of his problem was using an actual unit to code the app on. All the units we had were hand made. No offence to the guy that built them up but it looks like because the design is so compact they will have to be built by machine. Every time he though he had a coding problem half the time it was the hardware - the dev board is massive compared to the final unit but it serves a purpose for getting the app complete. I have to fix my tablet then he'll send over the app (as far as its completed) then ill do a vid but theres no gui at the moment...well, there is but its very basic. He was over my house yesterday and said that he's fighting against the android operating system....even the simplest of things are a fight to complete.....for example, just to get the light to remember the last setting it was on took him weeks to get right. As ive said time and time again, he has a normal job but works for himself so he has to give priority to earning money to live. He's spent literally hundreds of hours developing it off of his own back. sorry about the wait.

@@CM-ke3vt Yep....its kinda a sideline project - as ive said before its something he does when hes got some spare time - he works for himself so his primary job has to be his number one priority as thats what puts food on the table. Looking back one of the things that was our mistake was using an actual unit as a dev board - everything is packed on there so tightly there were hardware issues which he thought were software issues that slowed everything down....alot! - so we have a dev board each - he was over just before xmas (lives about an hour away) to grab my board and do a few firmware updates to it. I believe 90% of his time is now getting the front end ready (the 10% for the odd few firmware updates) - the other thing was the original batch of units were hand made - whereas moving forward when its complete we`ll have them manufactured by machine....i wont say its almost ready due to the time its taken already but you can see from above how far its come....

Thanks and I still own it, use it most days, it's been written off, rebuilt, and is in better shape than ever. It's totally reliable, never fails to start ever and has never let me down. It's a brilliant bike and I'm on it today as my main source of transport.

Its one of those "its almost finished" things....software is done. The hardware has had to go through a bit of a redesign. The reason being that the tracks connecting the leds were so close together they were becoming unreliable. My brother (who is doing the work) has had a special dev board built (a completely different shape) for testing and developing the software further. I think from what he last told me the resdesigned board is ready to go to fabrication (or may even be there)....ill check and get back to you on here....ironically when he was over last week without me saying anything (i try not to stress him about it) he did say " ill finish this thing if it fucking kills me....!"

I got an XSR900. Rode a z1000 today. Getting rid of my XSR
Still got mine. Use it every day for work....ive still got my hyper and RSV4 but its still after 6 years my go to bike....still cant see anything that will replace it. Its just a good standard litre bike thats comfortable, reliable and fast, and theres a shed load of tuning and suspension options too....mines just had a front fork cartridge conversion to Nitron pro's. You wont be disappointed.

Hi mate me again did you install the slipper clutch before installing the quickshifter as I also have a hm plus quickshifter but sometimes hit false neutral , will the slipper clutch help in this department ? Thanks
Ive never had a false neutral issue ever but, the slipper clutch definately improves literally everything from a gear change and feel point of view...
@@comfysofa1549 my gear shifter is a little sloppy i dont think my thread bar is the correct size , do you think this could be a reason why i am getting false neutrals? im taking to cjs this year so will see if i can get one of his fitted
@@flashedon2wheels277 im not sure if Chris does custom length shifter bars. I got mine from JHS - i think they keep a range of different lengths in stock....but yes if its loose that could be the reason.....the zeds bottom end is pretty bulletproof.

Yep if you go through my vids theres a walkthrough on here.....not been to the Dyno yet....waiting for payday! Yep - all fine, nothing broken - i still bounce..! bit sore for a few weeks - still have a bit of an achy ankle, think i had a hairline fracture in my knuckle as well which has just cleared up - other than that...ok
@@comfysofa1549 yep just found the post and the vid. Thanks. And glad no major injuries. That's why I invested in good ankle protection with boots as I had a friend have his crushed by his bike and never healed right.

It is getting better slowly which im fine with....just my age i guess..! with regards to the mod as ive not been back to the dyno yet all i can say is mine is snappier than it used to be...hopefully once its been to the dyno that'll get the most out of it..
