Proper name for that is resolver type stepper motor. Resolver type are built for high vibration and temperature environment and a lot of what goes wrong with those car is the hybrid battery pack containing the inverter dc/dc etc. Check cooling fan which sometimes fail causing the battery to overheat and shut off. If you live in Houston Tx I own an electric / hybrid vehicles repair shop. One way to test those is to put a light bulb between U V W leads to see if they light up. Use an incandescent light bulb. If you have a scanner you can also scan battery voltage. Individual cells should not be lower than 3.5 volt. You don’t need that tool just some zip ties and rotate the crankshaft it goes in like butter

That cross member is a PITA. You can take out the bolts, remove the trans mount and lift the transmission. Then tap the cross member up and it’ll slide out. It’s a V-taper fit. Good idea for the assembly plant, not so much for servicing.

You can get the 2 bottom bolts out from the top. Without going underneath the car, just have to feel around and go straight in on the passenger side and use a wobble adapter on the driver's side. Use a three eighths rachet and a fifteen millimeter. The belt can be a little tricky to take off. Just get it started around the pully and use a 19 mm to turn the alternator bolt and pull it off.. also, you will want to Jack up the engine. I remove the engine mounts on the left side and lift the whole left side of the engine up about three inches for better access in case you need to work with that belt a bit more. This will take a shade tree mechanic about three hours.

As a guy from nb canada, the underside of that truck is immaculate. Holy moly.

I watched your video and I was able to take my transmission out. Now my question is how do I but the nuts on the clutch after I install the new transmission. I do not see the bolts through the starter hole.
