I've always been of the opinion that King's marches are a lot more fun to play than Sousa's stuff -- of course, Sousa didn't really write for circuses, whereas King wrote quite a bit for that art form. King was a fabulous euphonium player, which probably explains the great lines he wrote for the instrument.

Great tune! Fine for polkas, possibly VERY fast waltzes, and ideal as a segment of a quadrille!

One of the finest military marches ever to be composed

Played this in high school and drum majors leading _other_ bands at competitions always told us how scary we sounded. That D.S. al Coda always hit hard, and the dynamic volumes sometimes made me shed tears after competitions/performances.

Yes! My favorite recording of this magnificent work.

This would be an awesome peice to play during the Presidential Inauguration. Great job!!
