My hometown ❤
My dad was stationed there 1960-61 as a reciprocating engine mechanic(Radial engine) I went to school in the early 70's at Hamilton School just inside the main gate...
I live in Hamilton in the Coast Guard houses
This video should've covered Hamilton Airfield. That place was the economic heart of Novato and made it what it is.
My father was stationed there in the 1950s. I was born there. Want to visit sometime soon.
Why don’t you do a cemetery tour with living actors telling the story of the residence of the cemetery and then you can film it and post it online preferably on UA-cam.
Flew with the 312th TCS res C119G's 62-64 .
Great stuff. Makes me appreciate my sleepy town more than ever.
Great video thank you I grew up there from 68 to the 80s
It's a shame that area has some crime issues going on. I moved a lot of officers off of that base back in 79' mostly Coast Guard people. Beautiful architecture that we should not neglect and preserve for future generations...
Dope
Took m16 training there in 1969
Lived there as a kid back in the 80's. Although it was not with the Air Force but with the Coast Guard. The Coast Guards Pacific Strike Team is still stationed there in two of the old hangers along the air field. Looks a bit different today from what I remember. But its been 30+ years.
my dad was station there 1949 to 1053 as a radio operator, does anyone know if the radio room still there or gone?
Depends, I know the black point communications annex radio buildings are still there, and I know they did a lot of radio stuff for the base, but idk if they also had radio rooms on base and if they are still intact
It was in 1965
Hi. Did you know any military police at that time?
I did combat training At Hamilton AFB before shipping out to Viet Nam
Same here
When Mom and I came here in June of 1965 Novato was a lovely combination of farms, working ranches and lots of suburban homes just being built. It was Western Weekend. City fair with farm animal exhibits and a dunk tank. Our fences weren’t quite up. We had plenty of open space just past our property line. Without a fence our backyard was open for visits from all sorts of “critters.” Lots of little toads that croaked all night. Wandering goats and horses. The occasional wandering chicken. When the fence went up, our four-footed friends moved on.
Novato is a beautiful town. Crazy to think it used to be a small farming town!
Nice. Thank you
Nice and Creative Videos, This is really my favorite channle.:). I really glad to see your post and your world was so brilliant. 🌴🌴🌴excellent and Much appreciated!!🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 from: Novato City Marin
Thank you for making this wonderful Vid!
Nice
My first base after tech school. We were a 4 aircraft C-130 rescue squadron. I was there from about September 1969 through July of 1970. Hamilton spoiled me for the next two bases I was assigned to. I had the impression that all Air Force bases were as nice as it was in Hamilton. Great memories, I was sorry to learn it closed.
We moved to Novato from San Francisco in 1965. I knew Hamilton was where my military widow Mom could shop at the commissary. She loved it. My first sonic 💥 boom was a big surprise to me. I’m 68 now and still live in Novato. Would give anything to hear (and feel) that noise again.
Great video
Something wrong with your sound
Great pictures of the train station.
"Current location of Novato Theatre" and it shows a pile of rubble. Looks basically the same now. Thanks, city council!
