I've been using poverty as my peaceful protest since 2019. I refuse to work just so a corrupt system can take half my money to use against me. I refuse to work until Trump is president again. I also refuse to date. Modern women are terrible people. They only have one thing to offer and I can get that from a rubber ass without the hassle or expense. They don't need me and I don't need them.
Hate to say it, but while you ARE correct, it's not possible to correct these problems. They're too deeply ingrained in our world.
@@Dienow3xw I also struggle to maintain hope that it’s possible for everyone to improve or cooperate.
The problem is, some people will always compromise their morals to be on top. The collective of people who don't must stop these people and they aren't.
@@rennoc6478 I wonder what the best ways are to stop or deter people. How do we draw and justify the moral line?
@@godsfool5284 the legal system would be my first instinct, but politicians have incentive to make it corrupt. And we could draw the moral line through utilitarianism by picking the action the reduces the most net suffering and increases the most net happiness.

@@daveswietlik6291 I do wrestle with that interpretation as well. I may just be finding a way to re-frame my inability to amount to anything as intentional and as the moral high road. It’s likely a combination of both

You look like you eat whatever is convenient and you are driving. You can’t even control the easiest parts of your life, how can people fight against actual compelling forces
@@emilyeurope accurate, but I struggle to understand the relevance. For me this centers around a refusal to pursue wealth and power, a refusal to “progress” through a fundamentally flawed, unjust system. For me this looks like refusing multiple offers for promotion at work because I refuse to act as an enforcer for company expectations/priorities I view as unreasonable or immoral. I also don’t view managerial acts of delegation or training or critiquing as sufficiently more valuable than the actual work of the managed. Every time someone agrees to accept higher pay for controlling someone else’s work/efforts I think they’re complicit in a corrupt game that allows people to starve on the street while others enjoy mega yachts.
Feels a bit like an ad hominem. “You look fat and you drive so there’s no way you’re making valid points or change elsewhere in your life.” I do agree it is regrettable when I choose to rely on convenience when it isn’t the healthiest, and when doing so puts more money into the hands of businesses I don’t like. In that way I am an enemy to myself and somewhat hypocritical but it doesn’t invalidate my point or my efforts elsewhere.
@@godsfool5284 I have had managers who actually did the management job of telling customers "no" and getting the resources and information their "reports" needed to get the work done. Making the decisions is why you get paid more, not controlling workers. You should give management a try and see.
Judge much? It's probably hard to see other people's point of view from way up on your high horse.
@@godsfool5284 Then why not just work only for yourself avoiding either dynamic? Seems like a false dichotomy

Honestly, I agree. As to who is to blame though I think the answer is closer to everyone. It’s a societal issue we all face and propagate because we were taught to. Figuring out that it’s bad isn’t the hardest thing in the world, but you can only ever actually change it if the entire population or at least an extremely large section of the population shifts at the same time. It’s not fair, and accepting that is a very stupid thing to do in my opinion, but we need to hold everyone accountable. If there was a way to make all of the “little guys” in this society rise up and shift all of their behaviors and actions to screw over the top percentage and push the world into a better point then it would be easy, but it’s not that easy. And getting to the point where you could even attempt to start that shift has a strong tendency to corrupt the minds of the people who got their to combat that system in the first place. It’s kinda hard to push everyone against the top 1% of wealth and social class when you’re now in the top 1% of wealth and social class. It’s a big issue that I don’t know how to fix outright. But I think you’re doing a good job by making these videos, so keep at it man.
Thank you for your response and I wish you the best of luck as well. I know so many of us see this and feel this.

@@thomasrutledge5941 1. Very interesting. I remember in RD Laing’s “The Divided Self” learning that double binds especially in early development could be the cause or contributing factor to schizophrenia. I remember my dad making me feel very guilty for loving my step-dad. For me, if you group them both under the category of father, it’s as if “father says the best way to love your father is to not love your father, even though father treats you better and is safer than father.” I was guilted out of developing a naturally stronger attachment to the healthier father figure, to prove that I loved my father and didn’t deserve his wrath.
2. The element of always referring to others’ opinions on whether a feeling/behavior/thought is acceptable is interesting. It’s tough sifting through whose or which opinions or feelings about you matter on a personal or moral sense.

“Good” is 💀
I generally agree with the idea that the leaders of the nation are not acting with the voters' best interests in mind- that they are in it for themselves at the end of the day. I however disagree with the idea that our vote doesn't matter. It does, it matters significantly more at the local and even state level. People tend to forget that voting happens more than just voting for president: the president isn't going to fix all our problems (though they can certainly cause a lot of issues). For example: people like to vote for a guy who says they will invest in infrastructure; about how they talk about how our infrastructure is old and falling apart. This is a true statement. People will vote for this person thinking that means the really shitty main road down the block that has caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to their car over the years from all the potholes and whatnot will finally get fixed... when in reality the president isn't fixing that road for them. That is a matter for the local government. When the president speaks of infrastructure, it is a broad brush that generally encompasses things like military bases (domestic and foreign), federally managed roadways, causeways and highways, bridges, dams, etc. Given how the electoral system functions: your vote influences it on the local level. Electoral votes swing state to state due to changes on the local level. This is why someone like Trump can lose the popular vote yet still win like he did in 2016. This is by design. The Founders didn't want uneducated farmhands who didn't know how to read voting on matters that directly affect the way the nation is run, financed and governed. Is this good or bad? Up to whoever is being asked, I suppose. Didn't mean to soapbox or ramble. Just thought I'd share my two cents, for whatever its worth I guess. I just personally feel that many people don't fully understand how the American political system is designed and how it runs, and in all honesty it isn't entirely the voters' fault.
We are all in for ourselves at the end of the day. I agree with ur comments. We could try to fix our education system, but that requires voting.
One side wants a full-on christo-fascist violent hateful country. The other side is Biden. The choice, as bad as they are, could not be more clear #votebiden
