    Could you tell me what kind are those batteries and where I can get some. I bought the wrong batteries because I was watching the wrong video. You have the same mower as me. I have a question. 48V 50Ah is official specification to operate this lawn mower, is it possible to upgrade battery pack from 48V 100Ah? (12V 50Ah x 4 series). ?

    • @motoshane2
      @motoshane2 Рік тому

      The mower comes with 4 12v batteries each at 50ah in series already. Multiply 12v x 4 only increases voltage in series to 48v, but the ah stays at 50ah. If you stick with 4 lead acid batteries, you can't increase capacity unless you replace all 4 batteries with larger batteries, but that will not fit if your mower has no extra room. Space is what is restricting capacity with lead acid.

    • @motoshane2
      @motoshane2 Рік тому

      And you can't change the series/parallel configuration because the mower has to see roughly 48v nominal or it won't operate. Capacity can increase, but voltage can not change.

    @DjKamiKaze09 Рік тому

    Why the uno battery? There's cheaper LifePO4 options..

    • @motoshane2
      @motoshane2 Рік тому

      There might be. Nothing I found would fit my mower without major alterations to the mower. Plus I get more capacity in a much smaller package. The Uno is a NMC battery, not a lifepo4. They have more capacity for their weight and size then lifepo4 and it was nearly a perfect fit. Also, the more capacity you have, the longer the battery will last since it's cycling less, due to the larger capacity. Do the math, and you'll see the cost is nearly the same with lifepo4 when you factor per amp-hour capacity.

    • @DjKamiKaze09
      @DjKamiKaze09 Рік тому

      @@motoshane2 Li-Time makes pretty direct fit LifePO4 batteries that utilize the OEM wiring, so don't need to do any changes. I was looking at the UNO previously, but the cost is too much for me personally, the Li-Times are 339 each, so I'm about to go with those in a season of two since my lead acids are still holding up fine.

    • @motoshane2
      @motoshane2 Рік тому

      I looked at their site. They sell lifepo4 batteries similar to many other companies. Both the 50ah 12v and the 12v mini 100ah are the closest for fit, but both will likely need mower frame alterations to fit the RM300e mower. If I had a larger mower I likely would have gone the lifepo4 direction. It's one of the reasons I went with the Uno. Fit is not in question. Charger and battery fit with space left over. To me, the cost was a trade off for simplicity of the install. I do agree that lifepo4 12v and 48v metal incased single golf cart batteries are great options. I just choose a different direction. Thanks for the discussion.

      @@motoshane2 Epoch Batteries have a Conversion system that fits and is less that the Uno. Shipping for the Epoch is like 35-40 bucks. The bundle is 1033.** and some change. 11 year warranty! No cons going with the conversion. Only pros. 30ah of LFP4 I’ll cut about 1.25-1.5 acre with flat landscape and the thickness does make a small difference in cut time. With the 480s, you could fit 2 which = 60Ah, depends on how much you need to cut.

    • @motoshane2
      @motoshane2 3 місяці тому

      Uno was $32 per ah to purchase (no longer available). Epochs you suggest are $28 per ah. Epochs are 66lbs for 60ah, and the Uno is 48lbs for 90ah. Uno is .5lb per ah and epochs are 1lb per ah. I'm still happy with my purchase other than Uno is now out of business. Reducing the price down to 60ah Uno equivalent, I only paid $200 more than a set of Epochs. And I appreciate the weight and size savings, with 30ah extra range. I'm happy.

    Why is this battery setup $2900, more than the mower itself. Am I looking at the wrong thing?

    • @motoshane2
      @motoshane2 Рік тому

      You are looking at this correctly. The mower is cheap compared to other electric mowers because it uses lead acid from the manufacturer. Compare to prices of mowers manufactured with lithium batteries, And those mowers are much more expensive because of the batteries. A new set of lead acid batteries is $800-$1000. Lead acid will last 2-4 years (most see 2 years). In a 10 year span, you'd break even or even save money using lithium vs lead acid, but you get double the range for the same price or less. Now the question is, can you afford $3,000 up front, or $1,000 every 3 years roughly.

    • @motoshane2
      @motoshane2 Рік тому

      You will be just fine with one battery. These mowers don't pull as much as a golf cart. The highest draw I could get out of my mower was 42amps when pushing it very hard, and I can't only hit that momentarily. Even if yours pulled double the amps, that's still under 100amps continuous, let alone hitting the 200 and 500 amp surge profiles of the Uno battery. I'd just clear it for warranty purposes with Uno. Send them an email.

    Hi: I see you have some experience with the cellmeter 8, and I was wondering if you could answer a question - when NOT connected to the 150W discharge module, does the "discharge indicator on the cellmeter blink or stay solid? The reason I ask is I bought 2 cellmeters and 2 discharge modules, but cant get the discharge modules to work (led on solid, no light bulbs light). and the discharge indicator on the meter is not flashing either. t 1st, I thought that was because the meter wasn't "detecting" the module, but one happy owner told me that the discharge indicator on his meter flashed no matter what. Any knowledge of any of this? Thanks! Dave.
