The designers didn't think the whole "can't trade and can't use AH" feature through completely to all items like gobbiebag quests when they created the mode. But you'll find that all the GM's & their LS/friends, have everything unlocked without going through the grind. When we confront them they'll claim they just got amazing luck at drops, like always, or they'll pretend they farm high NPC sellable items 20 hours a day. The server as a whole is fun if you want to solo as much as possible but if you want to get into endgame CW mode, you need to become friends with the people who can just generate items for you or you'll never get anywhere. Nearly every person on the leader board is part of the same few groups.

cats eye reminds me of turtle wow in that it's kind of like a classic + server. It's as if the game continued as it did irl but never raised the level cap

Why not just fight Argus? His respawn timer is much faster than it used to be and he has the same drop rate. Also, incredibly soloable.

Nah just get your best friend who has Blue Mage and have him cleave your ass to 99 then spend 8 months building your skills up and learning your character like my friend did... He quit after that though. In all honesty though this is a good comprehensive guide. If I can offer anything it is this: Cap your skills as best you can, learn your job and even jobs you don't play so you know what is good to do and not to do EX: Using warcry on warrior subjob to override warrior on main job warcry. <--- That is an absolute sin, please don't do this. HAVE FUN, this game can be played at your own pace. Learn, explore and relax. If anyone ever needs anything I'm on Sylph and I am always happy to help or just level if you're into that :)

When i left in 2006, i retired my 71 blm. I never reached 75. It took days of leveling to just level one time. And then i see this video, and you pop out of the video and pop back in saying you are 75. Just curious, how long does it take to level from 70-75 these days?

After watching this series, I'm pretty sure I'll take RDM/NIN up first just for the survivability unlocking content. Just being able to throw quick refresh and regen without stopping along with the non magic utility of ninja to sneak/invis around is too advantageous. But that's probably just my dread of hassle showing and PTSD from going through 100% of the content before as DRK & SMN before I retired after seraph server was shut down 😅

Sorry but you are wrong about MND, as Elvaan has the highest MND ands STR, Glaka has highest STR. That being said stats are meaningless nowadays

Oh my god, you are a lifesaver. I am a returning player and I have been trying to get to Kirin on and off for the past month. I went 0/26 (0/78 across three characters) the old 75 cap way and I thought the game was bugged. I searched online and couldn't find any change to get to Kirin (aside from a SE rep's post which I couldn't find the follow up to) and I was waiting for the next maintenance to hopefully fix it. Then I found your video and I went 1/1 taking your path. I was so relieved.

I tired getting it up a few months back. But it flat out would not accept anything i gave it the registration for play online. Once i best dawntria, im thinking of giving it another shot

Hey brother, are you using the DarkStar Project to run this? I'm thinking of teaching a group of special needs kid using FFXI private server to help foster team work and such. But I'd like to know which project has the least amount of bugs so I don't frustrate the kids.
