I’ve been a reborn artist since 2000 and Ive seen this over and over these new artist coming in charging as much as very experienced artists. I’ve also seen some appalling reborns for sale for several hundreds of dollars and I just don’t get it! When I reborn a baby I dress it and take pictures and that’s it until it gets packed up and sent off! Another pet peeve of mine is artists that charge a lot of money for their reborns and then send them home with dollar store pacifiers, toys, etc and cheap clothes or used clothes!

Oh, he looks precious!!! Just perfect! Oh yes, Lei's Insta stories are totally blowing up! It's crazy how many people follow and view them! It makes me super happy that our hobby is more seen now! I've also embraced IG stories and I also don't bother to block anyone anymore.......it's so clear that our haters have all the fake accounts to watch us very closely! Lol! So yup, let them look and thanks for the view even though they're always screaming that they don't follow us! Hahahaha!!! You know what they say......"thou that protest too much", right?! Ha! Yup thats really weird to sell a doll as new after taking it all over the place and dressing it a bunch. I would never! After I finish a doll, I put it in a cute outfit and take pictures then it waits on my shelf until they get sold!! The only time I ever redress a doll for sale is if I want to take new pictures for their listing.

I love them both but Brody is the front runner for me. However, a disclaimer here, the Wilby kit is not a favorite for me BUT, then I saw your sweet Evan and I could just eat him up! Quite often though, the ones I have seen for sale mostly just looks like a doll. Not the case with Evan though! I think for me, you hit the nail on the head as to why Brody wins out. His newborn realism is tops with me! I love the elephant, it is such an unusual pattern for a baby toy. Xx

I must say that Brody is totally a favorite of mine! There's just something about his sweet little self but I have to say that I think both are absolutely beautiful! Evan looks perfect in the Minutus sweater.......the brand is sooooo nice! I love that you've dove right in with your changing table and that you are enjoying having it. I totally think I prefer this angle when you're filming, the babies always look so perfect at this angle!! It really does make everything so lovely to have all the baby furniture for our babies.......LOVE IT!!! Strangely enough, I don't care for baby bouncers at all! Lol! I am the odd man out on that for sure! I don't like having small babies close to the floor for some reason. I think I use the Bloom seat for the similar purpose as a bouncer instead. You make me giggle.......you are so right that it's beyond baffling to why certain people lie about how they get money to buy things in the hobby when there's no reason to justify it at all, let alone feel the need to lie about it! So stupid and unnecessary, yet it really just goes to show the low level of intelligence of certain particular person doing exactly that.....like, duh, we can see your public selling accounts and know what you sell your crap for.......at least half the price taking such a HUGE loss on literally everything she sells, and things that she's only had for sometimes less than a week! Hahahaha!! She's soooooo dumb!!! You are sooooooo right!!! Lol! Love you bunches!! xxxooo's

I been collecting reborn dolls about 4 years now and I like simple and realistic kits, yessss the legs it is important to me too I can’t stand the baby lower leg is glued to the thighs also when the baby do not have neck at all, ohhh gosh I’m to particular lol. Also, on the Quinlyn, the divet under the nose is way too deep and pronounced and one big toe is bent down at almost a 90 degree angle! Im quite picky. Totally agree with the new artist thing. Oh my gosh. I absolutely LOVE this on sweet little Evan! 😍😘

That's definitely not on !! Beside you use different artists to get different results ! You would know Shirley's anywhere , because of her style which she's taken many years to perfect , likewise with Ruth Annette I don't understand that at all !

Great topic it drives me Mad! it’s totally different to an experienced artist selling from private collection (you know it’s then second hand and priced accordingly and most collect the high end dolls too ) also higher end artist don’t often show private collections they just have them loved but not used as such … that artist mentioned she was going to keep it for a few months then sell got very upset that people think her work isn’t worth big bucks and has said doll around her animals and in charity shop clothes but then wants middle end prices 😮 it also drives me mad that anyone who slaps paint on a doll calls them self an ‘artist ‘ 😂 Anyway enough of that .. As for dolly icks yup once I see something especially that dang leg crease I can’t in see it 😂 I tend not really sell much (it’s the Toy Story effect 😂😂 it might think I don’t love it anymore😂😂) But once I see the leg you can bet you will never see that doll without pants on or a blanket over the knee 😂 yes poor Molly muffin chops with her rubbish knees 😂

After all my years- 15 or so- I’ve gone from loving any baby I can afford, through to loving a particular kit, to seeing a baby and instantly giving my heart to it! Ooooohhhhhhh.....this is a great topic! I have a loooooooong list of things that make me immediately not want to keep a doll, however, I have gotten much better about allowing myself to really take the time to get to know each new doll that comes home to me without too much judgement these days. I'm quite picky right out the gate before even buying a doll and will pick each one I see apart in the artists or collectors pictures and most of the time I talk myself out of wanting the doll......so if they pass the test of me looking for flaws in pictures then I may purchase the doll but once it arrives home, I usually see things that bother me almost immediately, if it's not going to work out. The body.......the hand gestures, realism of the overall kit as well as proportions of all the limbs being right......and that's just the tip of the ice burg that I critique with each new doll! Lol! I'm utterly ridiculous, I know this but that's just me! They have to have all the thingssss that make me fall in love, the complete package or it just cannot stay. I've been quite lucky as of late with having had perfect babies find their way to me and for that I am so grateful! And another great topic..........yes, this is a seriously annoying thing that new artists I see doing and nope! Such nonsense with the reasoning they give as well! I totally agree with everything you're saying here! What also bugs me so much in this hobby is way too many people, whether it be artists or collectors, they seem to lie about the "new" condition of dolls and items that they sell on! WTF?!! He is such a peaceful baby! I am not sure which artist you mean but I know when I first started painting I didn’t charge very much at all lol. Like I think I did 125.00 usd !! Artist and crafters never get paid for the time you spend. Not really. It is just how that goes. I would feel guilty even asking for an “hourly” fee. I love Making them and if I could afford it to I’d do it for free just to see how happy They Make People. Anyway good topic. Have a great day! ❤
