Unboxing on a seat cushion, stupid!
It was a success to me!! Being that it's not a dirt bike/scooter.., it's still operational after the off-road trip. 😊
lol u had a hard time getting up that wood
Ever think about sitting on a pillow?
Hi Jared could you please tell me when you got that Smart Lock from. Great review videos
Amazon - Cable Lock Keyless Waterproof Bicycle Lock eLinkSmart: 150cm Long Steel Cable Lock for Bike Scooter Motorcycle Door Fence Gate - Fingerprint Unlock Phone App Remote Authorized Support iOS Watch
@JustBeingJared thanks bro waiting on your next video oh by the way I'm in Central Illinois have you ever fished this part of the state I'm in Danville
@alceearsberry4150 No problem! Yeah sadly the weather hasn't cooperated with many videos lately... and the closest I have fished around there is clinton lake. Usually go camping there a couple times and year.
You do know there is a weight limit on this scooter. It needs suspension... Get a dirt bike.
@kittensittin1925 Yup, weight limit on this model is 265, I am about 200. I agree it does need suspension, but that would make it more expensive. And no thanks, I don't want a dirt bike. This was simply a test to see what the scooter could endure, it's pretty obvious I was not expecting it to do a good job 🤣
Thinking about getting a fishing kayak. Good review and thanks for sharing. How did you like the two piece setup? How long does it take you to setup?
@Opelika_Possum The most time consuming part is taking all the gear on/off. Actually putting the 2 pieces together takes no more than a couple minutes.
Nice setup.
the scooter wasn't made for serious off-road use as it seems to be more of if you have a quick thing to do in the city or town take it instead of your car type of deal my aunt got one for herself after I showed her that I was going to buy for myself she got hers first she liked it but it was too heavy for her to carry up and down her stairs so she gave it to me I plan on using it for getting to collage if it's not raining or going to the store just brought a chain to lock it up with as well as some rearview mirrors so I can see behind me though I think that would make folding rather tough but if all works I can use it for Door Dash and get their bike bag and to that to make some extra money for myself.
you can have the rear fender on with the rear basket
Super helpful! I was struggling putting it together and yours was the first video to come up. I appreciate the tutorial!
Hey man thanks for this video. I actually watched most of it because 1. I have this scooter and fucking love it and 2. holy crap you beat the hell out of this thing. I appreciate you putting this to a I'm gonna beat the hell out of it test so I don't have to. I mean it's fairly obvious it's not meant for this so I would never do that but it's great to see how durable it really is despite the motor cutting out on you. Maybe it's a safety feature to preserve the life of it? Anyway that is one of my favorite things about it: it's light but still feels solid and safe to ride. It seems like every owner of this agrees that it needs shocks but we all still love it anyway. I have over 100 miles on mine now and even though shocks would be better, I'm totally fine without them. Once you are fully experienced with what this can and can't do, it's a smooth ride even without shocks and the seat is one of the best ever. This thing is like a bar stool on wheels. Oh man if they marketed this thing as a bar stool on wheels and it caught on it would be the end of civilization. You and I are almost the exact same size. This thing can carry a decent amount of beer and it can comfortably take you almost anywhere and back within a 5 mile radius. Imagine a bunch of guys like us loading these things up and just going anywhere to get wasted. Probably not the worst way to end civilization. XD
I would have buy better brand like gotrax or any other american brands that you can order parts from.
@ELY3M This one is cheaper. The whole point was to get the cheapest one possible to test. Also the gotrax does not have the large center basket, which I use for tackle when I go fishing.
Thank you for filming your face instead of the scooter. Thank you for making your viewers listen to that brown noise (a.k.a. "music") instead of the scooter.
My pleasure! Thanks for the view!
@@JustBeingJared The pleasure is yours indeed! :)))
🤣🤣🤣 glad to see I'm not the only one who had a difficult time putting this thing together hope you're enjoying yours!
Honestly, im surprised it didn't break... They seem like good scooters, but it was definitely not meant for this lol.. Maybe it's built decently well if it survived this. Do you know if this scooter is actually UL Certified? They say it is, but i havjt been able to confirm that, and i know these manufacturers lie about that a lot now.
@jaymartinson3236 I'm pretty surprised as well. I'm also pretty annoyed by my horrible camera angle and want to do this again, but I'm afraid it might not make it next time 😅 As far as the UL certification, I have no idea, my guess would be probably not.
Great tutorial. It looks like a bit of a challenge, but it's worth it. Solid scooter.
@aoxomoxoanyc Much easier than I made it look, if I would've done this video in my garage instead of my tiny basement it would've been alot easier with more space.
@justbeingjared can you stand up in it ?
@laddcampbell2833 Physically, yes if you have good balance. Manufacturer does not recommend it though, since it is only 9.5 feet and most people aren't stable enough to stand in a kayak that short
@laddcampbell2833 but they have longer / larger modular models available which would be better suited for standing.
Interesting but not set in stone. For example, the range could be different in the city traffic, with all the stops and goes. It could also be affected by wind, or temperature, or riding style, or rider weight, or previous abuse, or manufacture defects, etc.
I understand, which is why I stated my weight and the outside temp in order to make sure people understand that this is my specific results under my stated circumstances.
@@JustBeingJared Duly noted. By the way, does the C1S have regen braking?
@@Pankratnazar-m1n no, it does not.
@@Pankratnazar-m1n Regen breaking only exists in high tier E-bikes and scooters, not on anything under $2000, let alone under $400
@@mythoti "Not on anything under $2000"? Thanks for the epiphany. 😃 I have a $600 scooter that has regen braking (not "breaking"!).
Sounds good, but my thoughts are about it possibly warping thru time and not go together as when they are new???
@user-wu1cx1cg6b Honestly haven't thought about that, but so far I haven't seen that reported by anyone as being a problem. I think the kayak is good enough quality that in order for it to warp that bad it would have to be extremely mistreated, like left outside for years at a time with no protection.
i flipped mine twice already trying to stand up to take a leak on a large lake during a windy day already. 2nd time flipped trying to recover what i could after leaning into the direction the rudder was going without realizing. Lost a rod, 3 tackle boxes, my polarized fitovers, my rod holder and my KastKing folding net. Won't be making any of those mistakes again lol. Edit: i have 2 pairs of those brush clips, they are NO JOKE. i hauled an entire dead/fallen juvenile tree away from the bank with it while connected to the kayak
@alhenry92 look into the outriggers on the Reel Yak site for windy days! I have a local friend who had the same problem on a larger lake on a windy day. I have never had any issues yet luckily.
Would be nice to see something other than the handlebars next time.
Agreed, that's why I apologized in the intro because I wasn't aware that the angle was too low until I was editing. New camera learning experience.
What do you want to see with the scooter next?
Video about the equipment specifics on the scooter as well as a look into whether it actually has UL Certification or not? Just found your channel a few days ago. Subscribed!
I'm sorry if you already said what these are in the video, but exactly what are those 4 tube things you have in the rear basket? I've been buying accessories for my scooter and they don't always have the best options for mounting like the new rear light I got. I have to mount the light to the seat but I would like to be able to mount it to the basket and until now I haven't seen anything like that. If you can do a video about available options for mounting things like lights then that would be cool. I've seen another video where a guy was able to pull a cart with it. That might be something interesting to explore.
@dankeefer8859 those are fishing rod holders, I mainly bought this scooter to get to some more remote fishing spots. it's great for taking the long trails that run along my local rivers.
@@JustBeingJared Oh nice! I've been thinking about learning to fish so good to know. I am fortunate enough to have a 14 mile long paved trail to take it down. There are parts with people and parts with almost no one at all. I can load the center basket with everything I need: tire slime, air pump, tools, gloves, mask, riding glasses, water, lock, all my tech, and still have room for a little camping stool, tripod, and I think I may even be able to fit in a folding table but I haven't tried yet. I just like to ride to a nice spot to chill and watch the sunset. Yeah I still haven't even used that rear basket much yet so I'm thinking I'm gonna be able to carry more than I realized.
Does this 9.5' not have the latches on the bottom as well?
@@jazfromhouston Nope, only the 2 on the top for this one.
I’d like to see some review videos of you out on the water with it.
If you don’t mind me asking I have the same kayak and just got the same cup holder. How did you mount it to the rail, I got a one sided bolt and am struggling
The cup holder should've come with a T bolt correct, and then the cup holder threads onto the bolt? Grab a pair of pliers and remove one of the plastic end caps at the end of the rain, slide the T bolt to where you want it, screw on the cup holder, and then put the plastic rail end cap back on.
Where you at in Illinois I’m in the Aurora are ?

@@JustBeingJared cool maybe one day we can hang and do a collaboration video
How did you custom rig the go pro mount, i want to do the same.
Does the pedal drive come with the kayak or do you need to buy it
It comes with it.
Can it be use on the springs / running water ? Do u think a 4'11 woman can carry it alone ?
It cuts in half! Half the weight I'm sured I'd be fine
And yes it can be used anywhere
@@bigbird73160Thank you
Can it be use on the springs / running water ?
4'11 here do u think I can reach the pedal ? How is the warranty works with Reel Yaks ?
Any new videos of this on the water?
Safe enough for the ocean bays and harbors? (inside the break walls)
I wouldn't feel confident saying any kayak is "safe" per say. I would say yes, but grabbing the stabilizers in an ocean condition where width doesn't really matter, seems like the best combination. It is only 9.5', but Reel Yaks has tons of models that could be more specific for this exact scenario.
Thanks. 🤙🏼
Im 310 pounds 5foot 10 , do you think I would be comfortable?
220 lbs 5 foot 11 id go a lil bigger if u want to fish it's great to get around but I'd like more room for fishing lil wider
@stevenkilleen8149 thank you , I think I will end up getting the nucanoe unlimited
How’s it going. Was wondering if this thing would be suitable for inshore use?

Nice video! It’s really helpful because I do wanna order the similar thing! Is it possible that you can show us how it looks when you fit it into the car? That would be more helpful. Thank you
I am actually planning on making a video about this, this weekend when I pack up for a full day float down a river for Father's Day! So it should be up within the next week or so!
Where can i get a box like that
Tackle Warehouse!
Picked one up myself, when the seat is in the high position my rudder handle hits. Have you had any luck finding 3d printed seat risers for this brand?
I am not sure what you mean by high position? As far as I can tell my only adjustments on the seat is forward or backwards a couple inches depending on your height. I have my seat in the further back position and do not have any problems. As far as raising the seat goes, I have not looked into that.
How do you feel about the clips that hold the two sections together? Are they sturdy? I kayak in calm small lakes...until the wind kicks up. In the event of section clip failure, how easy is it to find the part to replace it?
I have had no issues with the clips at all. They seem pretty heavy duty to me, and I honestly do not see them failing, especially from normal use. I do not see the part listed on the website, which to me seems like people don't need to replace them often if ever. The company has fantastic support and I'm sure if they did fail it would be covered under warranty, or if out of warranty I'm sure they could get you the parts needed to repair.
What's the shallowest water you can use those foot peddle gizmos in? Also, how does it handle with just a two paddled kayak ore, in the event you're in water that's too shallow to use the foot peddle setup?
So, to use the complete motion of the pedals, I'd guess somewhere in the 12-18 inches of water range depending on weight. Since it is the fin drive, the pedals are a "back and forth" motion, instead of a circle like on a bike. So, say you are in about 8-10 inches of water, you can sort of stutter the pedals in shorter motions (the fins will still hit the ground) and it will keep you moving. If you are going less than 8 inches I think the pedals become useless, in which case you push one pedal full forward, which raises the fin drive to its highest point, and you can paddle just like a normal kayak down to probably 6 inches minimum and that would be dragging the fins on the bottom. I have done all of this plenty of times to the point of being so shallow I also drag my rudder at times as well. So far everything has helf up and I have never been completely stuck to where I could not move using my paddle. Lastly worth mentioning, this company does send you an extra set of fins with the kayak so if you damage them you have spares!
Hows its holding up? Saw a review stating the rudder cable broke ater first use. Want to love it, but the cheaper pedal drives have a bad rep.
I also saw the same review, but mine has held up great! IMO, the person whose rudder cable broke probably had it too tight, as it is adjustable, and you have to connect it yourself. The pedal drive is also solid and k have put it through some abuse. I have bottomed out and forced this thing through way shallower water than it should be in, dragging the pedal drive and rudder and still have no issues. Also a very good friend also bought one shortly after me and he has had no issues either.
Does it let water in at the connection?
Yes and no.... the connection point is not water sealed, but in order for the top of the seam to be low enough for water to get in, the kayak would basically need to be under water. I have had this out in rivers, lakes, and ponds and up to 30mph+ winds and have no issues with water in any way.
Cool setup bro, we will have to do a kayak trip someday soon. Keep up the great content.
How is standing on it? Does it give a lot of forgiveness for balancing on it since it is a cheaper alternative?
Not going to lie, I haven't tried it yet. They do make a stabilizer kit, I know that. But being my first fishing kayak and only having it out a few times so far, I don't trust my balance yet to try standing.
I just ordered this same yak from amazon today, it’ll be here 5/3/24. Super excited about it because I drive a Kia soul and it’s plenty spacious to haul this style boat
I used to have a soul and went up to the seltos when my son was born for a little extra space

Hey brother so I ordered mine yesterday and just ran across your video.3 months in do u still like it a lot ?
I just ordered one also and I’m wondering the same thing.
Hi, what’s the model and brand of your kayak cart? I’m a newbie too and I got the same kayak. I weigh 175lbs and I feel that the kayak is stable enough but I tried it out in the socal harbors and was waked by some boats which rocked me pretty good. I’ve been having a hard time doing research for some outriggers but not sure which one would fit in the slot and hardware that would match the screw holes. Any thoughts??? Thanks
The cart I have is "Onefeng Sports" on Amazon, it was like 40ish dollars and pretty cheap. I hope to get a better one in the future. The outrigger situation I have not looked into. I can tell you that when I moved the rod holder mount from up front to the rail, I learned that the threaded holes for the rod mount as well as the track system nuts were both M6 size. So, I would assume that the outrigger mounts would be the same. I should have an exact screw and thread answer for you later today as I am currently working on an anchor mount myself.
@@JustBeingJared thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. If you can confirm on the size of the screw; that would be great. On a different note if you do decide one day to get outriggers. Steer clear of the brocrafts or at least the one that is designed to be mounted on your rails. The rails on the reel yaks modular 9.5 are incapable of handling that weight and buoyancy stress. My trial and error would save you some time and headaches. I am currently looking for an outrigger that utilizes the round grooves behind the seat.
@johnnyphive4083 I don't have the info yet, sadly work went late today. BUT I did find a little good news. If you go to the Reel Yaks website they have their own stabilizer kits specially made for each of their kayak models and it comes with the mounting hardware! It's on their website under parts tab.
@johnnyphive4083 if you do decide to go with the Reel Yaks stabilizers please consider using my referral, would be much appreciated! reelyaks.myshopify.com?ref=hookin
