I left ya comments an you got back to me I am Hamada friend he sent me a picture of your hum an I told him that you been helping me online. Take care
Trying to order one now, their website is a bit weird. My glow light blinks on then off and after some sleuthing this camotek pcb seems to be the way to go
@@Jay172967 call the guy. He helped me place mine over the phone. It’s just a single dude I believe but super helpful. Had mine for a bit now and works like a champ
Thanks agen I will try Saturday Tuesday I sprayed some started fluid in turned it to run the light blinked waited 6 seconds fired right up I am going to call about the box tomorrow. Thanks for you help I will do like ya said
So frustrating put all new glows in an TCS in I hope I didn't fry them
@@michaelpandolfi9765 pull a plug or two if you wanna know for sure. Mine were all kinds of distorted. Looked like someone tried to weld on them. Also if you’re trying to check with a cheap multimeter you may need to adjust the setting way higher than normal bc they could be reading in the millions and not pick up on normal settings if box is bad. Ask me how I know 🤣
Thanks for getting back to I been trying to get with Camotec but when I click on there site I just get a blank screen not getting any voltage to the plugs
What happen to that other box u bought an it didn't work did you figure out what the problem was
@@michaelpandolfi9765 the other box was stock from when I bought the hummer. It was sending constant voltage and frying the glow plugs.
Thank you for keeping our history alive. I very much appreciate your efforts to do so.
That top is tops
Putih kerreen
Also a fun fact that out of all the P53 Enfield’s that was used, the Confederacy had the majority of the best made ones due to them securing a deal with London Armory
Will this box solve cold start issues? Mine hates cold unless I use a block heater….
This plus new glow plugs installed after did for me. The old plugs got burned out by bad factory box. You can test if old box is bad and sending constant 24v which burn out plugs in 1 cycle. This box has been solid
Rig looks great! Did you do the paint yourself or send it somewhere?
Thanks. All myself. Got the paint from a local auto paints supplier and bought the guns from harbor freight. Got the high end guns to make sure finish looked good..I just got rims and tires I’ll post a video soon
Looking forward to it! What paint and clear coat did you use?
Where did you get the brown leathers? I can't find them
Outstanding presentation, sir. Thank you for bringing this presentation to us and for keeping history alive for the future generations!! Best wishes
NOW THAT'S AMERICAN!!! No Tag heads here!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m amazed that I had happened to stumble upon this video because I was there, I am with the 149th Bucktails
Haversacks holds food, not personal items. Unless you want your personal items to be in with your food and get greasy.
I hate when they say put other stuff in a greasy smelly haversack. Try 3 days rations, you see fast there ain’t no room for “stuffers”
@@3b1d5c Exactly.
Countless upon countless reports of soldier having massive stains on their legs from the lousy food that was stuffed in their haversack
I usually carried 2 bags the main was my haversack and then I carried a muslin bag for other items. I was with the 1st Minnesota Co. A
The color grey (among others) has to do with a shortage of dyes. As for uniforms and accoutrements, the Confederate armies were very well supplied and had established depot systems in the late war; the early war period is when they struggled, with the Antietam campaign in '62 being the worst period of dress (more so rags) of the Army of Northern Virginia. Pictures of Confederate dead at Fort Mahone in '64 is a good example. It's counterintuitive since as the war progressively became a lost cause, the Confederate armies became better equipped. But, in a war of attrition, manpower and material become the deciding factor. Lee knew this which is why he tried scoring early decisive victories against the Federals. Some "historians" miss the interpretation (correct at that) Lee had of the war, which is that risky and audacious actions were the only way the South could hope to win, by either convincing the Northern populace it was not worth fighting or by gaining recognition from European powers (thereby legally nulling the blockade). A prolonged, defensive war would only ensure eventual Union victory.
Very good video. That's a lot of A -frames in camp. I enjoy seeing other reenactment units out there. 👍😊
This was very interesting on history, pointing out little details.. thanks for sharin.. from South Carolina
His uniform is so wrong
@@whitechickencowwow please... explain I'm trying to get every piece of info on the civil war
Best done. Thanks.
Greetings from the Washington Territory! Good video. Informative and clear.
Hey, that’s me! Thanks for coming out to our event! Hope your students liked the video!
Thank you! The classes were super stoked that I had some personalized videos for them to see and they found your video and the others very informative and got a better understanding on the uniform and equipment carried during the war. And a few got the dates for upcoming re-enactments, so they might see you in the near future.
One could only imagine the terror in a soldiers eyes when the officer says the dreaded: ""Fix bayonets!""
It would be very sobering. Especially since at best a soldier could fire about 3 shots per minute so if this line of bayonets come at you they’re gonna be on you quick with little to do but fix bayonets yourself
Have y’all seen Gettysburg(1993)?
Many times. And every time I would take my college buddies out in Gettysburg I’d always point out the hotel on the circle where the cast of the movie stayed
Traitors aren't "Soldiers". They are terrorists.
Allegedly, the first Confederate killed at the Battle of Gettysburg was Pvt Henry Raisin, company B, 7th Tennessee Infantry.
That’s a neat fact. I grew up less than 10 min from Gettysburg (about 40 min now) and have been hundreds of times and didn’t know that.
@@717Humvee I read that in a book titled "Gettysburg, The Long Encampment" by author Jack McLaughlin.
I’ll check it out when I get a chance
Looks good.👍🏻
Awesome
See if I'm right The union would not allow a soldier to go without blue The confederate army allowed grey, dark grey even brown lite brown street clothes At first both sides wore dark blue but that was bad use I am told General Robert E Lee chose grey because he wanted a brilliant color to offset his army
You’re pretty close. My understanding from readings and talking to reenactors/experts was that yes in the early days a decent amount of souther soldiers had blue as they had previously served in the federal army. However in battles such as Bull Run we also see Northern troops ie from Mass. show up wearing grey as well. This caused major confusion on the battlefield as you could imagine. The southern states decided to adopt grey and later butternut as it was 1 already being used by state militias 2 cheaper to dye and 3 able to be dyed with things like walnuts as even grey dye became scarce later in the war
Confederates would also wear whatever they could get their hands on later on..ie after the raid on Harpers Ferry thousands of federal uniforms were captured and attempted to be dyed to make them less blue
@717Humvee I heard that too If both sides wore same color it would be confusing Until the flag came in use
@@717Humvee Yea, I think in the deep south, maybe Forest or some other commander got upset that the captured coats were not dyed using the walnut dye. I kind of makes it a dark brown, not blue. I use it for furniture all the time.
Another reason they wore grey, was because grey was the color of local state militias, and served as symbolic of their struggle against the industrious North.
lol peckerwoods
Looks like pain to take them out lol, thanks for the tutorial. My humvee is not even starting anymore with cold weather, wait light doesn't come on and it keeps turning without starting. Was driving fine during the summer.
I’d say half are a real pain to take out. Before you replace the glow plugs check the voltage/amperage using a multimeter to make sure the start box isn’t bad or else you’ll be buying glow plugs 2 times if the box is bad. The glow plugs will def be the reason for the hard/non start in cold. It will start fine in temps about 50-60 ish without the plugs
You don't want to drill the dash but you painted it white and those red seats??? I don't think anyone will notice...
Paint is different than a big hole smack dab in the middle of the dash if I ever need to change the start box out for something else 🤷♂️
How much did that box run if you don't mind. I've got 2-998s.
My invoice was $910 shipped. I think it’s 100 cheaper if you go with the version with the button on the box instead of the cord. He might cut you a deal if you buy 2 though
@@717Humvee thankyou!!!
@717Humvee you've done a hell of a job on your paint. Looks great. I didn't do as nice a job. But mine are driven off road mostly and are dirty all the time. Always fun to see someone else working on these
Yes very helpful guy with hummer stuff
Met cam in person is a great person and recommend him also.
The other side is more difficult. How do you access the front two on the passenger side?
The 2 closest to the headlights are a pain in the ass. I use an extension on my socket and it made it easier. The two closest to the interior I go in through the doghouse
Red vinyl racing seats off of Amazon brother
What type of seats are those?
What spec of ammo?
Idk at this point honestly. Prob just some cheap 147 grain. That’s what’s I normally plink with. Maybe blazer or Remington
