This channel is a project designed by BA (Hons) undergraduate History students from Bournemouth University. Our project is bringing to life local history from Bournemouth from years of 1864 - 1914 using documents and sources from the Dorset History Centre. This will be put into 2-5 minute short video documentaries using footage and pictures. We will also be sharing a designed virtual walking tour so you can visit these locations using the Geotourist virtual tour.
Some of topics covered will be
The railway
The growth of the hotel / guest house trade
The growth of the built environment
Opportunities for both young men and young women
Early attractions
Early social problems
Famous visitors

Becoming Bournemouth The Documentary
This is a final year project by Bournemouth University history students, we have worked with over the last year with the Dorset History Centre. This documentary tells a story of Bournemouth using a lot of research and images. We have also created an walking tour using the Geotourist so you can visit the locations we have spoken about in this documentary. Please note this is for education purpose and not going to make any profit.
