I always watch videos about my favorite bands and artists to get glimpses into their songwriting, inspirations, advice they may have or just to understand their musical journey but it’s usually after the band is no longer around or someone passed away in the band unexpectedly. I really like your approach for the "missing" instruments. No matter how "unprofessional" the studio is, you just need to be creative and use the tools you have. If you ever need to add a snare drum to your guitar drum kit you could do it like Johnny Cash and put a playing card or paper between the strings
