The "echo" of the muffled sound has a really magic effect in combination with the minor key tune !
The treble for there C sharp ten.
Notes F
Notes G# F# E D# C# B A G# F# E
It’s interesting how on different bells when the tenor is not being used like middle 8 or the front 10 anywhere how it sounds very different.
That’s amazing when it’s played on this ten it sounds amazing.
Fuck
Sorry
Are they going to stay up forever
Yep they stay there for a bit
How is that muffled sound achieved ?
A leather muffle is attached to one side of the clapper
I used to wonder how muffles work but now I know because of the leather attached to the clapper which makes a really nice echoey sound like it’s coming from far away when actually your very close to that noise.
what method?
great!
That little girl is very well behaved and looks interested - a possible future bellringer!
Or d minor

In the key of c#
Sounds like a pentatonic scale
The bills are in the key of D-flat or C-sharp the same note just transposed to ways

Since i live in the US and I am young, im jealous that theres no change ringing bells near me!
Wow
For good ringing you need good ringers as well as good bells, and these are lovely ringers.
taylor bells
For LeamingtonSpa
I think this s such a great idea, plus you can ring without worrying about noise control. I like the idea of ringing rounds up and down as it teaches such good bell control that is needed especially when you ring on heavy twelves.
When Virtual Belfry's Harmonic Minor mode in Hobart becomes real!
what bells were used (eg bells 4, 5 and so on)
im trying to figure it out so i can do it in scratch
It’s probably 2,3,4,5#,6b,7,8,9,10,E which would give a C#-minor scale on this tower.
great to know i am not the only young ringer out there
Finest ring out there.
It's a privilege and a pleasure to listen to this clip. Stedman Triples with successive calls on the back eight of Worcester Cathedral. So musical.
And it was a bob course.
Good to learn good bell control and the ability to set at backstroke.
Are there any other towers that have a c# ten like this?
yes plenty. Maidstone for example
Mirfield are a good example
from the recording they sound identical to Grantham, and so to the new ring at St Michael Cornhill. Maidstone are a tad deeper in tone.
Beautiful bells. Worcester are one of the best sounding in the world. 1)York, 2)Redcliffe and 3)Worcester hopefully i will ring here on the 10th July 2021 if the RWNYC isn't cancelled
A pretty good light 10 Well not exactly light but lovely
Lovely minor scale.
Beautiful greetings from Flamborough.
Wonderful ringing. Greetings from Flamborough.
I think worcester has the 5th heaviest ring in the country, with Liverpool cathedral bieng the heaviest, and Exeter cathedral the 2nd!
1 Liverpool cathedral 82cwt 2 Exeter cathedral 72cwt 3 St Paul's cathedral 61cwt 4 Wells cathedral 56cwt 5 St Marys Redcliff 50cwt 6 Worcester cathedral 48cwt
@@RingerPeter Thankyou for your interesting information conceming bells in order of weight that hang for full circle rininging, i have visites the Belfrey of Liverpool Cathedtal as its one of the easiedt to a cend the others bieng a bit more difficult although they have been over the yearsopening up the toers more to the public, i have also been researching the towers with the most number of bells hung for full circle rimging, the tower with the most number in the world is christ church cathedral Dublin with 19 in all, and they are hung very close together as they would have to be, ! more towers are now containg 14 as some are bought from tedundant churches, St Martin in the Bullring Birmingham contains 16 and they are hung on a two tier system, i must visit it at some time.
@@RingerPeter you're forgetting York Minster which is 4th on the list with a 59cwt tenor.
@@tomchilds2187 oh yeah. Whoops. Thanks.
@@johnentwhistlesurelysamsun1840 Worcester cathedral is the 7th heaviest.
Every time I hear the bells, it gives me goosebumps!!
after east bergholt and east pennard
These are the heaviest by pulling a rope. East bergholt are done by hand and headstock also I believe east pennard are unringable
@@RingerPeter no, East Pennard are perfectly ringable. I rang there a few years ago
@mark regan aren’t you the tower captain
Well done Sam! keep going your doing really well! From Fred age 15
your too small to be 15 you look 11
Guess what? Nobody asked so shut ur mouth poshy
@@ivanbarritt you can't tell how small or tall someone is on a screen.
@@RingerPeter yes you can, ive been to Hereford cathedral myselfand i remember that celing height, you can also work out is height using the length of the sally (which i presume is a tiny bit larger than usual)
@@ivanbarritt don't say someone is small then.
These are lovely I live near these
Nice to so many young ringers. I am one myself and I have to ring in York minster next year!!!!!
I really hope this years competition goes ahead. I also here as a young ringer.
It's another bell that is used to make the eerie harmonics and minor tune they are creating.
how wonderful this played
Just the different atmosphere a minor key of bells can be. Even just adding a different note can make a difference.
