Blender Basics - How to Rotate Control Points of Curves with Tilting
You can find many 3D models, which can be used in Blender or other softwares, on the Adobe Stock 3D website at the following link:
* stock.adobe.com/search/3d-assets
Hello, everyone!
In this very brief basic tutorial, we’ll talk about a specific rotation called Tilting and the Tilt operator that allows us to perform it.
The definition of Tilting may sound intimidating, as it involves rotating the Normal of a curve's control point around the tangent direction of the curve at that control point.
Simply put, although not formally precise, it allows you to rotate the control point along the curve.

      Hi, it might have to do with the Color Management settings, which you can find at the bottom of the Render tab in the Properties editor, or with other Compositing effects if you have additional post-production nodes; in any case, it is possible to enhance the Glare effect, as I show in this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/N_Kx-ysBiB4/v-deo.html

    at 1:49 you mention that Depth (Z) is more suitable for Defocus effect yet at 14:26 you say mist is better suited for DoF :/

    • @fm3dtutorials
      @fm3dtutorials 2 місяці тому

      The sentence at 14:26 refers to the fact that Z-Depth uses a single sample, so it is not suitable for implementing anti-aliasing; for anti-aliasing, it's better to use Mist. Both nodes can be used for the effect, but we must know the limitations and characteristics of each. Here are links to two tutorials that might interest you: * How to set up anti-aliased Z-Pass in Blender 2.8: ua-cam.com/video/SCqQ_x0VGLc/v-deo.html * Get anti-aliased depth map in Cycles render: blender.stackexchange.com/questions/108556/get-anti-aliased-depth-map-in-cycles-render

    Thank you very much for the ingenious and simple explanation! I only succeeded thanks to your video. After rendering in the window "Render", everything looks perfect, but after saving the image to PNG (RGBA 16 bit), the glow effect disappears and the glow color becomes dim. Do you know what the problem is? Maybe it's the color space? I used AgX in Blender 4.2

    • @fm3dtutorials
      @fm3dtutorials 2 місяці тому

      Hi! Yes, the Color Space and other Color Management settings do affect the result, and in my case too, AgX reduces the glow effect, though it doesn't make it disappear completely... perhaps in your case the glow was very faint and becomes imperceptible... if needed, try boosting the glow like this: set the Mix Factor of the Glare node to 1, pass the output to an RGB Curves node, adjust the curve to enhance the effect, and finally, add the output of the RGB Curves to the original image. Let me know if this helps!

    It's really difficult to follow along this tutorial. Can you explain this using less technical terms?

    • @fm3dtutorials
      @fm3dtutorials 2 місяці тому

      Hi, I'll try to put it briefly: Z-Depth returns the actual distance values of objects from the virtual camera, in Blender's scene unit. This information can be used to achieve various effects, including fog, but it first needs to be normalized to the 0-1 range because many nodes operate within that value range. The minimum and maximum values obtained with Z-Depth correspond to the Clip Start and Clip End of the virtual camera. In the case of Mist, however, we immediately get a fog effect that starts at the Mist Start distance from the virtual camera and becomes progressively more intense (up to white) over a distance determined by Mist Depth.
