If we abolished judicial and prosecutorial immunity for blatantly obvious cases of bias in sentencing and forced pleas, then there wouldn't be a need for a law like this. Another secret: California has more racism in its legal system than the Deep South. Rodney King didn't get beat in 1960s Alabama. He got beat in 1990s Los Angeles. Most people know this problem is real; namely, poor academic performance by blacks. However, people are not willing to look at the major contributing factor, single- mother homes. That would be disruptive to the whole welfare/bureaucratic complex and hundreds of thousands of jobs.

First, India has the highest level of racism (ethnocentric bias) in the world. Second, the fact that East Indians would come to the U.S. to escape the social pathologies of India and East Asia then begin to make claims against American culture is a horrible vice. This begs the question, why come here? It also tends to reinforce the view that people-groups other than those who settled America are incompatible with our values.

Evidence is what should determine court cases, not politics. It is true, that the punishment should fit the crime, but past issues should not effect present cases that are not proveable of the existence of a conspiracy derived from bias. Bias is important when it comes to bureaucratic corruption. Those are a series of crimes within themselves. Is there evidence to support that the suspects committed these crimes regardless of the supposed bias? If that is the case, whether there is bias or not is secondary unless it can be proven that it contibuted to the crime in question(i.e. evidence tampering. Witness testimony alteration/rescindence). Each case should be weighed by the evidence and the punishment should fit the crime.

Sounds like a great idea, with the best of intentions! What could go wrong?!?

One minor critique of this video is when the bullet animations are shown at various point, the whole cartridge being fired where in reality only the bullet and not the casing is fired.

This entire video is incredibly stupid and dishonest. Where in the law did it say that convicted criminals can go free as you repeatedly claim in the video? Nowhere. It allows those who've been convicted of crimes who may have been unfairly treated by the justice system to CHALLENGE their sentencing, NOT going free. No sources, no accurate explanation of the law, no counter-argument-- just sidestepping all the difficult questions in favor of fear mongering. Absolutely atrocious "journalism", it takes away from any actually useful political discourse.

Great video. Officers need to have a peak at this information. Police departments are too busy arming their cops with ideology instead of law and preparedness to combat these issues in these acts
