Hi Jeremy, we bought in Rosedale last year. We love it, as it really feels like a piece of what I like to call "the old world" (from what I grew up with as a kid in the late 80's and 90's). It is quite and quaint but also rowdy at the same time with classic cars and motorcycles going by on Yale rd and a train that runs through. We found a detached home for as cheap as can be in this day and age that needs tons of work, but we love it and are currently fixing it up. Glad to hear it's one of your top places as well.

I worked for Griffin Security. I patrolled the downtown by foot. Starting in the morning to move homeless from door fronts and clean up after them. Then i moved to school district patrols at night. You couldn't pay me to live in Chilliwack.

Just like every other city, it’s turning into mini india with no signs of slowing down. As a result I’ve noticed a sharp increase in awful/dangerous drivers basically every time I go out. Traffic is unbearable day during the week it can legit can 30 minutes to get across town, when it otherwise should only take like 10 minutes. Construction is a nightmare, they seem to intentionally set up construction zones everywhere so there’s no escaping it, if you’re driving mid day you’re hitting construction, period. And the homeless problem is unreal. They’re drugged up, sometimes violent and sometimes dangerous. They steal and have no problem stealing in front of cameras or people because they don’t face consequences. The law doesn’t apply to them. The cops here are useless as well. It’s a great nature city but beyond that, it’s kind of a dump. Sad, because it was once great.

Born and raised in Chilliwack. Great community. living up Chilliwack Lake Road kept us busy with fishing, and hiking as a kid was fun.

We moved from Langley last May 2024, we are loving it so far! Our neighbourhood in Sardis is amazing! People are so welcoming and friendlier. If you love nature then definitely one of the best places to live. I watched this video before moving, it’s very informative and should take into consideration for sure. (Great video!)

I recently moved to Chilliwack and I am enjoying it so far, especially as a cyclist. Getting out on the farm roads and some gravel trails is a lot of fun and the views are amazing as well. I WFH full time as a software dev, and I'm not into nightlife, so it was the perfect fit for me.

a lot of the land in chilliwack is native owned, so most likely would fall under some sort of 99 year lease, so technically hard to own a property in chilliwack

You forgot to mention the worst part of living here in Chilliwack; The Dutch Reform community. They have a very tight grip on our city management AND Chilliwack is politically very conservative. The Strahl family are currently our FAR-RIGHT conservative nut-jobs representing us for over 20 yrs in Ottawa and they have done nothing for our diverse communities. WE NEED MORE LIBERAL LEANING PEOPLE TO MOVE HERE.

Grew up in the 'wack. If you were going to move here, you should have done it in the 70's-90's when it was a developing town, and by the late 90's-early 2000's the homeless population began to grow and by the 10's the homeless issues got worse, now there's 100,000 people here and the homeless population is out of control. Garrison isn't a bad hood but expect to pay a pretty penny for rent there.
