I used to teach archery at a summer camp. So many times I had a drawn bow and arrow pointed at me by a kid, asking "am I holding this right?"

Great video! I just wanted to add some information / talking points / suggestions / opinions. 1. There are multiple correct ways to designate a shooting line, this video shows only one of them. Other methods include paint, tape, chalk, buried/partially buried objects, and organized obstacles. 2a. I feel like 5+ whistle blasts should be mentioned; it signifies a ceasefire. Which is well depicted later in the video. 2b. The depiction at 1:19 doesn't sit entirely well with me; depending on the range, he can either hang his bow on some type of hook/dowel or put it on a bow rack or use a personal bow stand. I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like he just puts it on the ground, which isn't necessarily wrong, especially considering your wonderful grass, but it seems sloppy to me. 3. Never shoot with earbuds, hmm I have mixed feelings about that, I suppose it could cause an issue, but not likely; there are several ways I think you could shoot with earbuds safely. A. You could wear it under your chest protector, if you have one. B. You could wear it under your shirt; if you're shooting in public, you probably have one. C. you could take it out of the ear of your bow arm, I.E. a LH shooter's bow arm is their right arm; the closest ear to the action is their right ear, so if they only have it in their left ear, no potential issue with shooting. D. You could just wear the earbud; I'm not saying that it's a good idea to. There is no need to shoot with earbuds/headphones, but if you want to wear them you should be able to, unless it is banned for potential cheating concerns. 4. Never use someone else's equipment. I would add "without their permission". There are archers who don't let other people shoot their personal gear, and that's fine, but never is a big blanket statement, there are situations in which it's just fine to shoot someone else's gear. One of my fondest memories is asking a freestyle (Olympic/target style) LH shooter was kind enough to let me borrow his equipment for a shot (about 10 years ago when I was a RH barebow recurve shooter) I remember the clicker going off at the perfect time--I had recently learned how they work--and hitting way high because I used the arrow to aim and not the sight. I didn't damage anything, but even if I had, only stuff--not people or animals--was at risk, which is still safe shooting in my book. 5. Never shoot more than one arrow. I would add "per draw" or maybe rephrase it to "only shoot one arrow per shot cycle". 6. Speed shooting and other non-target styles of archery aren't necessarily more dangerous than other types of archery, but I would recommend against his crazier stunts, especially for a beginner. Lars Anderson (sen?) shoots an inbound arrow, apparently. I would say never, ever try that; there will never come a need for it, you're better off trying to dodge it than trying to shoot it. Well, that's longer than most will read, but I have looked many times for an archery safety video. I'm a level 3-NTS coach and teach range safety, but I occasionally search for an easy way to communicate the safety in an efficient manner, where nothing important is omitted and nothing superfluous is added. This video is the best I've seen so far by those criteria. I should mention that several things like earbuds, throwing arrows, dress code, etc. can be range / event / archery organization specific rules. I know ranges that prohibit / discourage swearing to make it family friendly, most indoor ranges are non-smoking; I'm not aware of any that allow smoking, but it's possible. No one wants an intoxicated / drunk individual shooting a bow, as far as I'm aware. Anyway, I've said too much already.
