Is GOD punishing America?
Let's dive deep into the complex emotions and spiritual questions that arise after tragedies like Hurricane Helene. Was it God's judgment on America for our sins? Some believe that, and while the Bible does speak of God using disasters for judgment, we can’t always know with certainty. Life brings pain and loss that often leave us searching for answers, but God remains trustworthy, even in the midst of the storm. Let's explore how these moments can shift our focus and remind us of life's fragility, pointing us back to God’s presence and eternal hope.

    Christion Nationalism is a movement to tear down the protections of separation of church and state. This can not result in Christion values in government. This can only result in government control over your personal religious life. If you believe that Jesus was crucified for his teachings, you understand what this means.

    That's ridiculous. She still doesn't have freedom of thought now. She doesn't have freedom of thought to think Christianity is true, or that she is wrong. As indicated, what she means by having freedom of thought, she means freedom to think Christianity is not true. But now, she is still limiting her thought from thinking Christianity is true. Freedom of thought, or being a free thinker, is an atheist red herring, talking point. As is typical, it's hypocritical, they think that if Christians believe Atheism is false, it's not having free thought. But if they think Christianity is false, they are a free thinker. So, as is typical, if you agree with them, you are a free thinker. If you don't but believe Christianity, you are not a free thinker.

    Perhaps You should explore why you accept such abusive love that your Jesus and Bible offers. recognizing, accepting and even embracing the contradictions offered in the Bible seem to pad your Beliefs in others being Unrighteous,but not so much you. Having a podcast platform to criticize others like Kristie for instance who is authentic and genuine in her deconstruction of the Bible and demonstrating the power of her separation from the clutches of what you consider to be the word of God, you use scripture to back up your beliefs in the hopes of salvation and heaven to impose your faith, Which is the absence of any evidence whatsoever, on the rest of us.

    The Jews were never slaves of the Egyptians, that is a Jew lie and the Exodus never happened, invalidating everything after. It is the Jew 10 commandments and the Jew-"god" YAHWEH. Read the 1st commandment carefully. The Jew-Book "bible" is filled with ridiculous factual errors and is superstitious delusional Jew fantasy. There is no law that the American citizen has to be a Jew-loving Zionist. In fact, it is Anti-American and Anti-Constitutional to force this superstitious Jew garbage on the American citizen. "Faith" is blind belief. You have to be an ignorant simpleton to be "believing" in the Jew-Book "bible" and believing you are a Jew.

    My family is very religious. I pulled a prodigal as soon as I had the freedom to do so. While my parents were rightly able to limit my actions as a child, they were not able to exert any control whatsoever over my thoughts….i can’t speak to others experience but I would encourage anyone who believes they do not have freedom of thought to reflect and consider that they might be repeating a narrative that doesn’t actually match reality. Just something to consider.

  • @JonCrs10
    @JonCrs10 27 днів тому

    For me Freedom of Thought would've been my parents actually trying to understand what I understand instead of assuming I was too stupid and ignorant because I'm the child and they're the adults. Even though I actually DID understand their concerns and agreed to the point that I knew that something wasn't actually a concern, like say trying to hammer in a lesson about the Dangers of the Occult because your cousin got a stage magic kit for a birthday present, even when you understand that stage magic isn't the occult and tell your parents that but NOPE NO YOU DONT GET IT I'M JUST CONCERNED YOU'RE TOO STUPID. Its not so much about complete autonomy, but the ability to let your child prove they understand what you want them to understand without making it all about them and their authority over you. Otherwise you end up feeling annoyed that your mom made NO HARRY POTTER into such a big issue despite you hating Men In Black (sci fi she approved of) for having the same "Secret World of Adventure" premise that you personally always hated. Had she just done nothing, I'd likely never care and her discovering and loving the Spiderwick Chronicles and Percy Jackson wouldn't have felt like a massive slap to the face that I wasn't allowed to call her out on. And I didn't like those books either, I just liked consistency in the rules as written. THAT'S Freedom of Thought as far as I'm concerned, not treating your child as an idiot house pet where debating is grounds for punishment. Kinda weird to know God let Abraham argue with Him about destroying Sodom AND TECHNICALLY WIN but I can't argue about how I actually understand any aspect of reality so you can relax and trust that I "get it" instead of just trying to keep me as this precious sheltered baby who felt guilty when an area talent show went to with her had a band playing the score to Harry Potter and I plugged my ears and felt guilty because I didn't know such evil music was in the show until we were there. That's not healthy in a completely different direction.

      It’s clear that the wounds here have not healed, and if you are holding on to deep resentment I hope you find a path out of that. My family has very similar beliefs, which at one point resulted in nearly being forced to return a college history book because of its unbiblical teaching of evolution and age of the earth. I was resentful for a long time at the church, God, and especially those who claimed Him. I do want to challenge your assertion that what you described was your freedom of thought being suppressed, but rather your freedom to have your parents agree with you. I’m not trying to attack or invalidate your experience. I just want to offer a different perspective, as someone who’s been there to some extent. I never managed to change my parents minds on anything but in the end it’s my mind that needed to be changed as it’s the one I really have to live with constantly.

    Right, besides that none of that means anything against God other than you don't like He did that, it's not like God did it just for meaness, for purely arbitrary reasons, without any reasoning to it is just, frankly, lying. But as that does nothing to make anything about the Bible untrue, she has complete freedom to complain to God about it when her time here is through.

    Yes, the church has had many more scandals and embarrassments and setbacks lately. But before we discuss the possibility of "sifting," shouldn't we recognize that advancing technology makes it more likely that the longtime misbehavior always seething beneath the surface of church life will now reach enough notoriety and specificity to pass swiftly from rumor to alleged misconduct to evidence-supported accusation to admitted crime to dismissed leader. Although it is a two-way street, half of the truth is that the smartphone and the internet are merciless to what is false and to what is inhumane.

    • @chandeeulch
      @chandeeulch Місяць тому

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I completely agree that advancing technology, like smartphones and the internet, allows information to spread much faster than in the past. We're now seeing things that may have always been there but remained hidden due to a lack of exposure. However, while technology can shed light on misconduct, it doesn’t change the fact that the actions themselves were committed. Sin is sin, regardless of when or how it's revealed, and God will always sift His church to purify it. Scripture speaks to this process. Luke 12:2 reminds us, "There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known." God brings things to the surface so that there is an opportunity for repentance and healing. Additionally, James 3:1 says, "Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." God holds those in leadership to a higher standard, and when they fall, He allows the truth to be revealed for the sake of His church's holiness. So yes, technology may expose these failures, but it is God's hand that is ultimately at work, bringing light to what is in the dark for His redemptive purposes.

    You often say the offending pastor's name/alleged offence/he can be spiritually restored together in a sequence. Why should this be? Different goals are often prioritized because efforts need to be put toward one goal before thought and effort can be put toward a lesser or chronologically dependent goal. Yet always I hear how urgent it is to restore these pastors who have done horrendous things to vulnerable victims. Thus, it seems to me we have two reasons to question whether there is a Holy Spirit at all intervening for good in the life of church members. First, the Holy Spirit is said to "call" these men and to "inspire" their sermons and leadership and to "produce fruit" in the hearers, yet the Holy Spirit doesn't protect these victims. Second, Christian leaders and adherents don't reveal the guidance of a HOLY Spirit when they show misplaced concern for the perpetrator at a time when it would more appropriate to be emphasizing aid to the victim and ascertaining evidence in a disinterested manner concerning the alleged perpetrator. Put together, it seems that there is every expectation that the Holy Spirit is powerful enough to restore the offender in short order, but not powerful enough to protect the victim from the person that the Holy Spirit put in that position of authority in the first place.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I want to address several of the important points you've raised. When I speak of forgiveness, I do so because God first forgave me, and His grace compels me to extend that same grace to others (Ephesians 4:32). Forgiveness is essential in the Christian faith, but it’s not the same as restoring someone to leadership. Restoring a fallen leader to fellowship with other believers can happen over time, but as I’ve said, that restoration doesn’t mean they should return to a position of authority. Galatians 6:1 tells us, "Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted." Restoration should happen with caution, and it’s not a quick or automatic process. And as you mentioned, the focus must be on the victims first and foremost (I 100% agree with you on this matter)-justice, healing, and support are critical. We have laws in place for a reason and the church should not stop the law from doing it's job in these matters. As for the role of the Holy Spirit, I understand your concern about why He doesn't always prevent harm. This is a deep question that has challenged believers throughout history (which is what I think is at the root of your statement)-why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? While we may never fully grasp all of God’s ways, it doesn’t mean that the Holy Spirit is absent or powerless. He does protect and intervene more often than we realize. I personally experienced this with my own daughter. When she was just 2 years old, we were dropping her off at church childcare one Sunday. She usually loved going, but on this particular day, when a man volunteering in the childcare room reached to take her, she began to scream uncontrollably. My husband, sensing something was off, decided to keep her with us during the service. A couple of months later, the church announced that an investigation was taking place because this same man had been accused of abusing children in the congregation and at home with his step-daughter. I truly believe the Holy Spirit protected her that day, guiding us in a way we didn’t fully understand at the time. It is in retrospect that we often see what He has done for us. The Holy Spirit does protect people, often in ways we never even know. The fact that He doesn’t always intervene in the way we want doesn’t mean He is inactive. Sometimes, the protection is unseen, and other times, the brokenness of our world is on display. But in those moments, He still works-bringing healing to victims, holding abusers accountable, and comforting those who suffer. Ultimately, the difficult question you raise about why bad things happen touches on the nature of free will and the brokenness of this world. But we can trust that God is just, loving, and always working-even when we don’t fully understand His ways.

      @@isaiahdrews9536 It's not about religion itself; it's the misinterpretation, false claims, and distortion of scripture that I find troubling. I understand your dislike of religion, which likely led to your statement. However, my issue isn't with disliking religion; it's with the misrepresentation of scripture. Also, I challenge your view of atheism as not being a religion. In many ways, it is a religion-a religion of self, where you have essentially made yourself your own god. - and I am under the assumptions that you are an atheism because of your statement, if you are not then I apologize for that. However, that does lead to me to another question (if not an atheist) then why the statement about organized religion?

    Your message was both powerful and beautiful, Chande. Thank you! “Hell is not merely a place, no, but a state of one’s soul. That begins here on earth. Just so, paradise lies in the heart of man. It is in this life, in this bodily form, that we may first touch the Divine.” - St. John Maximovitch of Shanghai and San Francisco (paraphrased a tad bit) I have not always believed as I now do. I completely understand how someone would deny ‘hell’, or a wrathful god that would burn his own creation in a lake of fire for eternity as some cruel punishment. This depiction of a wrathful punishing creator stood between God and I for a long time. I am privileged to live in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. I was not born here, but here I will die. I can assure you that hellfire, brimstone are real! I know this because that is what so many around these parts will tell you. Often in a loud shouting voice, red faced with sweat beading upon their brow, and a fist pounded down upon the pulpit. I am not stating they are wrong, and I assure you these are some wonderful God fearing people with the best intentions. I do believe this is a distorted view however, when compared to what the religion of Jesus Christ has always proclaimed. A view many struggle to justify with an all loving God, and understandably so. There is a short article that can be easily accessed on line titled “Is Hell Real?” by Fr. Stephen Freeman. He is/was clergy, theologian, and scholar in the Easter Orthodox Church. He does an amazing job of summarizing the apostolic view of heaven and hell in a mere couple of pages. I encourage anyone and everyone to give it a read. Even non-believers could benefit from understanding what we believe, even if they don’t believe it. For me, it was life changing. I read it earlier in my journey and it not only opened my eyes to a far better understanding of heaven and hell, but a clearer depiction of God. It connected several theological dotes and was profoundly influential. Maybe it will be for someone else on here to. Peace to all!

    • @chandeeulch
      @chandeeulch 2 місяці тому

      It can be scary. And I think that important thing is being okay with saying "I don't know" or "I don't have an answer for that at the moment." For me the big issue is making sure I find the answer and then get back to them at a later date. I try hard...not always great at it...but I try hard to never leave anyone hanging. If I cannot answer them immediately, I do it at a later date. And the truth is we don't have all the answers. No matter where you are in your walk with God, we are all still learning, growing and maturing. That will not stop this side of heaven.
