Please read, this might help you. 2 years ago I met a publishing executive online who had posted a challenge for people to write a 3-5 page interesting story on scifi or fantasy at a certain deadline. I submitted a short story called 'Guy from Zorath' got published, didnt become famous, but helped overcome my fear. I noticed that when I was met with an actual deadline and page limit and they also boiled down what genre the story has to stick to, then I was able to do it in 2-3 days. Before this I would always start writing something and abandon it, sometimes we need others to define exact conditions, challenges and goals.

My advice keep trying to work on it even if your projects aren't turning out great. As an adult you must nurture your skills more to increase their efficacy. But keep in mind that that doesn't mean you'll necessarily create what you're looking for sometimes the avenue will instead open up differently. For me I thought myself a writer throughout high School Middle School and early adulthood until I reached my late twenties. I had great ideas I still have great ideas but the act of forging them onto a paper was not conducive to me and obviously writer's block is involved in there as well but the bigger thing is sometimes your avenue changes. I found that I had an extreme passion for storytelling and game design so I started creating my own tabletop RPG set in my own world with my own logic and stories to tell and that that was the better way to put my writing in my touch on the world

The mall seems to be doing much better these days. I was by this weekend and there are barely any closed storefronts, and the food court now has two restaurants and a convenience store. The arcade, game store and TCG store were all pretty cool. It feels like it is actually thriving.
